I liked Phyllis Diller when I was a child, she was on TV alot during the late 1960s, and early 1970s. I remember this game, I was 13 during 1974. I mainly watched it during summers because I was in school when it was on.
My late mother loved "Tattletales". It was her guilty pleasure. One reason the original "Tattletales " was a big hit was the show's timeslot: Weekdays at 4 P.M. (3 in the Central and Mountain time zones). Not only did high school students get to watch it after school, but it was broadcast immediately after "Match Game", which by 1974 had become the most popular program on daytime television.
Ward was not Fang. Phyllis Diller wrote about that fact in her autobiography. She did say that her first husband Sherwood thought that he was Fang but she said that Fang was made up...

Hi I enjoy tattle tails fun game show to watch i can relate to Phyllis Diller about whether or not to be painted with the one question that was asked well true story for me as well i went to go get an MRI done the girl asked me if i had any breast implants i told her once i take my bra off you will have your answer she smile laugh in a fun way well i had 2 kids and my breast got more bigger then my stomach but it didn't help my breast out any but i am grateful cause could be worse so i am blessed and thankful either way so it brought back a memory for me and made me laugh thanks Phyllis Diller for the laugh your beautiful🤗🙃😇

Actually, Fang was a fictitious character according to Phyllis Diller's autobiography. Her in-laws did sue her because they claimed that she used them in her act. Years after the fact, Phyllis found out that her first husband did have a checking account under the name Fang Diller.
Was...I'm sure he's long retired or gone, but he was a screen writer ,etc. And I agree after watching her on tattle tales I like her more ,than I did on match game.
Patti seemed to have two schticks, happy Patti and depressed Patti. Happy Patti seemed to appear on TT and depressed Patti seemed to be on Match Game. Unsurprisingly, happy Patti was much more interesting and fun.
It always cracks me up about the show that they make it sound like it's so much money but when you count everybody in the section it turns out to be about a hundred people so they usually get anywhere between maybe 5 and $15 each which is hilarious!
Nobody makes it sound like "so much money." You can see how big the audience is, and Bert repeatedly says that the money is divided amongst them. They printed checks as they filed out of the studio. And none of them had to answer questions, jump through hoops, guess prices, or spin wheels to win anything.
Aria G. Well in those days if a couple in the winning section could take their 30 bucks and have a nice meal on the way home....compliments of the show.
In those days 10 bucks was a lot of money. MacDonald's used to have an ad campaign of feed a family of four for under $5. As a kid growing up in the early 70's, I dealt in nickles and dimes, a quarter was a rare windfall. A bag of chips was 5/10 cents, a can of pop was 10./15 cents etc.
Bert Convy was so cool &funny. He was perfect for this job. So sad he died young. Patty's husband Donald seems very difficult &a bit of a wet blanket lol
@@alfonsogreen2722 Bert reminds me so much of my Dad back in the 1970's and early 80's. It was a terrible loss especially for game show fans. He was a great host

She exercised good judgment with her cosmetic surgeries and apparently who she chose to do them. I can't think of too many who had better more natural looking surgical outcomes than her.

Phyllis Diller was a funny, funny, woman❤️ "Stretch marks that glow in the dark"😅
Patty’s husband was actually a pretty famous TV writer in his time. He was very active behind-the-scenes in a lot of games shows.

Fascinating to google & see which marriages lasted.
Loved Gene Barry's "Name of the Game" series.
Great show.
Wow Phyllis Diller with out her way hair
Phyllis's husband looks like Rip Taylor. Read into that what you will.
Isn't his name Fang?
Interestingly enough, Rip Taylor would be Phyllis' partner on Tattletales on one week during the 80s revival.

I like this way of scoring, evens it out more & more people can get more money.
I know this game show, was on CBS.
That must the famous Fang that Phyllis Diller used to make jokes about
No - Fang was her first husband, Sherwood Anderson Diller.
Actually, Fang was a fictitious character according to Phyllis Diller's autobiography. Her in-laws did sue her because they claimed that she used them in her act. Years after the fact, Phyllis found out that her first husband did have a checking account under the name Fang Diller.
I'm usually not a fan of Patty D. but she was amusing here, and her husband too, whoever he is.
Phyllis and Warde - love them both forever.

Yes!!! I was trying to make a logical guess about how many people were in each section; I guessed that it was like 16.39$
Phyllis and Warde divorced a year later in 1975

There were 120 people in each section dollar went a lot further back in the day
I know that Donald passed away in June 2018. Did he ever make another TV appearance outside of Match Game or Tattletales? Especially past 1974?
He was a writer so he worked behind the scenes. I remember hearing he was a writer on the Dinah Shore show.
