hi, i just want to remind you that you need to squezze the trigger in order to release steam. You should have squeezed the trigger so it would haved released steam in25 seconds. If you dont squeeze the trigger mostly youll wait a minute or so to produce steam. Thanks for the review, it was really helpful.
I just bought one, and I really like it! I clean my tub with it. One good tip... Wet the microfiber glove before you place it, therefore it will work faster. I will use it in my stove and in my floors, I am really happy with this purchase. Thank you for this. Review.
If I do not want to clean but I know that I should I watch a pertinent video and tasks seem to be so much easier! Thanks for the inspiration! Thumbs up!
I bought the Neat Receipts scanner for my husband and he absolutely LOVES it. It scans double sided pages in the blink of an eye and makes it very easy to file electronically. I would definitely recommend it!
I had one of the initial Shark Steam Cleaners, and it was amazing. I've used it to clean the break dust and other grit & grime that accumulates on the wheels of my car, and also on my Ceramic Tile bathroom floor. It was a godsend. Sad to say when we moved I left it behind, and I wish I hadn't now. I need one for a nasty Calcium Stain in my toilet! So I'm searching for another one.
Hi i am 13 and i am a clean freak! I got mine today and love it! I bought it from amazon for $80 new! It worked wonders blasting dirt out of the grout in the bathroom! Thank you!
I Agree. Music is not only loud....it's just AWFUL.....like it's stuck on repeat!! going over the same sound notes over and over. Please don't use music in explanatory videos.
This video made me excited to get a steamer & get sanitizing. I have an immuno-compromised child due to multiple organ transplants. He was born with a rare liver disease. I wish I could afford a more expensive cleaner but I think this one will do the job. When you are fighting to keep your child healthy.... Nothing can be sanitary enough!!! Thank you so much for making these videos. Many blessings to you.
great review! have had mine for several years and still loving it. doesn't necessarily make cleaning faster but you at least know its clean and you arent using any harsh chemicals. that said if you use it twice a week the cleaning will go by much faster. if you wait for it to really gunk up it can go much slower. once again, great review!
I love my Shark pocket cleaner for cleaning PATIO FURNITURE AND CUSHIONS! A game changer - it made easy work of cleaning off all the dust and dirt and leaving everything clean and beautiful.
This helped me decide that I do want one and plan to purchase. I already own a Shark steam mop and LOVE it, so I am looking forward to owning this one!
I have used both the Shark steam blaster and the Monster Euroflex Cannister Steamer and I have to say that I loved them! They are best, I find, for doing jobs where you really want a blast of steam to be used. They are excellent at cleaning stoves, bbq's, the bathroom (stronger powered so would clean the guck out of your sink and such that wasn't gotten with the one shown in your vid), floors, along trim on your walls, etc. Would recommend the one you have for stainless steel though.
I received my Shark steam cleaner a couple of days ago....I can't wait to start using it for my counter tops, stove, bath and shower area.....So excited! Love your cleaning vids btw...Very good cleaning tips!
I have one of these steam cleaners but dropped it and it no longer heats up. I really liked that I could clean all areas of my home particularly the bathroom and kitchen without the use of any chemicals.I will purchase another one but I wish I could just the steamer w/out all the attachments which I do not need. In the covid-19 pandemic this is a great tool as it will kill the virus with the steam. Water turns to steam at 212 degrees F.
yea, I steamed it on a plate then picked it up with a microfiber towel and polished it. I just bought the shark mop today it has three steam settings. Its worked great saved soooo much time. But I only used it to do the major cleaning then use my old mop to apply the wax stuff. Looks great.
I have had Shark for a while.. It's nice to use it on fresh spils, stains etc. When I was trying to clean oven glass door - it had couple of months cooking greasy stains - shark was hopeless - nothing worked - neither direct steam, nor small round attachment.. It wouldn't help to remove lime (water marks) from tiles in the shower as well. I had the same experience as you did, working around the tap.
Thanks for the quick reply to my concern. I have already replaced some flooring due to a unfortunate water leak from my refrigerator ice maker water line.
I bought the H2O X5 mop and am quite happy with it.. I think we all like the idea of steam cleaning our houses..I really enjoy your vids and reviews..and have become a bit of a cleanaholic but in a good way..
I luuuuv my Shark pocket cleaner. Especially for my kitchen, bathroom, laundry, mirrors & dining table. Antibacterial properties are a bonus. It gets a workout with my 6+ member family.
This video inspired me to use my sharp in different ways around my home. Actually it has inspired me to take it out of the closet after not really ever using it since I bought it. I didn't know what do with it. What I do us it for is to take stains out of rugs. The shark is not meant for that, but I find that it works extremely well for that.
