- Paris is a fantastic city to go shopping. Even if you're not feeling spendy, you'll find inspiration, history, and beautiful architecture. This video is about four famous shopping experiences in Paris that are worth visiting even if you don't plan on buying anything. French born in Paris, but having lived my whole life in overseas, when visiting my family, I have to go to the Galeries Lafayette if only to admire its magnificent dome. For food, I just go to Monoprix or to the market for quality and reasonable price tags. There are 72 open markets in Paris. I also return home with lots of kitchen items from Monoprix. For flowers, I love the flower market on Île de la Cité, named Marché aux Fleurs Reine Elisabeth II, after a visit of the Queen in 2014. I could spend hours there.
@@francinesicard464 Bonjour Francine! I can see why you always visit Lafayette to admire the beautiful dome! Have you been at Christmas? It's spectacular. Stocking up at Monoprix is a great idea too. Thank you for the recommendation of the flower market. I have been to the bird market kind of nearby (we actually made a video there too) but not the flower market so I will add it to my list :)
@@EileenAldis Hello Eileen, yes I did visit Lafayette at Christmas. It's a madhouse then. But the decorations are fabulous. Another of my favourite tours in Paris is the Bouquinistes along the Seine river. You can find books that are not anymore edited, it's my kind of treasure hunt. Became happy to see big superstore s in Paris like la BonMonache,Delllerhion,,Gallery Lafayette,where in wooden shelves and creaking stairs I would definitely like to visit if given an opportunity

Lafayette would have to be one of my fave spots to 'window shop' and just admire the architecture. I'll have to check out Monoprix next time we're in Paris. I had no idea it was like a Target!
I'm one of those people that likes to window shop and these were all great recommendations to check out! That's interesting that they had the first department store in the world. The historical kitchen store looks amazing!

We love Le Bon Marche! Lafayette is super nice, and the pastries on the first floor are divine! Paris is such a great place for shopping…thanks for bringing back fond memories!

Shopped in Galeries Lafayette great place-by shopped I just looked at things but my daughter bought a hat

E dillhillron is good to shop with its old history since 1820 .I like to do shopping and fun like that shope which takes you back to olden years ,seldom such old shops will be around

All totally awesome places to shop!!! It would be a dream to buy something at Dehillerin, but honestly, I'd love to explore all of those malls/stores. Also, I LOVED how Ina Garten and Julia Child appeared in your video, too. So funny!

Paris is the place for shopping for sure. I missed out on the first 2 (next time) but I have been to LaFayette (amazing dome) and Monoprix. Wow now price tags.

Galeries Lafayette is so beautiful especially during the holidays the decorations are better than Macy's in NYC

I plan to travel Paris next few months. But i confuse not having enough time to shopping. Because your recommend was so great to visit. I wish that malls could open 24h a day and 7 days a week.

As they say, 'The higher the dome, the higher the credit card bill!' I believe parts of Galeries Lafayette were based on the nearby Opera House and it's easy to see the similarities. So gorgeous. I think you mean Ina Garten but I'm sure Hannah Garten (and everyone else, for that matter) would enjoy it too 😉 😘

haha wasn't it fortuitous that we saw Ina Garten at the Bon Marché!? 😂 I WISH!! I'd heard about Dehillerin before when I read a biography of Julia Child and it was so cool to see it in person. Made me feel inspired to cook French food! Oh, and those Converse weren't mine by the way but I wish they were! So cute ❤️
Time to get on a flight and make my way to Galeries Lafayette to see that big beautiful dome!
The dome is incredible and I love how the store has all those opera-like balconies that face into the grand hall with the dome 😍
