- The 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Marlo Thomas to celebrate the tremendous impact she has had on the entertainment industry and American culture. The award ceremony was held May 23, 2023 at the Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, in Beverly Hills, California.
The Annual Gracie Awards are presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (formerly known as The Foundation of American Women in Radio & Television). The AWMF supports and promotes educational programs, and scholarships to benefit the media, the public, and allied fields. The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation has created partnerships and joint initiatives with many organizations that are philosophically aligned with the mission of the Foundation. In addition to giving $20,000 a year in scholarships to deserving female students, the Foundation also produces nationally acclaimed recognition programs, including the Gracie Awards that exemplary honor programming created by, for and about women.

Jimmy Carter was all about helping people with Habitat for Humanity for all these years since he left office for all these reasons to help the less fortunate be able to live in a home of their own! Does it make this man any money, does it make his wife any money? No of course it does not, but it gives both of them the gratitude of helping the less fortunate who might never have been able to afford a home! He has lived a life to help provide for the poor and to this end will be remembered as a true gentle spirit a true Christian a model human being! God bless them both for all time!

She looked beautiful before her Face Surgery. She look worst than ever before. Awful nose job and cheeks . You need Corrected Surgery ASAP.
Do not use the same Surgeon you had on the past. You need to go see Dr. Massif.. he will work a miracle on your face.

Did you notice that she did not dwell on herself receiving this award and profusely thanking everyone responsible for giving her this tribute? PURE CLASS moment and she still looks terrific! Mary Tyler Moore had a lot of work, too. She often said 'if it makes YOU happy, then do it.' I agree with you, though. Aging is our natural course, if we are lucky.
It appears that the plastic surgery went a tad too far, but both her's and Danny Thomas' work on St. Jude has been a great thing.
It is sad to see people who go to such extremes to stay young instead of aging gracefully.
Sadder that people feel the need to bring it up.

I love Marlo Thomas,and I love that she was allowed to speak without music playing her to leave the stage. What a legacy her dad left with St Jude hospital. ❤️I’m going to look into giving there. Also didn’t know how she looked to help women in situations that were perilous. God bless her.

Don’t forget her groundbreaking book and television special “Free to Be You and Me” star-studded and filled with messages of acceptance and empowerment for sensitive boys and ambitious girls. Beautifully written and performed vignettes. Timeless and all coming from love. I met her in New York with her friend actress Bobo Lewis and she couldn’t haven’t been sweeter to me. I’ll always love her for that.
I believe she briefly cited "free to be" in her speech, but no one seemed to pick up on it.

I remember your dad as I was growing up. I grew up watching you as well. It is an accomplishment, in itself, carrying on your father's Legacy. And however many other things that you have done, that we know nothing about. St.Jude's has been the lucky recipient of your father and your Love and Dedication to sick children. Robbed of their childhoods because they were sick. In this messed up world, more so than anyone will realize, it warms my heart that there are Angels like you and your dad, that helped to make this world a better place. A beautiful speech that tells the story of a lady who embodies her fathers accomplishments in terms of humanity. Many, many yrs ago when I was single and just a young man trying to find my way. Giving to St. Jude then was an anchor of sorts at the time for me. Today, some 40 yrs later after raising a house full of kids and every stray dog that showed up and stayed till their life was up, My wife and I still donate to St. Jude. I’m not bragging, I’m a man who has made many mistakes along the way. St. Jude, was an avenue of love and redemption, Thanks Marlo for all you’ve done, Your words are empowering and taken to heart.

I was a partner in hope for many years sending a measly 20$ a month because I knew this could be me and us as a family! When my retirement income could not support the measly 20$ a month I stopped! I will make it a priority to send my 20$ a month once again because God will provide as always!! When we hope and wish a child lives and they don't 😢we need to understand and know that this child is God's angel now....no suffering, no harm....just unconditional love with our lord and savior!!❤️🤙🙏😂

I've loved Marlo Thomas since I was a young child watching That Girl and I grew up following her advocating work that guided my own career working with children with significant disabilities and medical compromises and learned what compassion is supposed to look like.
