No you can change the quality in settings so even if he was far away it’d still look good
I have that vary doorbell and the batteries don’t last a week and it doesn’t hook up to the module inside easily.

Why does my recently installed blink does not show live feed only when the doorbell is rung?
Lol no matter the battery no matter rechargeable or not I never get more then 2 months 😂 and that’s settings turned down so yeah you will never get 2 years even if it was just sitting in a box with batteries in lol not a chance

Even if it is wired it can't be directly powered via wired. The wire is to work with existing mechanical/digital chime
Mine lasts maybe 2 months and we have to switch it and I've tried different battery combos. 2 Energizer AA seems to last the longest.
Night mode is alright, but if somebody was vreaking in idk if they'd get a good ID on the person due to the lag of the video.
We have multiple of the blink cameras for our house, but mostly just to check on my pets.
You do have to also pay for subscription with BLINK. Its not much, but its something i believe should be stated clearly.
Get RING or NIGHTOWL instead. Much better quality video and audio and battery life and worth the extra money.
I bought these and returned it for the Ring branded doorbell because it doesn't allow for live viewing. People visiting might go back thinking no one's at home until this thing decides to show you who's at the door.

No you would need the pin. I accidently attached the wall mount on the doorbell without actually mounting it next to my door and it's so hard to remove i still haven't gotten it.

Trust me do not buy this doorbell camera🤷♂️ I had it but the loading times for live view is trash. Every time someone would ring my camera it would take literally 10 or more minutes to load. I bought the ring camera and no complains.

I have this and some Blink Mini wired indoor cameras. What I like BEST is when someone rings it, it plays the chime sound out of all the cameras’ speakers AND my 2nd gen echo dot!
Its terrible. Only good thing about it is the sound is half clear. The night vision doesnt puck anything up and has a blurry spot in the middle and the app doesnt let you download anything anymore despite subscriptions. Tape all the way.

I had this and I wasn’t satisfied the blink module is always disconnecting, and buying batteries to keep my doorbell online gets too expensive plus it’s a constant issue because if it isn’t one its the other. I got so annoyed that I switched to ring doorbell because it has rechargeable batteries and it was on sale for the holidays so win win right?! Also I purchased backup batteries that I fully charged and it’s ready to go for when my batteries need replacing that way it’s never down not for long at least and also no module required and honestly thank goodness 😅 the no module was what sold me I pay a small subscription which is fine blink also has a subscription I didn’t think blink subscription was worth it I think it’s more expensive than ring doorbell and they are both owned by Amazon I think Amazon recently took over ring I’m not sure because I remember when I was looking to purchase a doorbell ring was too expensive at the time and blink was affordable so I went with that purchase I don’t remember ring doorbell being owned by Amazon at the time maybe I wasn’t paying attention but when searching to switch this time during my switch I discovered it’s owned by Amazon so I purchased it because I have Amazon devices plus I love Amazon and I originally wanted a ring doorbell when I purchased the blink but I couldn’t afford it at the time so I went with what I could afford now don’t get me wrong the blink is beautifully designed I liked it a lot I just hope future models will get upgraded to rechargeable and get rid of the module I hate the module most of all. But if they make it where it stands alone with no module required that would be fantastic and for it to be rechargeable that would be awesome hopefully they upgrade it soon and keep it at a moderate price I would go back to blink because overall I liked it a lot.
Mine absolutely sucks. This is my second one. The first randomly died. Now the second is dead too. Garbage.

The battery does not last two years it last me at most and I said generously two month!! The live function takes ten second and my WiFi is over 300mbps.

Haha the one they sent me was the biggest pile of junk I’ve ever had. Returned it … VERY poor connection even tried two different sync modules and three different Wi-Fi connections, couldn’t view live feed or even take a picture 🤣😂 a useless gadget! The ringtone was ok though when I pressed it myself to see if I was at home 🤣🤣🤣

Local storage, ability for third party streaming, integration to the existing hardwired doorbell and no forced phoning home or forced account creation. That's what I want and look for.

@@Every1ShouldSparkle not yet, but I lean towards Reolink products. They can be integrated into local storage units and there seems to be a vast community around these, so many people who can help if need be. And you are not forced to use their cloud of you don't want to.

Blink picture quality is terrible. The newer ring doorbells and Nest doorbells are much better. you need to do more comparisons.

The sync module allows for local recording storage. I don't know if you need it for your phone I bought the module with the doorbells at the time of purchase. My batteries last a year or more with 24/7 monitoring and yes the wire is only to activate existing doorbell module in your home. It does not power the doorbell.
We have run ours through our cell phones for the last 2 years with minimal issues.

I have fitted 2 of these for customers recently. You cannot get a compatible chime. Completely useless doorbell for people who don't want alexa devices spying on them in their own homes. A doorbell that doesnt work as a doorbell, stupid!!!!

Just do ring. It’s basic and actually has good quality even at night. Eufy a bit pricy but if you have the money, that’s also a good pick.
These cameras are pointless with batteries they don’t last any longer than 3weeks at push and they never catch the footage you want or need , if you want a decent camera that records everything 24/7 a cctv system is always the better way to go

Nope. Blink is slow AF. Whoever’s at your front door will be gone before the app even notify you OR it will notify you on time but won’t even load the video. It is a budget friendly version of Ring and that’s a fact
