Just the video I was looking for. Would love to get some Nutiden but have a feeling it’s gonna be next to impossible due to it becoming somewhat legendary 🤔
Hello. I am so happy that you did this video. The only unspun I have used so far is the plotulopi. I have really enjoyed working with it and have been curious about nutiden and just learned of these other 2. Thank you so much for doing this. I loved seeing all of your sweaters.
I am SO glad UA-cam suggested your video. I am obsessed with everything. 🥹🥹🥹 I took a trip to Norway in January and stumbled across a yarn shop. Excellent video. Well planned, great information. I thoroughly enjoyed this video! I love all of the unspun yarns and I love your knitted items. Thank you so much for this information.
Thank you for doing this video about the unspun yarns and working with them single, double and how to knit with them in general. It was also interesting how you worked with the yarn in your tubular bind off. Those are the kind of tips we all need. I just purchased some Plotulopi to make myself a sweater for next winter and have never knit with unspun before. So for me, this was helpful information and I'm looking forward to working with it and seeing how it turns out. Thank you very much.

So glad you did an in-depth podcast on nutiden, plotulopi and the other 2 unspun yarns. There is hardly any info on usage and care of these yarns. Thank you. I did Melanie Hoffman shawl in plotulopi. Hope to do sweaters next.
I've only experienced Plotulopi as it's available at a LYS here in the Bay Area, so it's helpful to hear how it compares to the other unspun yarns. Decided to go ahead for the Nutiden during their update last week. Really appreciate this video, thank you!
I just love your videos and thank you for them. I recently started using Plotulopi and just love it. I have had it in my stash for over a year and finally found a pattern I liked and mustered up the courage to try it out. I was pleasantly surprised how enjoyable it is to knit with. My question to you is where might I find more patterns that are geared more for the unspun types of yarns? Your sweaters are just lovely and I hope to order some nutiden and start another pattern once I find one that works well with it. Thanks for your help!
I have the Nutiden Tallbark for my first garment knitted with an unspun yarn. I’ve been nervous to knit with it, but decided to knit something simple like the Felix pullover. I just ordered the Infinitiv color way by Nutiden so I need to get started on the Felix. Thanks for all your tips; it will help a lot. One question - does the Nutiden pill with wear over time? Your garments are spectacular! I loved seeing the Tallbark knit up!!!
Very interesting to see the comparison of the different brands! I'd love to see a video on your nutiden collection and what you're planning to make with it in the future
This is so helpful! I'm a brand new knitter (just started last autumn) and I've heard these names thrown around, but this is the first time it's been so well explained!
Love! Thank you for the comparison - I've just finished a colourwork sweater in Plotulopi and am stalking the next release of Nutiden for a shawl. This video landed just in time for me to explore different unspun yarns for other projects..! :) Plotulopi is extremely sheepy smelling, I hope the Nutiden (whenever I get my lot) will be the same!
I've started balling up my Nutiden following Caroline's method, which she's demonstrated on her Patreon videos. She prefers many small balls (~5-7cm would be my guess), instead of larger balls, since the smaller balls don't draft when you're knit straight from them. With larger balls, I find you have to manually unwind yarn from it as you knit, because the weight of the ball dragging on the end of the loose strand will start to draft and eventually break the yarn.
I really enjoyed this video, from showing each type of yarn through to the gorgeous garments at the end! You are very talented! Thank you for this excellent tutorial💕 I will probably refer back to it several times.
Hello, thank you for your very informative video. Is it possible to do an Italian bind off with unspun yarn? When you pull the yarn every time through the stitches it will break or not? Many greetings from Germany

Hi Rui great video! One question: have you ever encountered moth eggs in your unspun plate? I bought some Manchelopis and one of the plates has moth eggs. I already threw away the infected one and I am wondering if you have any advice on saving the rest of the plates. Thank you!!
Hello! I have not (knock on wood). Omg that is terrible!! Did you reach out to Wool Dreamers as that is a huge issue. I would isolate the plates and freeze if possible. I hear some people also bake, but I’d be afraid they’d catch on fire. Please let me know if you hear back from the company!
Do you have to be a patron member to have any chance of ordering Nutiden? I signed up for the newsletter but dont get notices of their sale and when I ck their website there is nothing for sale
You can sometimes sub them for each other. It really depends on the pattern and the blend of fibers of whichever you choose. I’ll note this for a future video.

My struggle is casting on with Nutiden yarn. Once knitting I’m okay but to cast on is a struggle and takes the fun out of it initially. Is there a better cast on method to use for Nutiden?
You can try rubbing the strands together to get it to felt a bit. It’ll make it stronger for cast on too. I do whichever cast on patterns call for. I think I do long tail the most, but recently have been doing tubular cast more.
