I don't know anyone who runs 30, 40, 50 psi. I run as much as the tire will let me. Id say a bigger problem is bmx riders who put 80psi in stock tires that are only rated for 45-60 psi. I have seen a kenda contact tire literally explode. It bubbled up and while we where looking at it ( no weight on the bike) it sounded like a gun went off and blew a hole in the rubber. So make sure you don't cheap out on tires.
I put 35 in the back and I have fat tire,I'm still getting theses little slits, not tube to tire, but tube to rim..S.O.S.i have two strips on the rim and still getting flats.. thank God I meditate
Bigfoot And Bananaman most tubes, or at least the ones I come across have a little powder on the outside and my tires aren't sticky on the inside, also because the tube has to take pressure and stretch to fit the tire it can gain it's shape from that bit of pressure without getting caught.
My local bike shop stocks tubes that are 3x thickness on the outside edge and filled with slime. They're heavier but I never worry about getting flats, NOT saying I run over glass on purpose but they do help. Another tip is to clean the old tube, cut the stem from the old tube and cut around the inside of it. Now use that to cover a new tube. This can cause pinch flats, so massage the tire with about 30psi when you're refitting.
Kancer One didn't see the reply for ages but I have the vans x cult tires and as for tubes it doesn't matter I have any but then I ride at like 70psi and all of the smashed glass is either safety glass from bus stops and cars so it's small, not sharp pieces and if it's a smashed bottle the shards lay flat on the floor so they can't dig into the tire.
And you still have to be careful. Because when they get worn they cant be strong enough anymore. Because everything gets into the tire. When my.tire.get worn i saw the colour on it. And it exploded.
I've been getting flats way too often lately. Actually had one yesterday & had to lock it up & walk to Academy, then just like always, it started raining like crazy on me. FUCKING so sick & tired of flat fucking tires.
Ryan another tip you should do when putting a new tube in is put baby powder on the tube. it helps it from sticking to the tire so if you do land hard or not as smooth as you'd like the tube will slip so it doesn't tare, I do this not just on my bmx bike but also on my dirt bike. and I love the vids and keep up the good work
My LBS says this is not a good idea. Maybe it's because they won't sell as many tubes if you do this.😀 My daddy taught me otherwise when I was a kid. He ALWAYS used baby powder and rarely did I ever get a flat!
Sealant works wonders. The crew I ride with used to average one flat per ride. We tried slime and the stuff works. You'll hear a puncture, psst, psst, psst, psst, and then it seals up. Now we go months without a flat.
so pops your tube right when glass touches your tires? I run over glass all the time on accident and my tube has never popped from it. some tires are thinking than others so it's harder for things to go through them.
I don't do any of this crap. I just put tire liners on my mountain bike. If you are going to get a flat, you are going to get a flat. Carry a patch kit with you.
I knew when I ran over the glass but it was dark outside and I really didn't know how critical it was to stop and look. I was wanting to get home real bad. No way I'll do that again. If you run over glass, gotta stop right away. I didn't have a flat until I rode the glass into the tire a block down the road. I could have pulled the shard out earlier. I had to spend an hour in a dangerous very dangerous area. Finding the elevator to the bus stop on the freeway I also found a stolen purse and lots of strewn belongings of someone who obviously just got robbed. The bus finally came and already had two bikes on the front. What another hour wait? Got lucky and a guy with a bike got off. Dangerous looking guy but I was finally safe. It's much harder to put a heavy beach cruiser bike on a bus and harder still with a flat on that heavy bike.
No the annoying part about getting a flat is when you're far away from the house and you have no way to fix it then you get to stop walking the bike all the way home and it could take a long time to pending how far you are
how do tubeless ride? bcuz fix a flat changes the whole ride of my bike (weird) slow, I hate it. Wonder if tubeless suck too. probably but it would've been better than all the times I've been stranded here lately
Set up the wheel tubeless and never worry about a flat. Just search How to setup a tire tubeless Follow the instructions and then go ride. Minus a 3" hole or more you will be fine and flat free
CertifiedRider21 Never run patched tubes unless you have to. I carry one if I am riding and didn't drive to it. Only to get home. If I drove to the spot I have 2 new tunes in the car. A patch is always a weak spot or always has a weak spot...at the patch.
I used my friends tube off his old bike but he only had the tubes for a month and only used it for 5 miles and maybe 2 months. Someone tried stealing his bike but bent his frame. I have been using the tubes for at least 6 months now. I do agree with not using old used tubes though. I inspect my rim for sharp edges and use electrical tape like you said but I believe I only have one layer. I didn't think about putting more layers to prevent the spokes coming through the layer of tape. I use gorilla tape or duck tape on my inner walls of my tires of my one bike. We have really bad roads and sidewalks and that's my go anywhere bike and that seems to stop thorns or small sharp objects from poking the tube. The tires are heavier but I haven't had a flat since. The tape might help absorb the shock of the cracks on the ground or I have just been lucky. I don't think it would stop a nail but maybe glass. I put 2 layers on the inner tire if you want to give it a try. My friends tubes could have been really good tubes though. I always have a bag on my bike with food and drinks so the tire weight isn't a big deal. It's a steel frame, so with everything, it's pretty heavy but I can keep up with other people on mountain bikes and the heavy bike gives me a great workout. Lol.
Great tips Ryan. just remember tho there are some bmx tires that only go to 45 psi i had some bmx tires that went up to 125psi there is all different pressures for different tires
My teenager's bike tire goes flat like every other day and she has like a no frills cruiser thing so these tips are above and beyond and I'm excited to stop having to worry about it. I think she runs over glass and nails and small children just to spite me
I literally got brand new tubes 2 days ago and then rolled up a curb and got a flat. And then had to walk 30 kilometres back to my house with a headache and nothing to drink. My dad is fecking fuming.
Me and my mate tried double tyring the bike, basically we cut up the outer tire and put it inside the new tire, just to give it and extra layer of protection
Alternatively you can go down to your local D.I.Y store and buy a roll of damp corse for £8.99 which is enough to do the front and back wheels you can even double fold it and your inner tube will still fit .
if your going to say something back it up with some evidence like when you said your tire will condense of course it is going to any bike owner will know that and who ever is watching this is more then likely to know about that don't just say "science" sounds stupid
for removing a tire if you don't have designated plastic tire levers and your a weirdo like me and has some brass rods or any softer type of metal than what your rim is made of it will work just fine... or just roll your tire off the rim.
Needle Media not to give excuses, but I was broke and couldn't get levels lol ice cream sticks do work as they do not scratch ur rims but just becareful if they break, "splinters" may poke ur tyres thanks for replying tho love ur vids keep up the work n sure now i can buy some proper levels...
Electrical tape rim strip is life, mate.
Yeah my rims are daft.
Or duct tape
I tried the two tapes and im still getting flats, tube to tire..help

