Great review. Very accurate and informative. I am an instructor at UoPeople in the business department. I assure you that your instructor would like to hear from you and you shouldn't feel awkward or intimidated when communicating with them. Many of us instructors are teaching at UoPeople because we enjoy our subject matter and want to help students succeed. Please, feel free communicating with your instructor!

This is great! 30 is definitely not late to start a new career. I have taught myself how to program but I am now 40 and am considering getting a computer science degree. There is a really strange narrative where people think that CS is a young persons profession.

Awesome video! I’m almost done with the Associates requirements, and will continue on to Bachelors in CS at UoPeople. Took me a long time, haha, but the flexibility they offer is great for someone like me balancing another full time career and 4 kids . I made a video about UoPeople in 2018, so proud to see how far our university has come.

    • @changkao_

Omg I understand why it takes so long for you with the study. I can’t even think of how I could handle with work and 4 kids like yours. That’s just too much.
I’m checking your video right now. I think your video is one among the first about UoPeople. You should do more school vlogs, this community would be more fun 🥳 Hope for a collab video some day.
Honestly studying alone is boring for me, making vlogs like this kinda give me more motivation to continue 😂😂😂
Keep it up with your study. Cheers from UoPeople!

Hi Chi, I have a question. I’m considering enrolling at UoPeople to obtain an Associates in C.S. Is there a lot of math involved so far in your journey? I already have a bachelors degree in Psych but math is not my strong suit so I worry I will struggle. Thank you for the video! 😊

    • @changkao_

Hi em! Honestly I wish it would be more complicated math as what I expected before enrolling CS.
After few courses I don’t see that much math involved, just really basic ones….it’s more about the logical thinking and syntax memorizing. But I guess being good at math does help a lot studying this major for the long term.
You probably should try, you have the option of quitting thou if you don’t feel it fit 😄

    • @changkao_

Of course graduating from a prestigious university is a big bonus. Based on my past studying and working experience. Besides the degree certificate, there're still tons of things count such as extra social activities, part-time job, internship,... and actual skills you have. And these seem even more important.
As what I know, universities in America and Europe are open to get students from UoPeople to transfer credits and move there. I'm not sure about Asia. But I believe when it's American accredited, there should be a big chance for students for extra study or jobs in Asian market.

The scholarship will be deducted directly to your course fee. For example: each course costs 120$, the scholarship deducts 90$ then you just need to pay 30$. Except for you getting full scholarship u don’t need to pay otherwise you always need to pay some amount but which deduction already for the courses. Where are you from?
The diploma is accepted in America (there were cases of people who already getting jobs already) and some Western countries and might be in other countries.
There’s nothing sure about it until you apply for the job in your country actually. I hope it works for your local country.

@@thaesandi1636 there were people getting jobs in America with UoPeople degree. it’s accredited degree in America so it’s obvious acceptable in there but regarding the job I think of course it requires other tons of practical skills not just a university certificate so …

It’s valid & accredited degree in America so it could for sure be used in America.
A lot of universities in Europe accepting credits transferring from UoPeople so it somehow means it’s accepted there.
I’m not sure about Asia or other part of the world, I haven’t seen any actual cases yet.
But I believe there’s a big chance that it’s possible to use that degree outside of America

The accreditation reform act of 2020 basically removed regional vs national accreditation. If it is recognized by the U.S. dept of education, and Council for Higher education accreditation, it's valid degree, UoPeople checks both boxes because it is accredited thru the Distant Education Accrediting agency ( D.E.A.C. ).

only "legit" one is regional accreditation. UofP is "nationally accredited", meaning that it is unlikely to get transfer credit (that you earn at UofP) to colleges and universities. Of course, you can transfer credit (that you earn at other regionally accredited colleges) to UofP.
