Empty Crown

Just seen the end of The Crown. Drama of the Highest order. Television at its best. Is it for or against the existence of the Monarchy? Difficult to say it is in favour. Enough for those who cherish its existence.
Whilst I am left with the Dickensian character of Harry, something ‘Don’t know ye! Don’t know ye!’ Deeply vindictive, who will always be an angry child. I recall some wonderful episodes including that London smog, the photographer for Margaret, the abdicated Edward who advised Hitler to bomb London some more, the Harold Wilson friendship and the plan for overthrowing the elected government. So much to re-visit when the final box-set appears.
But the Monarchy is so clearly preposterous. It embeds hierarchy based on name and fortune. The tone is all Wrong. You may wish to be associated with Monarchy and will therefore say words in favour. Sycophantic promotion does nothing for true democratic management.
