Gosh you're both smart and creative. It shows in your work. And a lot of pride in the process. Gives me much to ponder about. Techniques yes, behind that, and more importantly, you've grandfathered the process of quilt making with something else. I can sense it, i just can't find the words for it.

I like the intentional improv, it’s so me. I have not been successful at improv-making a mess; I just can’t do it. But I’m getting these stripes. I’ll move on eventually, lol. (Just for the book for Christmas.)
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Our family took a trip to the Pacific North west this summer and while in the Alaska portion, This book was shared with me in one of the many lovely quilt shops I visited.. Since then, Maria's work has popped up all over and I am a fan!! My search for a tutorial wasn't successful until it became an improvisational one and this appeared without any work!! I love the idea of improvisation with intent and also, watching her actually working..

It is when the quilting goes on here that it becomes beautiful, also it has some real homey look to it that takes me back to another place and time.
