It has been yet another week of staggering scenes around SpaceX’s Starship development sites. We’ve had fire with a new twist! SpaceX's FINAL Starship Static Fire! But why? Yes, Suborbital Pad B is no more! There have been so many vehicles rolling and views to show, it was hard to even know where to start. Mixed with the continual action and setbacks to dive into outside Starbase. We had Starliner attempting to fly, SpaceX's Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Suit, Starlink - Group 6-57, Group 6-56 & Group 8-2, HyImpulse, and Chang’e 6 Update! What a week!

Cool ! Love it !
So with the SR75 rocket using paraffin as fuel, I guess that brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "let's light this candle".
...and there you go stealing everybody's thunder lol
I wonder if it's Scented? 😂
I have missed one moment... Is it solid or liquid propellant rocket? 😅
Just don't burn it at both ends.
My guess for the “mystery” ship #26 is that it’s the orbiting fuel depot. Being permanently in orbit means it would need thrusters but neither a heat shield nor atmospheric control surfaces.
Totally agree
It would need to come back to reload. Only Lunar landers need no shield or atmosphere thrusters.
@@blackterminalThey would refuel the depot using other starships, so it wouldn’t need to reenter
@@blackterminal No. It will be refilled in orbit. At least ten flights with starship tankers will be needed to refill one orbital starship fuel depot.
Ideal would initially be ship to ship refilling using a ship as temporary orbital storage then later make a more permanent orbital depot that never returns. so makes it harder to tell regarding if one would want recovery hardware for the test articles or not. very hard to not constantly second guess ourselves on this one.
I have always loved the Star Hopper. Glad it's staying. It's the icon of Starbase.
Me too and it looks like Elon has affection for the little guy as well!
This always makes Saturday morning very cool...
You mean 11pm Saturday night. 😅
days off in the wk?@@craigmackay4909

@@craigmackay4909g'day here at 11am Saturday in Florida. 🤠
I do like this weekly format rather than an almost daily upload of almost no new info.
I don't see missing tiles after that static fire! Progress!
The were tiles shaken off, watch the NSF footage.
@@mirador698 I hope the new test stand at Massey's is gentler on the ships.
@@riparianlife97701 It should be. We may even see full-duration static fires (depending on the water usage of the deluge system)
Good to see Ship30 didn't lose tiles in the static fire test.
I'm headed to South Texas next week. I hope that there is a Starship launch during the week that I will be there.

Marcus, I look forward to EVERY update. Your precis of the current space sciences is exemplary. It concisely brings together all relevant players, and your zeal for the subject is obvious.
Thank you very much for the work you (et al) do.

Thanks Marcus and Team...! Testing of Rapid , full reusability of Space Launch vehicles is happening NOW ...! Go SpaceX...! Cheers...!
Good fiery and Aurora morning, Marcus!
Trying to find it myself here in Tasmania. I've got a bit too much light pollution. I might be best to try and head way out into the darkness tomorrow night when I don't have a fresh video that has just gone live distracting me.
cant see anything in

Another excellent video. My goto for SpaceX, anything Space related, and early warning of possible launch dates. Thanks Marcus

Always a good way to start the Saturday. The vid comes in the night before but shows up first on my youtube wall in the morning. Thank you Marcus House.
What an incredible video as always. Meant to pause and grab my coffee, but I got sucked in... now it's coffee time! Thanks again!
Just in time like always!!
We try to have it go live pretty much right on the dot. Takes a view mins to find its way into everyones feeds, but we are usually right on the regular publish time.
@@MarcusHouseSo we'll done!
Thanks, Marcus! I always enjoy seeing the new developments each week. We appreciate all the work you, your team, and the others that help provide all these views and information.,
It's great to be able to screensave some of the launches I missed this week, all thanks to Marcus House and Team Marcus. Thank you so much for all your information. I watched the Tim Dodd interview with the Polaris Dawn crew and it was fantastic. A lot of insight about the incredible EVA that is in no way similar to the Dragon EVA suits to the ISS. They have been heavily modified.
So my brains overloaded with new data, time for bed at 12:20am in NZ. It's now the 12th of May. What a funny old world 🌏
your channel has for long just became part of my life.
Thx for keeping posting.
Wush u greater and greater success.

You are very welcome! Thanks for being here.
The current era is not coming to an end; rather, it marks the dawn of a new era! SpaceX is unwavering in its commitment to progress and innovation.
Thank you and the team! Always outstanding. I always start my Saturday with you and love the high quantity and quality of information.
Thank you for another great video!
"Because it's always exciting watching Lunar lander missions playing out." It is indeed. And it's mind boggling to think that we now live in an era where they come one after another. I think there's been five or six in the last year!
Awesome...getting emotional about the possibilities in our lifetime

Marcus, your information is incredibly thorough and awesome. Thank you.
The new space suit doesn't need to withstand the "harsh pressures" of space, the most it will need to stand is 1 atmosphere (about 14.8 psi) but probably much less as it will probably use around 4 or 5 psi with a higher oxygen concentration
New suit will operate at 100% oxygen so around 5 psi. it is the old behaviour designed to make it easier to manage the constant leaking of the suit. Yes, these suits leak continuously.
@@KnugLidi also the lower pressure will make it easier to move
5.1psi but also additional protections in space while still having decent maneuverability. It does require an umbilical to the ship. Not an issue though.
@@anthonypelchatNice to be tethered!
@@anthonypelchatNot an issue but NOT comparable to a free floating EVA or lunar surface suit. Not even close.
A lot of folks seem to not see the difference.
Great work developing the narrative -- a very exciting 6 minutes to start the video!