Love your video and you as a presenter - HATE the background music while you are speaking (of any kind); it's distracting and always seems to be louder or equal to the voice volume. I could (and would) watch much longer if there was no background music. This surely isnt something unique to your videos - noise over stimulation/pollution is ever present. In fact, it seems down right odd (though sooooo refreshing) to listen to one thing at a time. Am I the only one who feels this way - maybe. Love your station, though!!!!
I Loved it. She made a comedic skit out of it. Making cleaning knowledge fun. I’m from Toronto also, so maybe we just have a dif sense of humour n higher tolerance levels.
Your video is fun to watch : ) I bought one. It's small and compact ... so one cannot expect miracles. I cleaned the grout on my ceramic floors ... and the caulking around my windows... and it did it pretty good job...and I really like it for my stove top ... thanks for the idea ! but only one other steamer worked better and it was double the price.
First time I saw any of your videos, find them helpful, informative, practical and funny..got.caught laughing out loud by myself with my laptop. ..Look forward to watching and learning some more!
I decided to order one of these after watching this video. I will let you know how it goes when it arrives in the mail and I get a chance to use it! great video!
I'd love to see that, too. We have a white Pottery Barn couch that shows anything and everything. I've been researching these things to decide whether to have it professionally cleaned, or if I can get a product that will let us do it ourselves.
I own a residential cleaning, and I using commercial vapor steamer. Of course that Steam Cleaners actually works. Using a shark steam pocket is a great tool for any family to keep clean, sanitize and deodorant house.
Is it potable or do you need to leave plugged in? Could not tell from your video. If need to leave plugged in, safe to use when water; e.g., sink? Thanks.
I love steamers. It's the faster way to sanitize your house. Instead of using antibacterial sprays because you don't have to wait for dwell time ( 5 minutes to disinfect any surface) .
Good video. Just bought a similar but more basic unit in UK. Tried it on some greasy kitchen stuff around the stove but not sure its much better than a normal chemical cleaner, still needs a lot of hard work. A bit disappointed but it was cheap and will keep trying it on other things.
I wasn't sure if I was going to get one but yeah I think after seeing that I will. Its hard to trust a infomercial ...... but an honest review helps. would love to see if it makes mirrors in the bathroom fog free
Great video as always. Actually, I've decided not to buy the Shark. It didn't clean well on the drain surround, and frankly, it has many more attachments and pieces than I want to deal with. Something simpler that cleans tough areas like the sink surround and other impossible small places like that would be better for me.
After researching affordable steam cleaners I have found the steam pocket to be high quality and reliable. Bissell has a great selection of ops and handhelds but to buy the all in 1 is expensive you could save money but that means buying 3 machines. Aside from cleaning my house I also clean my booth at work and the Bissell Select steam mop did wonders on the floor but I would also like the pocket to get everything else. (Walls, counter, signs, etc.). The long cord is my selling point due to only
I have an Oreck Steam It Mop that I have had for over a year. Yesterday it quit working. I went to the Oreck Store to see if it could be fixed but it could not. Now I need a new floor cleaner. I am considering the Hoover Floormate. What do you think of it?
Hi Melissa...i couldnt find any other way to respond to the Battery powered lawn mower and lithium powered steamer..... Ok, the lawnmover uses 2 20v lithium and has a run time of about 10 mins id venture to guess. I agree with you, It will not be done any time soon.. even if they did figure out the voltage thing theres the whole bypass thing.. I guess it'd have to be nuclear! lol I apologize for using your page for daydreaming,, lol keep up the good work :)
i bought one a few years ago and i used it once. the one thing that irritates me the most is that it worked enough to muck up the cloths enough that they stained, and i can't return it in good conscience. but i was very unhappy with it. it was a waste of time and money, and now space. if my house started as clean as yours and i needed to go thru all that trouble just to shine things up, i'm thinking a little elbow grease with hot water would be less of a hastle than constructing and deconstructing the watched pot that barely boils.
Hi Melissa, just recently (summer 2022) I found one of those in the dumpster. It’s missing a lot of parts so I don’t think it is of any use. And when I plugged it in, it sounded like a stalled car. Furthermore, it leaked out the filler hole. But on the plus side, I noticed that it does heat up as the front of it feels very warm even many minutes after I unplugged it. Now that I have watched your excellent review, I know what to expect if I find another one of those. That is, what other parts to look for. So I will scrap it for e-waste at Goodwill.
Can you do an updated video or videos with products that you have used in the past such as this to let us know if you still utilize them and if so in what new ways that you do. Thanks.
