- Shopping at the Paris Flea Market is the perfect way to spend a weekend. In this video, we explore the most famous flea market in Paris at Porte de Clignancourt called Les Puces de Saint-Ouen and share our tips for how to maximize your visit. 'Les Puces' means 'the fleas' and this market is made up of many smaller markets. It covers 7 hectares and there are between 120,000 and 180,000 visitors every weekend! We recommend going to Marché Vernaison for the most fun browsing and the best chance of finding something you can afford (in some areas the prices are in the 5 figure range...). Here you'll find many stalls with antiques, stationary, clothing, beads, cameras, buttons, furniture, home goods, and many more items to dig through. It's so big that you really need a map. We're sharing our favourite stalls and where to find them. If you're someone who LOVES thrifting and going to markets in general (like me!) then going here will feel like visiting the mothership. Even if you don't usually enjoy this sort of shopping, however, you'll still find it interesting because there are so many unique finds and it's a great chance to interact with locals.

It's so true, Linda! You could spend a loooong time even just walking down the rows and going into shops without picking up a single thing. Being there is overwhelming but in a good way. So many things caught my eye 💕

I've only ever been to a flea market in Munich, but this one looks like it has heaps of different variety! Love the vintage cameras..I'd probably be hanging around there spending all my monies. Definitely need to go check this out next time we're in Paris!

Awesome spot, definitely going to check this out next time I'm in Paris! I would spend a while at that camera stall... This is definitely the place to come when you have a new place to decorate and fill with things - not so good for nomad life, you get very good at browsing haha

SO happy for you & Marc were able to have so much fun during this video; to find & spend time in Paris at that flea market, checking out the trinkets, antiques, walking around & drinking a little coffee while looking at everything. Whatever that was at the 6:14 point in the video was a little odd from those guys suddenly running past you & Marc. At the end of this: Lol, furniture or a couch.. not so suitcase-friendly, hahaha. I love visiting markets when travelling! 🙌I'm not so much into antiques but I would have spent a lot of time at the camera shop.😂 Looking at the map of the market at 4:11, it suddenly reminded me of the immense Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok.

I have been looking all over the World for beads, used 1980s Leica and colorful pins. Now I know where to find them.

April likes the beads on display too! I like the old maps. How long does it take to get to this from the Eiffel Tower area? Where do you keep the pins you bought? This looks like our kind of place--at least for a couple hours!
Hmm I'm not sure exactly how long it'd take but it's not close at all. You'd definitely want to take the subway. The Paris Flea is way north of the tower. Worth the trip up, in my opinion!

I'm not sure how big a camera you want or what your budget is but I'd say the Canon G7X is a great camera for vlogging. Small, easy to use, flip up screen 👍Puerto Vallarta is wonderful - hope you have a great honeymoon! If you have time, Sayulita is a little town close by that we love too. I'm often going to some flea markets in Bucharest, and it rarely happens to leave without buying anything. They have so many interesting objects, I think some of them are real treasures! Love the green car in your video.

I found this article that has some suggestions: mentalfloss.com/article/31795/why-are-flea-markets-called I've also heard that a rich man in Paris visited such a market back in the day and looked down from his horse and thought the people there looked like 'fleas'....so who knows?!
