I never grew up listening to nor paying any attention to country music but sometimes it’s all about timing. I found country when the time was right for me. I’m 51 now and got into country in 1993 when I was 21. I was driving a company truck (in Anchorage, Alaska) and didn't bother changing the radio station from whoever drove it last. I was just in the frame of mind to get lost in a song and the right one came on (All These Years by Sawyer Brown) and it stayed in my ears, my mind, and in my heart for days afterward until I had to buy the CD. That’s how it started for me. I love how country songs paint vivid pictures and that each one is its own story. Country tells it like it is and if there’s any emotion that you’re dealing with, this genre will bottle those feelings up and make music that will hopefully help you. Sure, I still listen to many genres but songs like this became my go-to music long ago and never waned.
Growing up in Toledo by Detroit I believe I have all music in my blood but country was something I got into moving to Florida. I like the old stuff but I never thought I would be living it. My wife of 42 years decided to cheat and when I called her out she made another decision and that was to just walk away without looking back. Broke my heart and crushed it when I heard his voice from long distance. All I can say if it happened to me it could happen to anyone. I trusted her. I let her go wherever with whoever whenever she wanted our whole relationship.
God, 90s country was so raw and honest that it hurts. I guess that's the point but man, they really nailed it back then. This song is so relatable and so hauntingly beautiful. It wouldn't have been the same without Sawyer's voice on it though. Still listening to this in 2024 and hopefully will still be listening in 2044. Good music like this never gets old. "All these years, what have I done? I made your supper and your daughter and your son" Good stuff
I’m listing to it right now!!! Never was a big fan of country as a young man, but I lost my father and he loved country, so since his passing I listen to it all the time “ the older country from the 90s that I heard in the car as a child” as just a way of being close to him!!! I miss him so much!!!
I grew up listening to country. Sawyer was always one of my favorites. Their songs always hit me, especially after my parents divorced when I was 10. Crazy to think that a 10 year old would cry listening to music. That shouldn’t be a kids reality. Now, at 41 years old, I saw them in concert and ‘The Walk’ just tore me open. Haven’t heard it for years. Still at this age, my parents’ divorce the subsequent split lives we’ve had because of it has taken half the time I would’ve spent with my dad. Who’s a great man. Anyway, Sawyer Brown blew the two headlining bands out of the water, and they basically opened for Parmalee and Walker Hayes. The wife and I left after 3 WH songs. That ain’t country 😂 I would’ve paid the same to see Sawyer by themselves.
Songs like this echo the words of Harlan Howard, that country music is three chords and the truth. Noting the honesty and feeling of the genre. Mark Miller’s voice is strong and emotional in this one.
I grew up with country music all my life I'll be 40 this year ... I make sure my young boys love the 90s country music. Us Texan love this kind of music ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Some of the best lyrics of any country song I've ever heard. Beautiful melody, beautiful orchestration, and beautifully sung as well.

Trese..took some time to find this..married 20 years, always faithful, left with my son and daughter. This song sums up the futility of holding on.
I'll be here in 2025 too
Why do you people leave this comment on every single music video on UA-cam? Are you that desperate for, “Likes” and attention?

Saw Sawyer Brown on Wednesday Aberdeen South Dakota
This and “Treat Her Right” are the only music videos of Sawyer Brown’s that feature Mark by himself and not all six members of the group
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Third after the walk & some girls do
Did Mark sing anything that isn’t better than 90% of what was on the radio at the time?
Wow
