I like WYZE products, and that's why I'll take the time to share this feedback. I am a radio engineer, and have been working with military and commercial cellular radios for 34 years. WiFi is a best effort packet transport path. WiFi will never be a perfect packet transport mechanism. In my home, WYZE products: cameras, thermostats, smart bulbs, outlet are among the most sensitive to WiFi imperfections. The worst in this category is Tablo. In both cases, WiFi imperfections induce software faults that require power cycle and even reset to clear. Now that WYZE has its own WiFi product, I hope that WYZE can test and improve product robustness / recovery in the presence of inevitable WiFi imperfections.
I love you guys! I literally jumped out of my seat when I seen this. I’ve been staying away from 6e due to insane prices and here you guys go doing your thing. I love Wyze man!!!
I currently have a 4-router mesh network but I'd swap it immediately for the NVR capability of your new system. I have 12 total Wyze cams on the network, vacuum, and several other Wyze products. All work great, looking forward to the mesh router!
The local NVR functionality is what most have been waiting for. Lets hope that can be used without extra cost and the Wyze router can be used in bridge mode by folks who already have solid wifi.
Or maybe they should just add SMB functionality to their cameras instead of making us spend extra on hardware. Xiaomi did it on theirs, no hardware reason for wyze not to.
Not sure if it’s my internet, but my Wyze app wont load at all. Wyze support wont help either. Also some suggestions for you guys to make more money and satisfy everyone: 1: app load faster 2: dark mode for the app 3: simultaneous camera viewing when not in the same group
I like the fact you do a mesh network. But another solution is to make the cameras have HARDWIRE connectivity standard. Some of us do run Cat6 everywhere... In the meanwhile - where do I buy these? I don't see them on your website.
Thanks for your great work guys. Herman - thank you for the three months abroad away from family to bring us this new gear. I can’t wait to test it fully.
Does it support multiple SSID's and VLANs? It's extremely important to me to be able to separate my smart-home devices - Wyze Cams included - from the rest of my devices. Otherwise, very exciting news!! Especially the local cam DVR!
While we don't have an estimate as to when Wyze Mesh Router Pro will be available, please feel free to keep an eye out on our newsletters and social media channels for more info as it comes along. 😀
Will Wyze improve the process of moving your devices over to the new router? I recently had to replace a router and had to move each device individually. Very time consuming!
Yeah, they came up with a really cool way to accomplish that. Keep your WiFi name and Password. When setting up the Wyze, make sure it’s the same name and password. Voila! Instantly everything works! Worst case, Some devices might need a reboot!
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. As long as you use the same username and password as the previous router during the setup process, this should automatically move all of your Wyze devices.
Hi John! While there is a 1500 sq ft of coverage per Mesh Router, the Wi-Fi connection range depends on factors like the distance of your cameras or the thickness and material of your walls. Also, Wyze Mesh Routers are only compatible with other Wyze Mesh Routers to be used as additional satellite routers to expand your coverage. You can learn more about this here: www.wyze.com/products/wyze-mesh-router
Thanks so much for your suggestion! To make sure that this doesn't get lost in the business of social media, would you mind either adding this or voting for this on our official wishlist? Here's a link: forums.wyze.com/c/wishlist/12
The plug in's you guys have. Why do they stick out so far from the wall? even after you plug in the USB cable, they stick out even further which makes it hard trying to place them in areas. The plug and cable stick out like 7 to 8 inches. Why can they not have slim foldable plug ins?
I already have a Wifi 6E mesh network can I add a Wyze as an additional node to expand the Wifi 6E network I’ve already got? Specifically Deco TP-Link … my Netgear mesh wireless router does not play well with the Deco network and if I try to add it for additional coverage … the whole network takes a dump
Two questions, are these specially designed to make otherwise products work more seamlessly? And will this allow us to view cameras while our ISP is offline (view locally)?
Wyze Mesh Router was designed to support up to 50 devices per router with no loss of speed. In addition, its coverage spans up to 1,500 square feet of whole coverage per router. Also, while Wyze Mesh Router doesn't have this feature at this time, it's been a popular request! We'll make sure to pass this feedback along to our team. Hi there! When using bridge mode for a Wyze Mesh Router it needs to be connected to another Wyze Mesh Router as its root router. Furthermore, the Mesh Router does have ISP VLAN tagging. This helps Internet service providers recognize the network and makes sure the network receives the right information. With this option selected, you will be able to enter the VLAN ID. This number will need to be between 1 - 4094.

