Hope you find this useful! Again, as a reminder, Twitch subs and UA-cam channel members gain access to some private channels in my Discord where I share raw thoughts about the patch much earlier than this, so if you're someone who likes to keep up to date on what's happening and why, feel free to check that out. You can join here: discord.gg/tbSbSYQrkn . More content to come soon! P.S: Might bring 1-tricking streams to my Twitch channel soon. Expect an update on my Community page when those are coming!
Quick, consice, and applicable. Found your channel off the jazz comp guide you did when set 10 first came out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It's helpful and appreciated. Hoping this helps with the yt algorithm. Happy gaming, may the RNG be ever in your favour.
I think twitch is a sleeper, his headliner bonuses are one of the strongers in the 1 -2star champions, being able to do both magic and phy dmg is also a plus, and he can deal damage to other units even if you get stuck in the tank of the opponent.
Thanks for the great content! I have a few topics that I would be interested in learning more about. Maybe you can make videos about them at some point (no pressure). Items: I never know what items are considered BiS/acceptable for various units throughout the game and because of that I either struggle to slam items or struggle to transition to something reasonable with the items I have slammed. For example, if I slam BT I'm probably playing some melee line but I could also build JG and play Jax or put BT on Urgot and JG on Vex and play Country. Alternatively, I could continue building melee items and play around Akali/Viego/Zed on the way to fast 9 then either keep those units or move the items to something like Qiyana or Yorick. Another possible alternative is you still slam JG and play melee flex then hope to put items on a Kayn later. All these branching lines based on items gets very confusing very fast, especially when some units or comps are critically dependent on specific items. What are some general fundamental principles that can be used to figure these things out? Stats: Stats in TFT seem to be misconstrued very often and it can be unclear what inherent biases exist in various numbers. If you could make a guide on the correct way to use stats platforms and account for potential bias in stats I'm sure that would be valuable to many people.
Appreciate the ideas! "Good" items are identified mostly using stats, although there is some intuition required at times (e.g: augments can affect BiS and you often are not going to know off the top of your head what is BiS with every augment combo). Stats can be tricky to navigate, but you don't need to know too much about bias to use them effectively. Most of the top players I see just look at negative delta and intuition. I'll consider going into these in more detail eventually (I do want to look into making higher level TFT videos soon rather than just patch updates).
@@GM_Blue Thanks for the brief overview - I guess I'll study up on some stats. Do you recommend just looking up every unit 2* then sorting by delta and using some common sense with sample sizes? I would love to see some more high level content for sure. Things like how to evaluate your spot and play for placement when losing or how to come up with a better future board and build towards pivots without hurting econ or board strength or advanced positioning and scouting. There's tons of advanced concepts that I'd love to learn more about that are rarely discussed in an organized fashion.
Leave it sorted by number of games. Sorting by delta will misguide you into some really strange itemizations or rare items (e.g: radiants) that only work in some situations (e.g: unique augment combos). I'd stick to just looking at most popular items and then identifying among the top 20 or so which ones have the best delta.@@sam.0021
Nice guide, I just feel like considering Kayn high A-Tier and S-Tier if you're going melee carries for your game. Especially with HoJ / Titan / BT. (D2 Player) Penta-Edgelord 5 cost board is a very good alternative to the Jazz one, the same one that Dishsoap showed if you have gold-lvl boost start.
i really like this set but i can definitely see why people don’t enjoy this set. the headliner mechanic forces you to be flexible with your comps and can’t really one trick the same comp,
I would put aphelios on C if not because of his heartsteel, his ability is just bullshit overkill, ive never find my aphelios use it effectively, he'll be using it on 5% enemy that about to be dead anyway I also think shojin still, better than blue buff, blue buff is just worse shojin especially for unit that need 50+ mana anyway i also think guinsho is a go to item throughout the game, the stacking attack speed is noticeable for every unit especially in early game, later you also notice how smooth ezreal with that little touch of attack speed, and later it scales with jhin passive to convert all of those attack speed
i think people thought punk reroll is a low elo pick but it seems maybe its getting played still high elo idk, seems like maybe the verdict isn't out yet on jinx from what I've seen
@@alexlzim I've heard more complaints about this set than I have any other. I personally like it, but yeah "EVERYONE ENJOYS IT BUT YOU" is some dumb fucking thinking.
