28 characters lived in the prison, only 10 got out. That’s insane, The Governor arc is more then likely my favorite
The governor changed Rick forever, destroyed his home, killed half of his group, and practically strengthened him to face any threat on the road.
@@ellcaf He was the bad guy catalyst for Rick, almost every major group has that bad guy who changed everyone into toughening up.

Damn. This kind of vid takes me back in 2010-2016 when I was obsessed with TWD and there was an amazing youtuber (forgot his name) whose channel was entirely centered on commenting each comic issues as they came out. Good times.

The whole series was S tier lol. I binged read the entire series in like a month. Had to literally force myself to stop reading some nights cuz it was sooo good and the cliffhangers just make you want to immediately read the next issue to see what happened lol.

I was in middle school when twd hit the fan, so I never really understood the complaints until quarantine. Read the books and re watched and by God, everyone was right.
For me personally 22 is much higher. Seeing this new world be reintroduced to us and catching up with our characters is so interesting. The worldbuliding is great. I like the introduction of new characters like magna and her group and dante. Not revealing everything thats happened over the like 3 years at once builds on curiosity. I like Seeing where our characters are. I love following Carls story the most probably. I love the creative systems the characters have in place to deal with issues and their commradary thoughout it all. Seeing everything theyve built is dope.The tension building with the whisperers is done great and presents itslef as genuinely intresring and mysterious new threat. I especially love Jesus vs the whisperers. Its spooky. I love how everything feels fresh. This issue is basically a new beginning which is the main thing i love. The old era of twd ended and now something new excited was coming along. It didnt just feel like a continuation but of something new and unique.Another big factor is that everyone is now united 4 communites officially stand as one. All of our favorite characters allied. We got to be thrown back into this world with all of our characters in ways weve never seen before with more elements being added to advance the story even more.
I experienced the walking dead through the compendiums and my ranking would be: 4: Volume 2 (Issues 49-96) Broadly speaking this volume was downtime, winding down from the prison attack and gearing up for the saviors war. It's got good Character moments but besides Alexandria and No Way Out there's nothing that major that happens. 3: Volume 4 (Issues 145-193) This was everything from the Whisperers post Spike Deaths to the conclusion. I stopped caring about the Whisperer stuff after Alpha bites it, I wasn't super invested in the Commonwealth arc, but the conclusion was strong and there were many shocking deaths that kept me wanting to read more. 2: Volume 3 (97-144) For the Savior stuff alone, beginning with the shocking deaths of Glenn and Abraham, this Volume deserves Runner up. Savior stuff was much more interesting and fast paced than in the TV Show. The set up to the Whisperer War was good too loved the Spike Deaths and Alpha is a worthy villian. 1: Volume 1 (Issues 1-48) I mean, duh. Kirkman did an amazing job setting up the series and introducing the world of the walking dead from Rick waking up to the prison. Than the Governor comes in. Still the best villian the series has had and the Woodbury arc concluding with the Prison Attack is peak Walking Dead in both the comics and the show. Nothing after could top it.
I'm gonna eventually read the comics and come back to this!

I made it my mission after watching the second season with my dad to found them in stores like a game. I have only not found volume 28. I love this comic series and read it all the time.

Yeah, the show really didn't handle the OG group too well. At least the comics had a few more of them last longer throughout.
@@thezoinksguy some they did some they didn't. I think they just made a lot of changes and wanted to mix it up from the comics, killing characters sooner or later or having ones that died really early on live or new characters that weren't even in the comics

When I was getting into the comics, the store owner told me to start with the latest volume and go back. I just so happened to start with volume 17. Back in 2013 that was the latest volume.
I'm really wierd, when I first read through the comics, as someone who knew so much about what was gonna happen, how long it was gonna be and binge read the series the commonwealth arc was for a while my favourite arc of the comics and I still love it though my current favourite part of the comics is the entire negan arc
I'm a fan of the final volumes only because of the way we get a proper ending to all the legacy characters save for "Negan" which was a little upsetting but seeing he is still alive in that time and has a grave for "Lucille" is enough plus i doubt "Negan" would want you seeing him as an old softy, it also serves to prop Carl up as this larger than life "Hero of the trials" just like his dad. But everyone has their own tastes, I'm just so upset how they botched the show, had it been with another network like HBO i feel they could have adapted Kirkman's work far better. I understand the show is a standalone from the comics using the comics as reference but it kind of fell short because of it not to mention writer/producer/actor issues and quarrels. Could've gone down with one of the greats, but hey at least the comics will go down that way. Really good tier list @Koroto TV

I still hate it how TV show didn't do any justice to the comic's Prison arc. There were multiple attacks which amounted to nothing.

@@KorotoTV I think it would be a weird choice but I wouldn't ve totally against it. Season 11 has been fairly lacklustre when it comes to major character deaths. Aldin's death was pretty disappointing

Originally there were rumors/spoilers that both Rosita and Coco (her baby) would get Lori and Judith's death from the comic. Obviously, that didn't turn out to be entirely correct though.

Volume 1 was kinda boring to me and I can't feel anything besides the show did it so much justice. It's one of the few times I feel like the show blew the comics out of the water. But it's not like there are no redeeming qualities, the writing is witty and creative, the characters are all pretty interesting, and unlike the show, every character that is important gets a lot of time to show us their personality. Carl killing shane was a carefully made scene that would progress Carl's character. It would groom him for the horrible setting. The 2 issues where they go to the neighborhood and they find out it's filled with zombies is where the pacing falls flat. It's the only reason I think the show did it better.

Fear the Hunters is definitely A tier, but in comparison to the show it's hard. Because the resolution at Terminus is dope but it's a dumb plot device at the end of S4 to get everybody together again.
But Fear the hunters is fucking sick. It feels like sheer horror in a horror series. It's a simple stand alone story and it starts with us being scared of them and then flipping it around to us being scared of our main characters.
the show has so many moments where you have to suspend that disbelief wayy more than the comic, like you said them all meeting at terminus and another i can think of is morgan finding that map abe left behind, but honestly i think if you just go with it it makes for a better and more gripping story, s4b where they're all travelling separately is some of the best of the show imo and them meeting at the farm was perhaps more realistic but more boring

I think for both show and comic post prison to no way out is the best run of the entire story
For the show I would agree, but for what I feel works for the story and themes as well as for my own personal taste I disagree for the comic

Andrew Lincoln wanted to leave the show so I can't be mad at the show for him not being in it, and I think they did a really great job of keeping the show interesting without him and utilising a lot of the rest of the characters a lot better. No one can replace him but I didn't struggle to watch the show without him because it was still better than season 7 and 8. Obviously it wouldve been better if he was still in it, but season 9 is still one of my favourite seasons, but if it weren't for Rick's final episodes it probably wouldn't be