U forgot one
Put powder between tube and tire so it doesn't stick and give u a pinch flat. Great vid
Bigfoot And Bananaman thx for tip
Bigfoot And Bananaman. what type
Riorrdan Murray cocaine
Bigfoot And Bananaman most tubes, or at least the ones I come across have a little powder on the outside and my tires aren't sticky on the inside, also because the tube has to take pressure and stretch to fit the tire it can gain it's shape from that bit of pressure without getting caught.

I've ridden over so much glass and never popped a tube...
Jessentis how? What kind of tires and tubes do you have?
Good, then you most likely have a high quality tire.

Glass never gets me for the last few years it’s just pricks from Tree’s and boy is it annoying
when you have ridden as much as I have..
double or triple old tube too line the inside of the tire.
you can cut out and remove the metal circles from a tire and then double with that.
When I was done fix my wheel It got flat.I like WTF really wow why me come on😣
ExtremekillerX bruh same
Same fucking 4 tubes
R.I.P. same
i found that an old tube works amazing for a rim strip just cut it in half and it works great
Thanks for the advice
I've been getting flats way too often lately. Actually had one yesterday & had to lock it up & walk to Academy, then just like always, it started raining like crazy on me. FUCKING so sick & tired of flat fucking tires.
Great advise Y man, your parents be proud of y.I as a 58 yr old man learned new things about flats, keep it up brother.Ron
I use the closed end of a wrench as a tire lever. never gave me any issues and I've been doing it for 10+ years.

