Thrice never ceases to impress or show us that they have talent for days and will be around for many more years to come. Glad we can grow old together. :)
My favorite rock band stronger than ever on this album. 20 years and 10 albums, always adding new aspects, always being relevant. Just thank you so much for all of this.
In my life only one thing stays the same, when Thrice has an upcoming album, I buy it, no questions asked since they brought in the millennium with their debut album.
An old man with a handlebar mustache donning all black leather was blaring this song on his Harley all along the Scioto River in Columbus, OH for countless families and passersby just before dusk yesterday. I couldn't be more proud of Thrice for continuing to spread social progress in the most unexpected places throughout the country. When you hear Dustin's voice, you will always hear social progress and global awareness breaking through the noise we are exposed to daily and I simply love that hope still cuts through the radiowaves with this amazing band. Thank you for all you do THRICE!
(Lyrics) There was a time when I tried to hold the ocean in my fists When I mistook the language for the light There was a tightness that gripped my soul and bubbled at my wrists And choked me within inches of my life But now I'm letting go And I can finally breathe, I can finally breathe And my hands are open, reaching out I'm learning how to live with doubt I'm learning how to lean into the grey 'Cause I've had enough of black and white I'll find another way and I will lean into the grey I'll lean into the grey There was a time when I tried to bind and bottle up the sea I tried to hide my heart inside my head There was a maze of these vicious lines that cut through everything I pulled against them till my body bled But now I'm letting go And I can finally breathe, I can finally breathe And my hands are open, reaching out I'm learning how to live with doubt I'm learning how to lean into the grey 'Cause I've had enough of black and white I'll find another way and I will lean into the grey I'll lean into the grey I will find, I will find another way, way And I will lean, I will lean into the grey, grey Now I'm letting go And I can finally breathe, I can finally breathe And my hands are open, reaching out I'm learning how to live with doubt I'm learning how to lean into the grey 'Cause I've had enough of black and white I'll find another way and I will lean into the grey I'll lean into the grey Yeah, I've had enough of black and white I'll lean into the grey I'll lean into the grey I'll find another way and I Will lean into the grey I'll lean into the grey
Thrice delivers and exceeds expectations yet again! I have been a fan since, Illusion of Safety. Every album since feels like it grew up alongside me. Evolved. Matured. This track is no different. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album! Side note, just shared this with my son and he is as stoked as I am about it. Congrats, Thrice, you have officially become a cross generational family staple of ours, lol!
And again they got me by the balls with the first note.like the 20 years before.Unique, recognizable and shamefully underrated. One of the best rockbands of their time and a formidable live-band! Thank you for helping me through the darkest hours of my life! Vheissu gave me strenght like no other album before...and they are still on high pitch!
I used to like their old stuff when I was younger. Thought I grew out of them though. But ever since I heard black honey I realized that I'm not the only one who grew. These guys are killing it and making rock songs that are gritty, raw, and deep. Seriously can't believe this is the same band.
To me this video feels like it's about escaping from the madhouse of mental, emotional, and social conditioning that society puts people through and the struggle that comes with that. Can't wait for the album!
The last real successful butt rock song was The Sex Is Good by Saving Abel in 2011. (#1 on the Mainstream Rock Charts). The genre started getting some new life in 2014/15/16 when radio stations started giving other bands some chances (Nothing More, Thrice, Highly Suspect, Starset, Royal Blood, Red Sun Rising,...). Great song by the way.
Janinho1807 Would you consider bands like Sevendust, Tremonti, and Alter Bridge in the same category? Because those are some of the few consistently talented bands.
I like all of them. The new albums by Sevendust and Tremonti are great. But they've been around for a long time. I just listed a few new bands and Thrice who didn't have one song in the top 50 in more than 10 years before Black Honey. If I should count other good bands that been around for some time... Rise Against, & Chevelle. (Maybe even Shinedown & Seether).
LeftyDrums Doesn't make any sense to me. I mean, they certainly got bigger after their latest album and tour with Rise Against and Deftones but do they really need another push? Maybe Killswitch Engage could take them, Senses Fail, and Every Time I Die out on tour? Just make it interesting and filthy. I realize that the only really successful post-hardcore band that's from the same era as Thrice nowadays is Silverstein. You look at how much less popular bands such as SF, Hawthorne Heights, Story of the Year etc are nowadays. They live off of nostalgia. Anyways, sorry for the rant. Definitely looking forward to their new tour but The Bronx and Teenage Wrist are certainly not going to help push their draw by very much so they should do another big tour opening for a household name.
Jason LovesABR nah, I really don't know what else to do! They've evolved in so many ways I suppose people don't follow. I mean look back on Identity Crisis and see just how much they've grown. I personally love it. I can't stand when bands just re-release the same stuff over and over.
The world doesn't want good music. They want easily digestible, recycled messages that enforce a certain standard of normal acceptable living. Nobody wants music that asks more questions than it answers, they don't want complex or thought-provoking. And it's a shame :(
Letting the ads play through so I can support the band & their label till I'm able to go pick up my copy of the album.... As usual, Thrice did an AMAZING JOB! AGAIN!
im subscribing to epitaph but havent been the huge fan of thrice, i listened to maybe two or three songs and when this came out i cried and i dont know why but im glad i clicked this and now my crying will be reasonable
Too Deep In the Phandom You should. They've had a really cool evolution from post-hardcore w/ a lot of punky edge to a broader, more experimental rock/post-hardcore band. I only started listening to them a few months ago and now they're one of my favorite bands. 3 good songs of theirs to check out and see their diversity are Deadbolt (my favorite) The Earth Will Shake, and Hurricane
Agreed!Deadbolt, the artist in the ambulance, like moths to flame, even phoenix ignition and ultra blue from the 1st album were great (very raw) but from the begging their lyrical prowess and musicianship was evident.
Lmfao, you claim to not be a huge fan of Thrice after listening to a whole 2 or 3 songs? Fucking ridiculous. They have been around since 1998 with countless albums. You cannot make judgement off of 2 or 3 songs.....
I don’t understand the video at all, probably because I haven’t digested the lyrics either. Just eager to see a new video released by the best band in the world!
@@jonathanallard2128 hey now 10 years ago I was just graduating high school. I haven't listened to them since high school so it feels like forever ago.
Most bands have at least one bad (or unpalatable) album under their record. Kid A by Radiohead, St. Anger by Metallica or Afraid of Heights by Billy Talent. Thrice just never ceases to impress. Always consistent in quality; never in tone. Experimental but not alien. A varied but talented group that always pulls together a fucking banger of an album no matter what. Thrice is home. Love 'em.
Thrice if you hear this... I love the new stuff but please please pretty please go back to your roots for one album pleaseeeee! Id even settle for a couple tracks to bring me back
First song of theirs I had ever heard, fell in love with the sound. Starting to dig deeper in to their music, can't wait to hear more. Any suggestions on favorite albums, songs?