@@wyze thank you. and I also heard on another video from a wyze admin (How to set up Wyze Mesh Router), he said to make sure to disable the router, but I have a combo (modem and router in one) how would I disable just the router part?
Sorry for the late reply! While going through the setup process for the Wyze Mesh Router, connect your new router to your old router using the included Ethernet cable. During setup, make sure the Network Name (SSID) of your old router and new router are exactly the same. From there you should be all set!
My biggest issue with all of the big boy routers is..........."dependability". yea i get good coverage and speed but so many times i get Dropped, Locked or just plain shut down units My last unit is the Netgear Night Hawk XR1000. Sorry wyze... I'm a true fan, have a ton of your devices but this came out a month too late. I just went eero mesh pro 6e with 6 mesh points. I may buy one of yours for the usb storage feature for my cams but eero is working really well. I wish I would have known. Good luck with the product. Looks good.
This, especially if you want to backhaul and your speed is more than 1Gb from the ISP. Having the other port limited to just 1Gb limits the bandwidth and also to other internal home networking (i.e. NAS) as well.

I love Wyze products as much as the next person who loves Wyze products, but you should have gone with at least a WiFi 6E setup. WiFi 6 has already been usurped and isn't anywhere near as good. Still only 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands whereas 6E adds a 6GHz band as well. And some companies are already announcing WiFi 7 products which are insanely expensive, but boy do they have the speeds!
99% of devices right now don't support the 6GHz spectrum so it auto-defaults to 5GHz, which have almost the same speeds as normal wifi 6. If you can afford to make your entire wireless connection ( Phones, computers, smart home devices ) 6GHz ready then you can probably afford a better router too. Wifi 6E should be a generation to skip and just wait for wifi 7 which is more polished all around, and by the time it comes out more devices will support the extra spectrum
I don't joke about checking the wifi. I joke about how all the cameras are supposed to be viewable through chromecast and google home. my doorbell camera still doesn't show this way but my v3 does. It works in every other way but this. I also joke about how anytime something goes wrong you have to remove the devices from the system and add them again. "DiD yOu ChEcK tHe FiRmWaRe Is Up To DaTe"? Yes, I checked the most obvious solution. How about you don't make products that fail so much.
I bought the color bulbs and supposedly "transitions" were coming out so, for example, at Christmas you could have it go green, red, gold over a minute. Nope... no transitions. Nothing cool. No further innovation. Been 18 months and nothing. I have several cams. And Cam+. It's great, but slow. Detecting a person in the front yard 25 seconds after they've moved on. I've tried doing rules "detect a person, make bulb bright". So someone walks to the door, the porch never goes bright. Then after I open the door as I'm talking to them it goes bright. Bad lag. I would never trust my entire home internet to Wyze given my experience with how they get something "good enough" but never awesome.

Already have that. Everyone should and yes it cost more to get battery back up, but it is the right thing to do.
So invest in that equipment if you want it. Jesus Christ, people like you are so annoying
@@tophers3756 are u nuts ?????? If ring can do it why can't WYZE??
Neat!
Thank you for this video. Please scrap the other Wyze UA-cam video on this router. It's garbage and does a bad job promoting the product.
The Pro version has 6e.
@@tophers3756 Cool, thx for the info!
VPN capable?
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. Although Wyze Mesh Router does not support site-to-site or client-access VPNs, it does support VPN pass-through.
There are also WIFI enhancers for only $20 does the same job! - Hans
