Great review... I took out my Glideride shoes for the first 10 mile run today. The shoe is amazing. Extremely comfortable and I felt so fresh in the legs!
I was sold until you said 11.5 weight. It’s kinda seems look likes fuel-cell from new balance as well as the next percent has a similar shapes and the peg turbo. But with some many other options at a lighter weight. Huge improvement from ASICS at least they are trying now. The gel nimbus has been the same for 20 years
Good to know. I think it’s important to mention that you’re weighing your shoe size. This way watchers don’t get confused with demo weights that are highlighted with other shoes on websites, catalogs, etc.
ASICS Cumulus 7 one of my favorite shoe when I took up running and loved it then. It was simple, plush and didn’t weigh a ton then every iteration got heavier with unnecessary overlays and mid soles were hard. I dropped ASICS years ago. Seems like it’s a desperate attempt to play catch up with the MetaRide and Glide Ride. They’re not going to gain many fans with 11oz shoes for $150-$250.
Thank you. Nice one. I think the model that is really going to make maximum impact for ASICS is going to be the EVORIDE. Glideride is £145 in UK......EVORIDE will be £110 !! look foward to your review of that one...EVORIDE.
What do you think of these as marathon shoes for someone who plans to finish at 4 hours 30 or so and weights around 175 pounds? If not these, what shoes would you recommend for that?
I am new to running or at least taking it more seriously. I've looked at a lot of shoes tried on a fair amount,Wondering about a recommendation if you have the time. I am intrigued by the stated running efficiency on this shoe and that little bit of help in the stride.. My issues: I'm a heavy runner 190+lbs, standard/medium arch. Midfoot strike. Very subtle overpronation on the right. Not noticeable in some shoes. Oh and I am super slow! Nike Infinity react seemed to cause calf tightness(hard to push off). Vomero 14 wasn't as soft as I was told it would be, felt shin pain i don't think i like the Zoom bag. NB beacon v2. The best so far but not quite as flexible in that mid foot break. It's almost right but not quite. Adidas Solarboost I like for running in grass and on turf.
MCM we hand a lot of the trail shoes off to our reviewer in Colorado. There are trails here, but I am training for Wineglass Marathon, so I stay off the trails while training. I am a chronic ankle twister. Check the site for trail shoe write ups.
Somewhere in between I would say. My best half marathon practice run was 7:19 pace. Just shooting for an 8-8:30 pace for marathon, so nothing too quick needed.
Hi Thomas, I love watching your insightful reviews! Would you recommend Asics Glideride over Nike Vomero 13 for stability and cush. I also suffer from shin splints at times and was considering the Asics Metaride but its too $$$ and I am not sure if it will serve the purpose. Pl guide.
The Vomero 14 or Glideride would work. There are exercises you can do to help with shin splints. Search youtube for that and you should be able to get past them.
filoIII true about the facts you just said.. Asics Nimbus 17 was their actua last 'premium high end breaker' shoe.. since then it's just horrible... Have finally switched over from Asics.. Pretty happy with my Nike Zoom fly FKs
filoIII cause they seem to be the best shoes Nike has made (except of the vaporflys of course).. fit my foot really well, have a nice soft heel and heck springy forefoot...
Interesting to hear your thoughts on this shoe vs the Nike Vomero 14 as they both have the review of distance and cushioning with weight in their DNA. Thanks
Promising improvements by the sounds of it, then you mentioned the weight 🤦♂️ good old ASICS
I’m definitely going to buy it. Thank you for the review.
great review, I am looking forward to trying them out soon!

i need to go a half size up in this ?
@L&Z Records - yes. I have been using glideride for 2.5 years now. Have retired two. Have two active at the moment. Any questions?
Nice looking shoe- especially in black. Nice to see Asics getting a bit of their mojo back, finally!
In my opinion it looks like Nike and Hoka had a very far baby and came out with this. Looks very promising though!

Asiscs is expensive so is Nike and Hoka , the New balance fuel cell is bang for the buck and good technology
Shoe of the year for me. Amazing shoe!!!
That weight though....good golly.
On a side note, the audio is much better and cool hats :)
Atalk isn’t the weight about the same as the Ultraboost?
dru812002 those are pretty heavy
The weight is 9.9 oz on the men’s demo sz 9. That’s Important to mention
Jake Heyerly mine are size 10.5

nice review.
how this shoes compare to Bondi / Clifton and Zoomfly?
Is there a certain way you’re supposed to tie these shoes? I just had tarsal tunnel release surgery and my doctor recommended this shoe.