Personally I think it's great, to an extent that it should become a permanent feature of TFT. My reasoning is simple: You now have so much more flexibility of finding an upgraded unit that can actually use the items you slammed in the early game. You're not "forced" to play the same comp from the beginning of the game to the end of the game like it felt in Set 9. Would prefer if they kept the idea of finding upgraded units in shops, but removed the +1 trait and headliner effect aspects for future sets. Make it so all it provides is an upgraded unit. While there are feel-bad moments in this set, I never feel like I am sitting there with a 1 star board while everyone else hit on the 4-1 lottery. You can argue there is a 4-2 lottery, because there definitely is, but it doesn't feel as bad as the 4-1 level 7 lottery felt because you have more options now than ever before. My two cents.
@@GM_Blue I think more ways of guaranteeing upgraded units is great, and I do enjoy the flexibility. It's forcing me to adjust my playstyle when before I was just a one trick pony in every set I played (and coincidentally, the first set with this mechanic I absolutely hated because I couldn't figure it out back then). However, I do think it would get stale if every set was like this. Some mechanics, like augments, I'm glad they've kept, because augments keep each game fresh. But I wouldn't want this mechanic to be permanent, even if they take out the whole +1 trait and the effects you mentioned. I think a mechanic like this helps a set feel special and stand out, so I'd rather if they kept it to when it's thematically appropriate, and try to find other ways to spice up the game in interesting ways in the following sets.
I’m definitely torn on this. On one hand, the game is definitely much more flexible right now, which is healthy for the game competitively on all levels. On the other hand, the game is much more complicated when so many options are on the table, making it less fun for casual people that need to follow a structured game plan from clear signals. It’s conceptually similar to the differences between classical and jazz musicians. One wants to know exactly what to play based on the piece, the other just wants to play loosely within the structure. I do enjoy this set, but there are times when I think RNG plays an even heavier factor when people luck into amazing headliners. This kind of situation is suffered primarily by lower ELO players as pivoting based on your opponents fortune is not easy without a lot of game knowledge. The complaints are fair given that most people playing aren’t pro. I do however think that for competitive people playing high ELO, this set is up there as one of the best. The question is, if most people don’t like it, is it bad? Or are they simply worse at it because it requires more skill and game knowledge than previous sets. Do you listen to the pros or the plebs when making this argument? And do the fans like watching it? The answer is probably a balance of all of them. I would personally rank their opinion’s relevance as such: Pros>Casuals>Fans. In a competitive game, the quality of competition is what matters most, and right now the competition is very high, which I think objectively makes it a successful set regardless of subjective opinion. Where it stands in the tier list of sets will come down to a more general consensus from across the spectrum.
I know u fake cuz you think Jax is the best comp right now EDIT: Serious answer since some people will probably not get this. Go look at Jax stats as you go up in elo. They get worse and worse because it falls off hard against capped boards and often relies on hitting ahead of tempo.
Add to that people holding your jaxes I mean Jax is a S tier comp at the moment but needs some conditions to be met. But its not at all the best comp. Like you don't auto first place with it
I think Jax is pretty bad as a item holder (two star) but the comp is still pretty good in not absolutely top elo (I play emerald and I finished much top fours with him)
I think that putting Vi in C-tier is just straight wrong. This seems like you cant play her, i often 5 streaked with Vi with the the right item opener.
@@anderskjllesdalhansen9580 if you get gnar Jax opener stuff like hoj bt evenshroud even Titans is good. I will say vi is defently not great just pretty good in some spots like 4 mosher + Pantheon with healing+tank item.

Great vid! Another idea that might be useful is having a guide on emblems, which ones to make and how to use them, OP tome of traits options, etc.
Great tier list. Appreciate the info. Hopefully going to be able to use it to push from emerald to diamond. Thanks!

I loved forcing Twitch carry when he was a 1-cost assassin and i love playing him now.

Neeko 5 super fans is A tier for me into KDA. Unkillable with radiant tank item 3 starred as well

well u cant one trick the same comp but u can always play whatever headliner u get
I've been abusing Sena, even to the point I force it every game. Started using it when I was hardstuck emerald 3, now I'm diamond 2 lol
Jax B tier?
Did you guys know that Heartsteel is the best opener? It’s really strong to play around Heartsteel.

Yes! Keep putting Riven in B tier so I can spam her 👌 whatever her headliner if you hit 3 star riven you get top 4 easily.
I'm kinda just waiting for next set tbh, I really dislike the chosen/ headliner mechanic. First set in while I've just stopped playing.
Everyone enjoys it but you
