- Have you ever wondered how far you can stretch your money while traveling? In this video, we try the challenge of surviving on just $10 for an entire day in the coastal city of Durrës, Albania.
My goal for this video was to get breakfast, lunch, dinner AND entertainment in between for only $10 dollars. (1000 Lek) This is a challenge I've always wanted to try but I've never had the chance. In Albania however, it's more than possible! I stuck to cheaper street food and free activities to make this possible. We hit some snags in the road but also got some bonuses in as well!
Join me on this crazy challenge of surviving a day in Durrës, Albania, on just $10. Whether you're a budget traveler or just someone who is up for a challenge this video will satisfy your travel cravings! If you want to see more travel vlogs like this consider subscribing!

WHO AM I:
I'm Zac, a 26 year old Canadian living in a new country every month with my Fiancee Jessica? I like challenging myself to experience as many new things as possible on my travels!
Great video! I am born and raised in Durrës!! You brought some great memories 🙂
It’s an interesting town, I feel like you’d always miss the food and the people here!!!
hey bro after spending $25 for a burger today in LA i enjoyed watching your video hahaha... Albania is one of the few countries I still did not visit in Europe yet and it looks fun, nice beaches ... enjoy your trip .
I really do feel for you, those prices are going to hurt my soul when I go back to North America 😅
@@gofortheunknown will you travel to Turkey after there?
Not right away but hopefully later in the year, Asia is up next for the summer months!
keep going! really interesting place
Can’t stop, won’t stop! 😁
You get a thumbs up just for the look on your face as you drink Raki. 😂
The colosseum is actually worth it
You can see where the gladiators fought
And there’s some old surviving afrescos
Ahh maybe I’ll have to spend the money now…
Excellent video:) Stay away from the alcohol..... that looked painful. It's so nice to hear about how careing the Albania people are. I did a like for you:)
It was painful… but still sorta good. The Albania people really are awesome, I haven’t said much about them yet but after that interaction I needed to. Thanks for the like, glad my pain was worth it haha 😂
I love the good raki. But you must ask the owner beforehand.
Is Albanian moonshine called raki.
It’s a little rough for me 😂
If a Canadian is saying we’re caring, that means a lot.
It’s rare to find people that can compare to Canadian kindness but Albanians really do, it was hard to see at first because of the language barrier but after a bit it was clear how important taking care of each other really is!
I understand your challenge if you can survive with that amount of money but are you going as tourist there or on surviving show are you there to teach how to be the cheapest tourist on Albania ,
I leave in Toronto and you know how much you pay on Restaurants here
Enjoy your stay there but be little bit more spender to enjoy it more
It was really just to show how cheap everything in Albania is and how affordable it is as a tourist. I definitely spent my fair share, what I would spend on a budget meal at a restaurant in Toronto got me one of the best meals of my life in Albania. I had a great time there don’t worry! 😁
Are you Canadian
That about and out is really outing you
Proud Canadian indeed!
Seems like lots of construction going on , growing city
They are definitely working on a lot! It’s cheap now but it probably won’t be in a number of years…
@@gofortheunknown 100%, seaside apartment with 350$ rent is not gonna last long
That was my first thought, I’m staying here for 650 CAD steps from the water and I thought it was too much of a bargain! I just hope the locals don’t get screwed when prices go up!
@@gofortheunknown we’re already screwed
You don’t understand that 5 years ago it was $150 a month to rent an apartment by the beach in Durres
Omg that’s actually insane…
Did you get the burger 🍔 from the restaurant under the hotel 🏨 on the beach,is called Venera , hotel and restaurant.
First burger I had there with chips 🍟 salad cheese, was perfect,
But second time, different because the girl who is the waiter cooked it,
And missing all salad 🥗 😩 no cheese and just 8 little chips on plate for same price, 2.5 usd.
No never ended up there surprisingly, went to a lot of places on that beach and that wasn’t one
Man spend 40 leke left for a mini chips, drink some rakia then eat some chips then rakia again then chips 😂😂
The raki was clouding my judgement by that point 😂