Josh Green, Thrice.. @49 years... I remember them early. Great Smart Guys. ABOUT TIME THEY CAME BACK STRONG!! Go Thrice.....
My favorite rock band stronger than ever on this album. 20 years and 10 albums, always adding new aspects, always being relevant. Just thank you so much for all of this.
🙌🙌🙌
Im not even over "To Be everywhere is to be nowhere" and they drop a new album. Im so overwhelmed.
right?????
These guys can never be boring they just keep growing and evolving but somehow are always able to keep their “own” sound idk how they do it
Man. Through all these years they're still killing it. Constantly on top of my list
The bass tone is amazing
Indeed
Damn Thrice is going on ten albums now? That’s dope when you consider all of them are great.
mmeh. I keep trying cause I used to love them so much but I disagree. They became so fuckin boring.
I keep trying...
All of the newest albums are incredible. Bands that put the same crap out album after album are boring as hell. Thrice is not.
dope? lol.
@@bhudzietz333 Yeah that's the false dichotomy the were using as well.

Love the references in the video from their last album. The butterfly, the window, the tidal wave. Very cool cinematography and song.
My first band that got me into rock. Absolutely love this band and they always have good songs. Amazing job Thrice and keep it up!

Always consistent. Thrice has always ruled.
Throwback to Beggars and Vehissu; what an amazing sound, guys.
Sounds like they've been listening to a little Mastodon.
They've been reading this exact comment btw, they've been referencing to it on an interview
Like fine wine these guys keep getting better. Thank you so much for all the great music spanning too may years.

Fuck, Dustin's voice ages like fine wine. I love Thrice so much.
Speaks volumes.
First Pale Waves' announcement and now Thrice. September 14th is going to be the best day ever!

Always improving thier sound and making it thier own

I'm so stoked for this album release. Such an amazing band for the ages
Another masterpiece from this incredible band. Can’t wait for the new album.
Was at the London show to see their first live performance of this song! They just get better with age
Thrice has been around since 1998. I'm glad to see they haven't changed.
Sure they have changed, you just don't whine like some fans when they do. We get it, others don't.
Wtf? Thrice hasn't changed? Is there even a band that changed MORE than Thrice? I don't get you guys.

All the people just getting into Thrice cause the last single...... This one reminds me of Foo at times.....still great.
Love that there is a video for this track now. I uploaded a guitar cover of it when the audio-only UA-cam video dropped. Love Thrice 🤘🏻😝🤘🏻

what a great song!
Every album has its own feel! I love your guy's music so much! Good job on making yourselves so unique!
This album is gold.. took a few listens, but it finally hit the mark. Best of rock.. bass tone reminds me of something out of a Puscifer album
New Thrice Album, awesome. What is everyone else listening to at the moment that is fairly current !
so excited to see this one live this year