I bought a shark awhile ago and used it to tackle the bathroom... It did good cleaning in between grout lines but corners of the tub not so much. I also cleaned in the kitchen and learned that cleaning the front of a non stainless steel microwave wasn't a good idea, however the stove looked great. Which was also non stainless steel. I think I will try to clean my bike with it next the gears and chains are filthy.
My homeright cost almost the same. It holds more water. A lot more attachments including on for floors. Now since we are on the subject of steamers. Have you ever used a steam vac extractor like the ones put out by duprey. Have you ever used one and if you have used one do you know of other models that might be a little more affordable?
How often did you have to refill the steamer while cleaning ? Would you say the steam was like at a hand-burning temperature? Like if you invert the hose and the steam rises. Thanks
Thank you for preparing this video. We had the previous model, the SC 630 which unfortunately stopped working after 2,5 years. Many of the accessories are useless, like you said, it comes down to steam and a rag. The SC-650 seams to be going out, the price has now come down to 79$ at bed, bath and beyong and there are several used on amazon. We are looking for a remplacement, did you tested other model/brand?
Thinking of buying one of these but they're way more expensive in Australia (land of the uber markup). Your review helped a lot - and made me laugh myself silly! Consider me a new fan. Thank you so much!
In your opinion, which is the best steamer. I need something better than the shark as I have a rental place and have to deal with mold in the shower area of 3 bathroons as the tenants don't dry them.
@@tinasme Yes, a normal "dirty house" needs to have staged dirty areas(just the same as the infomercials that sell them!) with Sauces on counters etc! 🤣
I agree xavier. Also, I'd NEVER use my clean mop head on sauces, etc on counter tops. I'd wipe them first to get any gunk off, then sanitise and finish with the steamer to kill germs. Tomato-based stains do not come out easily when you wash the pads. Pads (even after hot wadhing) soon become so grubby looking you just don't want to use them.
Your video is polished, your acting superb, and product review honest. I purchased this product 09-12-11 for a low $68.93. I finally used my Shark for the 1st time 10-01-12 to steam my mattress. I got freaked out when I found 2 dead bugs in my mattress. But the Shark PSI and TEMP are too weak for me. So I don't recommend it. Instead, I suggest a VaporClean, Dupray, or Daimer steam cleaner. VaporClean is my 1st high-quality low-cost choice.
I absolutely LOVE my Shark Steamer. You should see the wonders it did on my old carpet. I would definitely say its more than just pretty good and i did not pay that much money for it. I paid $49 for mine with ALL those attachments. OK since its Saturday morning I'm off to steam clean my house 😆
Well you have to know what products to use with it, but I absolutely love mine! I steam my clothes right no the hanger, I've used it to clean my carpet, my shower, my windows, grease struck on my stove, it's awesome! I love mine. I mainly use vinegar and/or baking soda if I need an additional cleaning boost. I'm not a fan of using chemical products (although I wont say that I never use them because sometimes I do).
Love my steam cleaner . Shes a lot bigger than the shark but size doesn't matter with steam. Wonderful for window and door tracks. No need to get on my knees any more. Love it.
3:47 lol Hey Lorraine Saiz(from 2mo ago), I think the problem you had with this product was Operator error! No such thing as miracle cleaner, but steam cleaners do a very good job without harsh expensive chemicals!
Using the window and glass cleaning pocket, I've always wanted to buy most of the shark appliances but I don't trust buying of the TV for a great product. But they are in store in Australia now, so I will check out the prices and may even purchase one now I've seen this review. Even if just for my oven! Lol. Thank you clean my space!
Good video. Love Shark products, so know this will be good, have a bigger one for doing cement patio, but want a hand held for me to use inside. Thanks
How do you know that this item sanitizes anything? Did you do a microbe test and compare the bacteria and viruses on surfaces before and after cleaning?
The steam cleaner is great for cleaning greasy stuff like your exhaust hood or oven door. In the bathroom, my steam mop does a great job on the floors, but the pocket isn't useful for cleaning, although I guess it probably is good for disinfecting. Finally, the place where the steam pocket shines is in cleaning outdoor furniture and cushions. OMG I used it last summer and it left everything looking like new. It took off a year (and winter's) worth of dirt and dust like nothing. My next project: try the pocket out on the nasty black dust and stuff in my window tracks.
I got a shark steam cleaner, it cleans great! but still have to sweep before useing it, and the long cord gets in the way! and do not leave it on the wood floor to pick something up, just for even a sec, it left a water mark on my wood floor! and you can only use water in it, im use to that clean smell of pine sol! has anybodie put anything alse in it, and did it mess it up?
I want to buy the mop version of this because I have a seven month old baby girl who is just about to start crawling. Can you let me know if its a good buy. I don't want to waste my money.