Thanks Terry!
Is that gel window just at the outside for decoration?
What about the toe box and the width?
Usually I go half size bigger with Asics because of the toe box
TAMER I’d say standard ASICS toe box.
I like the looks of the Pure X...was it any gud?

Are you asking if these shoes would work or for general options?
@@Believeintherun these shoes i had my eye on but anything as I'm just trying to figure it out.
They could be good for a larger runner. Lots of cush and the toe roll off could assist in efficiency
@@Believeintherun thank you!
Intentionally commented 2nd for that room for improvement... just like Asics shoes. They always seem to leave a lot of room for improvement.
I bought this. It is very good.
Finding them abit softer than what I’m used to
I'm just waiting for Jamison Michael's review
New segment -The Drop- The Weight 😅
Well stated :D
How do these hold up in the rain?
Is the sole flexible? Or hard to bend like the Carbon X?
will you guys ever review trail shoes or are there no trails in baltimore?
MCM we hand a lot of the trail shoes off to our reviewer in Colorado. There are trails here, but I am training for Wineglass Marathon, so I stay off the trails while training. I am a chronic ankle twister. Check the site for trail shoe write ups.
I think I might pick these up!
Grant Filbeck they look awesome don’t they! ASICS is looking better and better, coming back to the top !
I can warranty that Asics shoes it's the best in the world
Would you recommend Rincon's or glideride for a first Marathon??
That’s a loaded question. A lot of factors go into that decision. Is comfort or speed more important would be the first question.
Somewhere in between I would say. My best half marathon practice run was 7:19 pace. Just shooting for an 8-8:30 pace for marathon, so nothing too quick needed.
Comfort, I’d go with Glideride, lighter faster feel Rincon.
is the platform narrow like the metaride or is it closer to a conventional shoe from asics like the nimbus?
Similar fit to the Metaride
How does it compare to Asics Kayano and Kinsei. What's different to the established Asics series?
Jacob Riis much more cushioned and the pivot point rocker sole.
Also to add the Kayano is a stability shoe where the GlideRide is being advertised as a neutral shoe from what I am seeing.
What is the purpose of the metaride now?
🤷🏻♂️
@@Believeintherun What's the purpose of the Nimbus now, seeing how they jacked it up for the last decade?
What would you recommend? Pegasus 36, NB fuel cell or this? I owned a pegasus 35 as per your previous review.
Emmanuel Cueto totally different category shoes. If you want max cushion then Glideride, peg is a solid daily trainer, Rebel is more built for speed

Can they take the beat of terrain abuse?
Nimbus killer?
filoIII pretty much!
Nimbus has sucked for the past 5 yrs. I won't touch their junk again. MAYBE this shoe when the price lowers.
filoIII true about the facts you just said.. Asics Nimbus 17 was their actua
last 'premium high end breaker' shoe.. since then it's just horrible... Have finally switched over from Asics.. Pretty happy with my Nike Zoom fly FKs
Why the FKs?
filoIII cause they seem to be the best shoes Nike has made (except of the vaporflys of course).. fit my foot really well, have a nice soft heel and heck springy forefoot...
And I just bought DynaFlyte 4 :D
Also DynaFlyte doesn't have gel
@ggguuueeerrraaa dynaflyte is much lighter shoe then for example Nimbus but less stability for the arch tbh
Nice red is my color. 👌
11.3 🤷♂️
Got a protect the breast from cancer👍
Interesting to hear your thoughts on this shoe vs the Nike Vomero 14 as they both have the review of distance and cushioning with weight in their DNA. Thanks
Michael Bartlett I actually brought them up as a comparison in the written review. The rocker in the Glideride gives these a few more points.
Believe in the Run ‘Awesome thanks for the feedback, appreciate your channel 👍🏽👣👣👣
@@Believeintherun which has better cushioning
I was gonna buy them but then I saw the weight. Seriously, flyte foam is too heavy. Make something lighter Asics
That loud scratch sound is really terrible.
how this compares to zoom fly flyknit or zoom fly 3?
Both are cushioned high stack trainers, the Zoom Fly is lighter.
Thank u
@@Believeintherun sorry another question, is the cushioned, in your opinion, better or worse than zoom fly?
Love
