Gotta say I just watched Back to the Beach today for the first time. I wasn't expecting much and it was awesome!! What a blast of fun of a movie. Great cameos from Pee Wee Herman, The Beavers, The Skipper and Gilligan, Fishbone etc.... what a great way to end the Avalon and Annette films. One of these days I gotta check all of them out. But as a 80s kid this movie was good with a great soundtrack
This perfect pop song makes you want to sit through the credits. Also, I was a grown-ass man when Back to the Beach came out, and I loved every minute of it. Still do.

I always get that bittersweet feeling when the song comes on at the end of the movie. Like the movie is over but the song is so good, and then watch the movie all over again. RIP Zed
Totally feel/felt the same way! The reprise of Grease at then end of that classic movie gives a very similar feeling, and "Into The Groove" at the end of Desperately Seeking Susan, as well (probably because it's the only time Susan and Roberta actually meet and are now friends w/ a happy ending for both girls...and it was a brand new Madonna Classic that quickly went to #1 in 1985). Maybe its placement in the soundtrack was done intentionally to inject a bittersweet feeling, making you want to relive it (the film) again. This song screams a major aspect of what The Summer is to many of us. How was this song not a single/video release in 1987?! I wish I had seen the film in the movies. It must have been a fun romp.

What a great song! I've been looking for this forever. This is the song that turned me on to the wonderful Marti Jones. Strong melody, good songwriting structure with outstanding bridge. Great arrangement. And sly, sneaky-clever lyrics sung by a sly and masterful (if little known) singer. This is so hard to find----You deserve to win the 5 Million dollar lottery for posting this! You are a saint, a scholar, and a blessing to the human race!

You need to take a trip to the Malibu Pier and look around. You can go everywhere this movie was shot.
I’m 41 now and this brings back such good childhood memories. I miss the good times and good music like this.
