I have a penchant for 18th century Italian violins and stunning modern ones. This one is neither, but doesn't mean I don't like it - I do. It has an engaging tone and this is what matters most : smooth, sweet and melodic. The G string has a deep sound, but not excessively so like some Maggini models - it is focused and individual and draws you to it. The D has substance and is not at all bland or indifferent. The A is beautiful too and the E which is all important is pleasant and sonorous. I get the feeling that this violin has been played quite a bit.
My best wishes for you and all the Fiddlershop team on this very troubling time in Florida.God bless and you protect you. Beautiful playing by the OG, I sound like a broken record but hopefully we can get some Michael Explains It All in the future 😅. Event if it’s Michael explains nuclear physics, it will be a fun watch.
Interesting! I never saw an antiqued instrument by Giuseppe Lucci