My comment is about rust. I had clothes steamers in the past and nature wins, rusty specks come out. I would like a 30 day follow up. Great presentation. Thanks for sharing
Hey Melissa, I watched the pillow cleaning video and I was wondering if the Shark would clean them just as well as what you recommended in the pillow video? Thanks Alex
What puts me off buying one for that price is wondering how long it lasts for and if the pump/thermostat goes how easy is it to get replacement parts? I prefer the steamers that are also mops but the lightweight aspect to this one has its advantages...
I have Bruce Hardwood floors and there are spaces between the planks that get filthy! I'm looking for a good way to clean between them so I don't have to do it on my knees with a toothbrush. Any thoughts?
Dear Melissa, I have a full sized shark steam mop, and I love it, unfortunately it gets dirty easily, how do you clean your shark dusters? Any special tips or tricks to keep it sanitized and clean?
Can't really say it convinced me to buy the steamer, because I bought it on a whim (yay impulse buys!) and was actually second guessing myself before I opened and used it. Can say it made me stop second guessing. Now, to unbox and use!
hi, i just want to remind you that you need to squezze the trigger in order to release steam. You should have squeezed the trigger so it would haved released steam in25 seconds. Welcome back to the past.
Please get rid of the music or lower the volume so it is not competing with your voice. The music is very distracting.
Yep, you have a pleasant delivery but the music is about 33% too loud.
Yes! Ditch the music!
What did you say?? I couldn't hear you over the music
I Agree. Music is not only loud....it's just AWFUL.....like it's stuck on repeat!! going over the same sound notes over and over. Please don't use music in explanatory videos.
Not so much the music, but the dings are jarring.

are these any good i am looking at this one and i am looking at the bissell
I would like to know if this steam cleaner cleans curtains and lounges please. Thanks
Hey melissa do you thinkyou would ever get a chance to test out the bissell syphony steam mop / vacuum
Omg I hope so! I was going to ask for one for Christmas (lol) but I'd really like to see it in action first!
Thinking of buying one of these but they're way more expensive in Australia (land of the uber markup). Your review helped a lot - and made me laugh myself silly! Consider me a new fan. Thank you so much!
It's postage that puts the price up. But I agree things are much more expensive here.
I loved your informative video but the background music was a bit too loud which made it distracting.
In your opinion, which is the best steamer. I need something better than the shark as I have a rental place and have to deal with mold in the shower area of 3 bathroons as the tenants don't dry them.
Many years later... I would love to see a video on cleaning the toilet (gross) using the steam cleaner!!
easy when everything is clean or barely dirty, in real life it's something else.
that was a normal dirty house... but okay.
@@tinasme lol Tina you must be a total cleaning freak if this is dirty to you!!
VaporClean is my 1st high-quality low-cost choice.
thanks I was wondering if I should get the shark pocket steamer😉
Love it.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
3:47 lol
Hey Lorraine Saiz(from 2mo ago), I think the problem you had with this product was Operator error!
How does the shark steam pocket do with soap scum in the shower?
I want to buy the mop version of this because I have a seven month old baby girl who is just about to start crawling. Can you let me know if its a good buy. I don't want to waste my money.
My comment is about rust. I had clothes steamers in the past and nature wins, rusty specks come out. I would like a 30 day follow up. Great presentation. Thanks for sharing
I liked your funny side. The best parts are when you throw things carelessly 🤣😆
Greetings from Switzerland.
Oh my gosh this intro was hilarious. I have been an avid CMS watcher for years... how have I not watched this yet???
Hey Melissa,
I watched the pillow cleaning video and I was wondering if the Shark would clean them just as well as what you recommended in the pillow video?
Thanks Alex
What puts me off buying one for that price is wondering how long it lasts for and if the pump/thermostat goes how easy is it to get replacement parts? I prefer the steamers that are also mops but the lightweight aspect to this one has its advantages...
i have one sense 2011 still going strong✌
Could you give me some more ideas on using my shark steam, would love to see your other uses. Thanks!!
I have Bruce Hardwood floors and there are spaces between the planks that get filthy! I'm looking for a good way to clean between them so I don't have to do it on my knees with a toothbrush. Any thoughts?
would you have a recommendation for a cheaper steam cleaner for carpet/hardwood floors?
Dear Melissa,
I have a full sized shark steam mop, and I love it, unfortunately it gets dirty easily, how do you clean your shark dusters? Any special tips or tricks to keep it sanitized and clean?
I need to get my hands on this. Looks like a lot of great attachments are included!
Can't really say it convinced me to buy the steamer, because I bought it on a whim (yay impulse buys!) and was actually second guessing myself before I opened and used it. Can say it made me stop second guessing. Now, to unbox and use!
Another great video! Question: do you think this thing would work on car upholstery?
