The soil is Kanuma, an acidic soil from Japan normally. The moss on top is sphagnum moss. It keeps the roots moist. The moss isn't always needed, but it is when roots are exposed on the surface after repotting in small containers such as this.

So little soil in the repot, what fertiliser and how often do you feed it?

Is it best to defoliate (remove leaves) at the beginning of spring? I'm working on structure with my azalea right now so I don't need flowers yet.

Textbook is important and you had better reading textbook. But to us, we have no time. that is why we cut when we can cut. Autumn, winter, spring, we can cut, but we can not cut in summer. Thank you very much.

How do I get my azaleas to rebloom again

Thank you for watching. Sorry but we do not know your tree condition. There are many reasons of no blooming. For example, fertilizer, how to cut branch, Pot size, and so on. So sorry but I can not answer about your question.