Great segment! ❤
As a child of the 'sixties, I remember plenty of Cold War spy stories that concerned stolen formulas for one type of top secret rocket fuel or another. So what did the high-tech rocket fuels of the future turn out to be? Kerosene, methane, paraffin... 🤣

the more spacex make the cheaper it is getting as well as safer and routine. Always loved space and the unknown
Comprehensive as always. Well done Marcus and team.
Thank you
It's not easy to have a permanent satellite orbiting the moon, due to its irregular gravity. It's fiddly (=expensive) to maintain the orbit, so not worth doing until there is some sort of permanent base up there. That's why they tend to put up temporary satellites, as required.
Interesting, I never thought about that as much of an issue. Do you know how fast lunar orbits decay? Do they actually decay or are they "just" changed until not useful anymore?
Frozen orbits exist, LRO has been orbiting the moon since 2009 and has used little fuel.
I can’t believe we don’t have a space station orbiting the moon by now conducting research experiments in advance of lunar habitation.
all in good time :)
Tassie boy represents! 🖐️High Five!
Great coverage
If anything I would think that ship 26 could be the "orbital Tanker" prototype
A prototype seems right. A step toward a real article. I would expect a tanker to be insulated all over, but who knows.
@MarcusHouse, mess up the aerodynamic? Insulation needs to be inside the ship, just around the tanks.
@@MichaelWinter-ss6lx Insulation needs to be inside the ship, just around the tanks.
The main tanks are in fact the rocket shell. The tank is not "inside" it IS the rocket. So insulation inside would be inside the tank itself.
@@Scanner9631 I always thought there was a separate layer of metal. That’s actually really cool!
@@Allthegoodhandlesaretakenlmao
Look at the tanks they built and are now taking apart. They are essentially Starship sections. To insulate them they built a 12 meter outer shell and put the insulation between the 9 meter tank and the outer shell.
The shuttle tank (and Artemis 1st stage is a variant) also is just the tank with an outer layer of foam insulation. They don't need tiles as they aren't supposed to survive a reentry.
Thanks

Thanks again, Marcus.
So…will Starship 4 fly before Starliner - what are the bookies offering for odds?
IMO, it's 50/50
Got to finally see a row of starlink satellites yesterday from Steiglitz in Victoria Australia at around 7pm, I was surprised by how fast they moved across the sky

Excellent stuff bro
great vid- - $6.6b amazing for Starlink revenue. However, it's profit which gives an indication of SpaceX's available funds for Starship, not revenue. Starlink's manufacture, deployment and general running costs are likely to be high

Hey hey Markus house . Ahh a wonderful Saturday morning 😊
Look up above..
Love your show and content Marcus!
I think the hot gas thrusters may be refering not to rcs thrusters, as they planed on doing, but the actual lunar lander mini thrusters at the top of the ship.
Hot gas thrusters were specifically mentioned in the context of NASA's progress update regarding in-orbit inter-ship propellant transfer demonstration. My interpretation is that either the Depot or the Tankers (or both) will have dedicated hot gas thrusters for propellant settling and possibly ullage replenishment (on Tanker), that will fire throughout the transfer process.
@@Spherical_Cow Now that you say it, hot gas thrusters are more efficient than what they use right now so it might make sense for a depot. But also if they would be needed for the landing then it makes sense to demo them during the fueling tests in parallel with them to save time.
Hey Hey, it’s time for another video
now thats a good video update well done
always interesting!
Hey Hey, Marcus Housewizzy here 🥳
Cheers Marcus 🍻
One thing I never thought I'd hear about from SpaceX is sit backs.
Marcus, thanks for including stuff from China and Germany and everything else. I am an American warrior and patriot to my heart, but we do all live on one tiny blue dot in the middle of nowhere. So it behooves us to all work together. I sincerely hope that working together comes sooner than later. We shouldn't be at each other's throats. We are all Earthicans after all.
Well worth remembering!
Chinese and Germans are “patriots” too.
Love your starship updates, I find myself living on a fixed income that makes purchasing your hover pens, and little rocket models unaffordable for me. No matter I've had a wonderful work career and my little home office in my retirement would not be a suitable place for such quality desk accessories.
Look up above
I guess SpaceX still have another big and hard challenge on starship material dan its seal to overcome the plasma heat during the entry.
Very Cool Dude !
Remember when everyone was wondering whether Starliner or Crew Dragon would have the first crewed space flight?
Starliner looks like it belongs in the 1980's, like they pulled some ancient design off the shelf.
You don't need flaps if that ship was going to be left in space. For instance, moon lander would not need flaps, so maybe it will be used for storage transfer testing.
