Living in Australia I recall learning a fact as a kid that when you’re in Australia you’re almost always a few feet away from a spider. It’s not uncommon to have spider visitors in the home, the huntsman is cute coz they’re shy and will run fast when they can, they don’t do confrontation and i fk with that! I don’t do cockroaches but a huntsman do, they’re just restoring order!
OMG! How do you Aussie's sleep at night knowing these huge eight legged Arachnids are crawling around all over the place. Strewth Mate, its enough to give me Insomnia.
Gary Dunn it’s not like they crawl around trying to find someone to bite they only bite if someone is threatening them like trying to pick them up. It’s natural selection
In summer its bad. Right now im not sleeping well because i know they are around. I often wake up to them crawling on my face or dropping on my head (jumping spiders). Yeh, it sucks. If you come here, make sure you go to astore called 'Bunnings' and purchase a tin of spider blaster and spray where you are staying. But its not always the spiders i worry about, its the damn cochoroaches. www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2014/01/10/3923531.htm We have the largest cochoroaches in the world, flying ones that attack you. And can burrow in your ear while you sleep. Hope to see to see you here soon, enjoy your stay.
I once witnessed millions of tiny spiders floating through the air on a metre long strand of Webb, while crossing a lake in the early morning, on turning around to face the now rising sun the entire Bankside grass was white with these tiny Webb’s for over a kilometre of shoreline, David Attenborough missed out on this one , truly amazing.

Umm, lm an Aussie, yep l live in the land of Oz where apparantly everything wants to kill you, except this video is blowing it all out of proportion, huntsman spiders are considered near harmless, if you piss them off enough they will bite and it hurts because their fangs are bloody big, but l handle them regularly, lm often called upon to remove them from houses and most times l simply put my hands around them, let them climb onto me then take them outside and let them go, l have never been bitten because they are nearly always very placid, l do wish these wankers from other countries would get their facts right

