Say RJ why don't you have a 55? yep that question got raised quite a few times and then Tom saved you and send you one. So now you proudly can state; ofcourse i have a 55! You could carry it while hunting, for small game it serves you great. For larger game like boar or deer you better use the 110. The 112 could be safe to use in the office in my opinion, but it maybe pushing it. Thank you for the review RJ.
I agree with you, Jeroen! Tom did me a real favor in sending that so I could finally say I had a 55! The 55 is a great edc knife. The 110 is definitely a hunting knife and the 112 is really in the do everything zone. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Very nice of Tom to provide you such a great gift. The 55 is one my favorite lockbacks. A great size for EDC and reminiscent of it's classic bigger brother. One to treasure.

If you like the 55, you should get yourself a Buck 503 Prince. It's the same size except it has nickel-silver bolsters and a drop point blade.

My father gave me a 301 Stockman decades ago and I used it for years as my oldman pocket knife. Got he and myself 055s last Christmas and it is so much better! Half the thickness, you hardly notice you're carrying it! The single blade is plenty and the clip point will tackle most jobs just fine. Perfect little oldman pocket carry!

I have a buck lite select coming should be here tomorrow havent tried the lightweight ones with the pocket clip yet excited about the 5 or 6 oz difference in the 110 .
I really like my Bucklite. It’s one of the original ones, no pocket clip. Definitely a game changer. Thanks Don!

My 55 is a perfect little beauty However little is the operative term It’s too small to be practical for anything I would use a Buck Knife for so I seldom carry it I have it and it sits alongside all the other beautiful wooden lockbacks in my growing collection

I put the 55 in my jeans watch pocket, right under the Western Images Leatherwork horizontal sheath carrying my 112.

I really like the 55, I don’t own one. Some day maybe, it’s half the size but not half the price. I love the 110 & 112, carry a 112 every day. I am sure the 55 is awesome, but I can get a 110 or 112 for around the same price. And they come with a sheath too. One day I will pull the trigger and get one.

Thanks Tony! Yes, the price is around the same for all of them. I am going to get a working 112 and edc it. The 112 was my first Buck and I wish I had it. I only have the 50th anniversary model and don’t want to get it messed up. The 55 makes a great light carry or Sunday carry.
The Buck 112 was my first Buck too. Then I picked up a 505 for fifth pocket carry. Love my Buck’s. Have a good one.
Nice RJ. It makes a nice alternative when the big boys are too heavy.
Second strike on the 34oth. Returned to amazon, bought direct. Blade was much better but burrs, gaps and major bladeplay means this is going back too. Disappointing they market such low qc.
Wow, I didn’t expect that. I had heard some of the 34OTG having issues but the OTH was good. I’m sorry that you’re having a time trying to find a good one. Let me know what you end up getting.
@@RJsKnives Some of the otgs having issues? The twice as expensive usa made middleman? That's the direction I was considering but not sure it's worth it now.
@@christophwilhelm6431 yes, Thrifty bought one and it had really bad blade rub. Of course, that was just one but it made me go oth and I am happy with both of the oth knives that I have. I bought mine through SMKW, not Amazon.
@@RJsKnives I was initially looking at smoky, they were at the top of search results but have been out of stock. You would think OT themselves would have the best items 🤷♂ Everything about the first one was great but the blade... the pivots were nice and tight. This one you can feel the tangs hit the sides when you flex back and forth (yet the SF is solid). There was a huge burr on the end of the spring interface for main blade. How's yours concerning bladeplay? Did yours come in the skinny box with the display window?
@@christophwilhelm6431 yes, mine came in the window box, I think all of them do. I had no burrs or anything wrong with it. My video on it will give you a good look at mine. I only have the one but I know Thrifty has one and he’s happy with it. I’m surprised that you got two bad ones in a row.
