Think about it. Let’s say Queen makes some open mention or has a flashback that reveals this. It doesn’t push the plot forward or create intrigue. Frankly doesn’t give a shit about his parents since they abandoned him, and he doesn’t even hold a grudge.And Queen doesn’t care about the child he left on the scrap island. It’s just pointless but fun trivia for the fans to gnaw on. And it works.

I love that Season 2 was got less gory and "more censored" than 1, I don't care what people say, if you like gore, you are absolutely sick. But people like to give themselves a pass for liking evil things. Graphical violence is a tool to tell a story, sometimes you need to see a bit of it to really get you in the emotions the story needs, like Usopp in Water Seven, we needed to see him broken and bloody for those scenes to really hit, but the way it was done in season 1 of HotD, it was gore for the gore, the shock factor, it was distasteful. Look at the way Nolan and Reeves show violence in their Batman films, that's the smart, tasteful way to do it.

as far as I remember, from a tweet of Artur iirc, Vivre Card are written/compiled by some 3rd party - Oda has editorial supervision, though. "But why" is my reaction as well .... stuff like this, especially revealed outside of the story, or even a potential side-story similar to episode of Ace, is equally boring and confusing to me.

Queen and Franky dont know their real names (Scien and Cutty Flam). They also didnt really have any conversation so this is possible. The timeline makes sense. It doenst really matter if he is his biological dad because he already has dad named Tom. But for me this still makes lots of sense. Both characters are making weapons and stuff. Both like to dance their weird poses.

My guess was that Oda originally planned something for Franky at Wano, but he scratched that idea because it got too long. So he just added this information in a vivre card.

From my perspective oda just want to connect Franky with Vegapunk a little more deeply . Queen and Judge used to work under VP then turned their back on VP and went on two different evil roads. Franky and Sanji as their sons now helping VP get out of world goverment's control make this part of story more dramatic. However after all I think it's just a easter egg thing that wont affect the character and story much, otherwise a confirm gives to those made a guess about this relationship years before (I have seen people made this guess in 2020).

George was hella mad lol. And I am all here for it. I have not read the book, but the writing for season 2 was extremely weak and honestly there were some baffling decisions even all the way back in season 1 with the multiple time skips and stuff, which are now rearing their ugly head. Butterfly effect is the perfect way to describe it. Instead of focusing on the story as a whole and what will happen in 2-3 seasons, it feels like HotD is extremely short sighted and only focused on the here and now.

Something that the blog post and video don’t mention is that Maelor’s removal sucks even more cause it takes away Daeron’s hardest line and some of his motivation and character development.

I don't blame Franky for not recognizing his deadbeat father, especially when he considers Tom as dad. There was alot more evidence in their behaviors if you go back and see what everyone has digged up that parallels between the 2. Also you missed out on them confirming the Raid on Onigashima was March 16th

To be frank constructing a relation between 2 characters who didn't interact at all basically after the fact makes it sound like Oda would just be trying to shoehorn the feeling of "such a small world" into the story. Just tell us Kokoro's child is Sasaki because that makes more sense at this point.

GRRM must take the blame for the destruction of his universe as he signed away his control over to arrogant, talentless, writers and showrunners who either hated his universe, were not familiar with his universe, or hated its characters. To me, and I don't know if this is accurate, it seems GRRM got a great big check from HBO and then washed his hands of any responsibility for HotD after that. We all know that the first 4 seasons of GoT were some of the best moments of television ever. That is not surprising as GRRM was very much involved in the series and even wrote for the show. When he discharged his responsibility to mediocre show runners and writers who hate his characters or thought they could write the story better, it was only a matter of time before his legacy would be destroyed. I don't hold out hope for future shows in this universe.