I moved here from Scotland and do window cleaning.. i have been here 4 months and have encountered, 4 huntsman, 3 redbacks, (one of which was on my arm), a wolf spider, dozens of common black spiders and one weaver spider. It isnt for the faint hearted... looking forward to snake season. Wish me luck 😅
I'm an Australian and I have literally never seen the majority of these spiders. The only spiders I see are huntsman spiders (totally cute and harmless), daddy long legs and the occasional red back. Most are fine and just want to leave you alone. The media makes it out as if everything in Australia will kill you, but realistically it is very unlikely you will ever see any of the really dangerous ones. When I was young I used to be terrified of the Funnel Web spider. It's one of the deadliest spiders in the world. But they are also very rare. I have been bitten by a white tail spider, but it only really got itchy and healed pretty quickly.
The only spiders on this list that have killed people are the redback and the Sydney Funnelweb. Though some other funnel web species are capable of killing, they are rarely encountered
Christian McBrearty Depends on where you live, on the new England tablelands ,Guyra ,to be specific funnel webs are very common, in my garage, in the house, Once 13 in one tree while cutting fire wood ,got to bloody scarey ,only got half a load.
With the Redback Spider being native to Australia, the Black Widow Spider is native to the United States of America. There’s been 2 different instances where I had a Black Widow Spider on my hand for more than 5 minutes before I realized it. Thankfully when I saw it on my hand I knew not to freak out because if I’d freaked out it might’ve bitten or stung me. I got up and slowly walked outside and let the spider go. Although they do have a neurotoxic Venom in them they typically won’t bite or sting you unless they feel threatened... at which point they’ll defend themselves aggressively. If bitten seek treatment immediately. Who knows by going to the hospital you might find out that it was indeed a Black Widow Spider that bit you but it also might’ve just been a warning bite(meaning that this one was a dry bite). You might not be so lucky next time though.
Don't worry, this video is full of rubbish information. 7 out of the 10 spiders shown are basically harmless, and even the medically significant ones leave you alone and pose an insignificant threat overall. Crossing the road is more dangerous than any of them.
I stopped at a toilet stop at the side of a highway a few years ago and a wolf spider literally stood in the middle of the path and we had a stance off. He won, especially when he started RUNNING AT ME unprovoked!!
The only spiders that we aussies mostly keep a look out for are the redbacks and funnel web spiders. The rest dont really bother us. But it also depends on where in australia you live. When i lived in Western Australia i would find redbacks literally everywhere, but then i moved to QLD and lived here for 10 yrs and ive only seen 2 redbacks. Ive been lucky enough not to run into a funnel web.... yet
They have trapdoor, orb weaver, and wolf spiders in the USA. LOL And none of them are terribly venemous. In fact, there was a nice orange orb weaver outside my friends house once; she was always on the light fixture. We saw her for a while, was always good to see her. She didn't do anything, never tried to come inside. One day we didn't see her anymore.
Spiders have venom not poison. If it bites you and you get disk it's venom, if you bite it or touch it and get sick it's poison like the poison dart frog.
I live in Norway and the only venomous thing we have is a viper and can grow to maximum size of 27 inches but some females can grow to 35 inches. Thankfully its not a deadly poison but painful, Besides their pattern on their back makes them fairly easy too see. Just be careful especially from April to May during its mating season. There is a lot of them in the woods at that time.
Once In a school camps, We discovered a Huntsman 3 times and I had to get rid of them, Though they were agressive, I managed to place them somewhere further
I live in Sydney and I've come across 4 funnel web spiders in my 47 years. 2 were hiding in my inlines skates. Lucky I didn't just throw them on 😬 I've also been bitten twice by huntsman spiders. Painful bite but that's the extent of symptoms from these bites.
I've been bitten by a huntsman whilst handling one, their bite feels like a quick stab (like if you step on a thumb tack or pin). Whilst it does hurt, the pain does not last long, nor did it leave any side effect symptoms.
Live in australia i had white tail spider in my bedroom last week & in my mum & dads bedroom on the same day. Now before i go to sleep check my bedroom every night.
Relax people. An Australian here and I can tell you that our spiders are very friendly. I had a pet funnel web that would eat off my hand.....right up to the elbow. There are about thirty species of funnel web spider here and the most venomous is actually the northern tree dwelling funnel web. But don't worry you won't know if there is one in the tree as the drop on you and hit you with such force that they knock you unconscious before biting and devouring you.
This might come as a surprise but common spider names can be regional. Many different countries will have a "Black House Spider" or "Common Black Spider", spiders tend to clock up a fair amount of synonyms; the Giant House Spider in the UK (Eratigena atrica) is also known as the Giant Carpet Spider. The spider most commonly referred to as the Black House Spider in the UK is also known as the "Black Lace Spider" or the "Black Lace Weaver" (Amaurobius ferox). We also have a Mouse Spider in the UK (Scotophaeus blackwalli), that is mostly harmless. So the fact that you encountered a Black House Spider, and you weren't in Australia at the time means that it's highly unlikely that you encountered Badumna insignis, the Australian Black House Spider.
BE CARFUL I nearly got bit by a black tale in Australia, the black tale snake can kill in about 20 minutes, it was so close I recommend not visiting a dangerous place, imma die ;-;
Time for another Emu war but this time against spiders and snakes Who's with me I'm not Australian But I'll volunteer in the army Against these horrible monsters
A video of random spiders, some of them not even Australian, a lot of misinformation and crappy stock photos for the normie masses. This is how you get millions of subs and views.
I will say, a lot is correct like the symptoms etc but at least one piece of footage for each spider is not the spider being spoken about. Still a decent video.
The white tail spider bite does cause ulceration. I was bitten by a white tail on the foot and it was like it dissolved some flesh, it took a couple of months to heal properly. The sore the bite left stayed open for over six weeks and finally started to close in and over in the last couple of weeks. A mate also had a bite worse than mine from a white tail and spent three months in hospital having it drained because festered that much abd wouldn't close.
Trust me any of these spiders can kill me, I’d literally have a heart attack seeing any of them. Thank goodness for Britain
Don't worry they are just looking for views most of these spiders are harmless and helpful:) fun fact! No-one has died from a funnelweb since the 80s!

But don't worry you won't know if there is one in the tree as the drop on you and hit you with such force that they knock you unconscious before biting and devouring you.
The guy in the thumbnail is laughing I’m pretty sure
3:41 you can’t be serious
I caught one in my bathroom when I was 7 and caught one on the side of my door when I was 12 and I wasn’t even in Australia
The red back spider camping in my toilet seat: sh*t! My cover is blown!
I’m scared to visit Australia 🇦🇺. Too many venomous spiders 🕷 and snakes 🐍. Sydney Funnel Web spider is ferocious.

I’ve lived in Australia for 5 years and I’ve only seen a couple of red backs and mainly huntsman’s and a few orb web spiders in the trees
Now I'm more scared of visiting Australia than I was after watching Wolf Creek.
Luckily most of this video is a load of rubbish
Just don’t touch them
Time for another Emu war but this time against spiders and snakes

White tails casually chucked in with the black house spider
Ahhh I truly love Australia 🇦🇺
A video of random spiders, some of them not even Australian, a lot of misinformation and crappy stock photos for the normie masses.
This is how you get millions of subs and views.
Video is full of misinformation.
I will say, a lot is correct like the symptoms etc but at least one piece of footage for each spider is not the spider being spoken about. Still a decent video.
You are right
I came here to see cool deadly spiders and all of them I already know and the huntsman spider? Not deadly so why is it even on this list?
the average aussie almost full
Me: ends up on redback spider
Trends Max: tells they are in our toilet seats
Me: never goes back to bathroom
The white tail spider bite does cause ulceration. I was bitten by a white tail on the foot and it was like it dissolved some flesh, it took a couple of months to heal properly. The sore the bite left stayed open for over six weeks and finally started to close in and over in the last couple of weeks. A mate also had a bite worse than mine from a white tail and spent three months in hospital having it drained because festered that much abd wouldn't close.
