I took an LV bag (that was preloved) to LV in New York for repair and they replaced the hardware and straps free of charge. You should try at your boutique again because for the premium prices they charge, they should also deliver the quality care and customer service that goes along with that and the LV in NYC did.
@@ad4621 that sounds about right, I had a strap replaced for roughly the same price. That said my LV bags & SLG’s are still in pretty good shape even now at 20-30years, so the repairs were worth it.
I just wanted to say how quickly you became one of my favorite youtubers !! You are so refreshing and interesting to listen to, and your vlogs and videos always deliver such good quality! I really appreciate your time and effort in putting up your videos so consistently and with such quality, thank you
My speedy is 20 years old - bought for my champagne birthday. Still looks pretty good! Materials back then were made better. I also have a preloved keepall 50 from the 80s! Girl it is PERFECT! Same with my classic flaps. They are from 2008 where it was 24K gold plating. Smooth as butter 🧈 and hardly any flaws. Enjoy your bags and continue to use them! Thanks for the video!! Great stuff!
Hiiii! Just dropping by to say your videos cure my monday-blues. I usually watch them during lunch at work and they are relaxing!❤ And i love how intentional you are in your purchases and you advocate for actually using your bags🎉
Hi. I have the same issue with my LV hardware. I clean it with Brasso every couple of months. It looks like brandnew and so shiny. Steph (another UA-camr - Handbagholic) talked about it on her channel. It really works 😊 Greetings from Belgium
Thank you for so much for the advice! One suggestion about baby wipes is to dry with clean cloth afterwards. I don’t use baby wipes except on LV canvas. Because the baby wipes are wet and still have some ingredientes, I don’t know what that does to the leather overtime. Specially white leather. After you clean the bag with the baby wipe, just dry that residual wetness of the wipe, is my suggestion. I use Tarrago Leather Care Balm for Chanel Lambskin and other leather bags. I heard about it in another YT channel. There are many leather cleaners out there. Always try in a non noticeable area.
Hermes spa can do very little in regard to Epsom leather, especially if the leather is rubbed and grains are faded - nothing can be done with that. Not sure about color transfer, hopefully they can help! Would be keen to see what you find out! And yes - it goes back to what you always said - lambskin / smooth leather or more naturally textured leather can be cared for more easily. I’m leaning towards to smooth leather now too myself! It’s a learning process! A journey!
Forget about the bags. Your hair in the thumbnail is amazing! How do you care for it?? Do you have any extensions in by any chance?? Need a hair care routine
I'm absolutely smitten with creation is pure perfection! However, the price tag is a bit steep. But, after owning one for a bit, I discovered some amazing duplicates that deliver the same luxurious feel at a much lower cost. And, I must say, the quality of some of these alternatives is just as impressive, without the hefty price tag. It's honestly been a game changer for me..
Hey Lou, just so you know…make sure on your Hermes bags you don’t use leather cleaners or you want to take it to the spa, since they will refuse to work on it if it has already been treated by any cleaner before. I just took an item and they asked me if it has ever been treated before and I said no because I knew it hadn’t, and they said it was a good thing if not they wouldn’t work on it since they do not want to risk having their treatments react with whatever treatment was done before and risk messing up the piece. Just thought you would want to know. Aside from that don’t be afraid of going to the Spa the service is fenomenal as one should expect from Hermes! 😊
You are so right with lambskin! After your video I checked out my vintage double flap (she is 29 years old) and on the outside there are no scratches! And the corners are still in perfect condition there are just some creases in the leather. I've got her in the beginning of this August and now I am even more in love with her.❤
Hi Lou! I always enjoy watching your videos. Like you, I have many of the same habits in regards to taking care of my handbags. However, I'd like to try a handbag pillow. I've always used folded towels inside my bags, but I like the idea of the pillows. Thanks for sharing! Take care and thank you!💕
I'm shocked by the LV one considering the price, its really bad. My lambskin Chanel has wear also on the corners, so I'm not sure if its the fact it is Cavier...but Lambskin for life! its like butter and wipes very well like you said. The dusty look in the mini Dior is why I refuse to buy a white bag, I think it is the fact it is white and leather, no matter what - it will store dust from the air alone. Anyway, Wish me luck Lou! my wedding is in 3 weeks time!
That is the reason why I am thinking of selling my LV mini pouchette and my Alma BB. I also own the pouchette and the cle and in ALL the hardware is tarnished.
with me the issues are lambskin bags. I've noticed corner wear is way faster on mine. now after seeing your caviar have corner wear it makes me think if it has to do with color and also how long they dye them.
I have the exact same LV speedy 25 bandouliere as you and the hardware on mine is definitely scratched up but not nearly as much as yours. I was pretty shocked at how extreme the fading of the gold is on the parts that you showed and I understand your frustration. Maybe bring it in one last time just to see if they can do anything. Thank you for making this video. It's really helpful. ❤
I would go back to LV and tell them you’re concerned at the defect because of how quickly it happened. Ultimately, if the Atelier (workshop) agrees with you that its a defect, they can remove the charge for service which the store cannot do.
Only in my Speedys that some hardware tarnished( the ones in the straps are still shiny tho). Imagine if their hardware are as hard wearing like their canvas? It's a pretty indestructible bag! Only my canvas in Ebene bags I can go under the rain and not worry a bit. My vachetta ones are getting patina-ed that I started not to worry about watermarks. I bet my Chanel caviar,Gucci and ysl leather bags can handle a bit of rain but who wanna risk that right😅??. I guess light colored leather does show more wear than darker ones so it's a big factor.
Hi Lou, I know that unfortunately you no longer have the classic flap bag small white Chanel but I wanted to know if you were happy with it, if it was not too fragile and that it did not damage by the fact that it is white? Is what the corners were damaged as on your blue Tiffany? Thank you in advance for your reply. Best regards ❤
I have the same issue with my Caviar Classic Flap! I have no idea how to prevent any further sagging. I've just accepted it and use it as a beater bag because I no longer care lol
I have a large LV agenda, the same one that you have (the brown one) and I noticed that the hardware on the closure started losing its color shortly after purchasing it. It’s pretty much now silver. Did you have the same issue with yours? I’m wondering if I should go back to the store with it.
Wow the tarnishing is bad. After a few months is totally crazy! Ive had mine for almost 3 years and the hardware is all still amazing. I think they should replace it. I dont think tarnishing that fast is normal
Try some Brasso, and a tarnishing cloth, it transforms the hardware. I have been using Brasso for years, just give it a wipe over every few months to keep it shiny

That isn’t common or good in my opinion, LV should replace the bag. Try talking to the manager. I do notice the hardware on my speedy 25 in Emprient leather that i just purchased is much nicer than the one you show here in canvas and on my neverfulls. I do think they use different hardware for the cheaper bags unfortunately but that still shouldn’t happen. Call manager for the store you bought it from. Good video.

Hi how many mm is your bag organizer? Is it 1.2mm or 2mm? I saw they have two options on the bag&sense website.
They are bags that you use, so no matter how careful you are, there’s always going to be wear and tear. You just have to accept that fact.