I have thin tires so I'm screwed until I get new ones I've had them for 2 months popped em 10 times already
+Milad Karimi dirt i hit goat heads all day im not dumb it is just where i ride
nothing wrong with old tubes if you know how to fix them properly
with the first step, how do i adjust the spokes n know when to stop
so close to 8k! keep it up my man!
Hey Ryan do you're wheel berings break alot mine do its sucks... and i dont know how to fix it
I have the same problem
Jimmy Alfonso its because u dont have sealed berings i did not know at the time :D
Mads Andersen Yeah i do?
Jimmy Alfonso Thats wierd then when you do 180 do you land 90?
Nope
I don't do any of this crap. I just put tire liners on my mountain bike. If you are going to get a flat, you are going to get a flat. Carry a patch kit with you.
Cool story buddy

The dangerous area was a ghetto neighborhood 😂😂

I've been riding vans tires for a little while now, and they have not popped once. I totally recommend these tires.
pretty useful tips Ryan Needle :D thanks for this tips. :)
Set up the wheel tubeless and never worry about a flat. Just search

M Davis oh thanks for the info
You capitalized the "NEVER" and after all these tips, you will still get a flat again. Get a solid rubber tire.
I love your tips. I ride a road bike but I look forward getting a BMX bike one day. I feel at home with BMX riders.
Thanks bro really helpful (:
My main concern of commuting by bicycle is getting a flat on my way to work.
what size is your bmx?
I just got my old tube and cut the inner part of it all the way around and I just put the new tube around it and my tire has never popped again
I duck tape the inside the side and tire never get flats unless I land hard but glass or thorn in straight playa.
nice truck
+Dylan Thomas thanks bud
+Dylan Thomas thanks bud
STUPIDGETRHINOTYER😬😬👹👹👹👂💨🙅
I push my bike uphills
my uncle put tire sealent in its like a foam so it will fix all leaks in the tube
Dylan Leger this only works with small punctures though. Tire sealant won't fix large punctures like nails or screws.
Can someone help me my tire keep on deflating everything time I get a new tube and I see no holes that pop it
I used my friends tube off his old bike but he only had the tubes for a month and only used it for 5 miles and maybe 2 months. Someone tried stealing his bike but bent his frame. yo have you tried getting two tubes, cut one open and wrap it around the other tube? this saved me a couple times
+Needle Media alright my man
i ride a mtb and saying use 50 to 60 psi make me so werid most mtber run 30 on average
Yea my psi is around 40 but the most psi my tires run is 50 but tubes can pop if you ride in the heat.
I like soft tires, because a hard Tire just smashes your hands when you land. Any comments on that give me a shout-out
Is it bad to just pull it off with your hand?
My teenager's bike tire goes flat like every other day and she has like a no frills cruiser thing so these tips are above and beyond and I'm excited to stop having to worry about it. I think she runs over glass and nails and small children just to spite me
Can you tell me how kevin is doing my whole family is worried
Were was kevin
The part I like when you say wtf Lmfaoo 😂😂
I've done all this and I go outside the next day and it is popped
Jay Johnston HAHAHA thats the best thing i have heard today. Sorry about that, but xD
How does that happen so quicly to me...like a new tube lasted two days
dude i had bad luck with popped tires since I ever started. I would get so angry
Any real rider knows you always need a couple backup tubes/tires
I literally got brand new tubes 2 days ago and then rolled up a curb and got a flat. And then had to walk 30 kilometres back to my house with a headache and nothing to drink. My dad is fecking fuming.
whats a tire lever for just pop that sucker on with your hands
Thank you, i will try the the rim tape. I had 2 flats in one day today. The hole seemed to be in the same area.
Tube to rim, very small slices, not any punctures
Me and my mate tried double tyring the bike, basically we cut up the outer tire and put it inside the new tire, just to give it and extra layer of protection
I'm 13 and I know nothing bout bikes but I done all the tips and it worked

Are Walmart tubes okay to use?
Umm what if i dont a have a tube in my bmx tyre its tubles
what if my tubes are 3 years old and 3 years old air
what tire you got in this vid
my tube is fine but my tire is worn down and about to be down to the tube
Wassup bro ur videos are hella fire ong
Man I live in New Mexico there’s so many goat heads I just have to get extra thick tubes.
I swear if this will work you will be a legend my tires exploded 4 times in a fucking week
Im more of a street than a park guy i run 80-90+ psi for my rear wheel and 60 - 70+ psi for my front. It definitely helps landing big jumps
Yeah me too, the rear tire takes tye impact first so i go 10 psi more there
Thanks man this really helped. Make more vids like this!
#11, Go tubless or use Slime Tube Sealant.
Where can i get good BMX Wheels
Well the tube does get wore out like anything else and fail
Well presented with no drama or screaming the latest streaming music. Thanks for retelling what we know and forget for some stupid reason,
Number 10 I never knew about that always thought it was a slow leak
my tyres say to use at 45 but I run at 110 how tf does that work?
I cut the valve stem of the tube I popped and use it as a tire liner.
I keep hoping up curbs and getting a flat anyone know why?
Casing it
use this outtro more?
+Needle Media the song at the end
tip #11 you can cut your old popped tube down the middle seam and place over the new tube for a little more protection
That's what i do plus my slime tube and also precaution i have not gotten a flat in 2 years on my same BMX
+JivmVII do you have a Walmart bike cause they never get flats
Thats a pretty silly assumption. I have a 100% fully custom Fit Benny 2 2013.
+JivmVII 😂
Tip #12 buy a new one.
Rim strips?
I run over *SO* much glass and I've never got a flat, but when I do a jump and land on a rough little stone, my tire explodes like a nuke lol
I run my tyres at 20 psi
100mph+?
But tires cant run
I run 27 psi exact
Rowuri yes idiot
Colosabeast Epic I think I run 30 psi and I Have really old tires
This first clip when you said what, thats me 2 weeks before xD
Man U deserve so many more subs
there's tips help to me a lott my iner tubs don't pop after this vido
His name is ryan higa do you know ryan the UA-camr
is slime useful?
His old name was iiNeedle?
Remember me Ryan u talked to me a while ago due your awesome at bmx I love your channel
I ride through glass all the time dude. never gave me a flat because of the toughness of the tires and the pressure in my tubes.
troy barnhouse what psi you run?
What if you just ride a rim
I do everything u say not to do.Iearned a lot from this vid thx
Thanks haven't poped a tire in like 6 months
why do people put tennis balls in the wheels
used to play wall with friends or road hockey, and a tennis ball usually came in handy.
Martin Milev so spokes don't snap
+ED HENSON I thought it was so hubs don't get dirty
thanks dude very helpful tips and btw you got a siiick frame dude i love it
His reaction to seeing his flat ass tire 😂😂😂😂
if your going to say something back it up with some evidence like when you said your tire will condense of course it is going to any bike owner will know that and who ever is watching this is more then likely to know about that don't just say "science" sounds stupid
Well stated my good man!
i’ve popped over 2 tubes in 1 day just by doing bunny hops and hitting it on the side walk 😐
for removing a tire if you don't have designated plastic tire levers and your a weirdo like me and has some brass rods or any softer type of metal than what your rim is made of it will work just fine... or just roll your tire off the rim.
Most worse moment in your life is running over a nail on a electric dirt bike 4 nabroohood from yours and u have to talk it
Fuck all the steps just go tubeless
😂😂😂
willem newhouse yea thats how we do 👹👹
willem newhouse no thanks tubeless is a pain
Bigfoot And Bananaman well its a pain reading your comment
Tubeless doesnt work on bmx
Literally the day after my tire starts bulging!
mtt tires withstand alot of glass js
damn thanks ryan this really helped me
i changed my tube with ice-cream stick XD
Needle Media
not to give excuses, but I was broke and couldn't get levels
lol ice cream sticks do work as they do not scratch ur rims but just becareful if they break, "splinters" may poke ur tyres
thanks for replying tho
love ur vids keep up the work
n sure now i can buy some proper levels...
Do not ripoff your neighbors tube, that was very funny.
I actually did that lmao
I run 100 psi with odyssey tires
What happens if u don't have $ for tires and your tire is so stretched that you can get it on by hand😁
I can think of more stressful situations
try supermax condoms with the purple head for rim its the best!
