The mafia seems like a mixed bag of emotions.
It’s disturbing, disgusting and terrifying yet it’s also mesmerising and mystifying.
They're psychopathic and amoral pieces of shit. But also very entertaining to learn about and watch movies of.
@@EndOfSmallSanctuary97 I wouldn't say amoral. They had some. Hell they had more morals than some people that aren't even in the mob. Some people are just plain pieces of shit. A lot of people actually.
Everyone is a gangster till a gangster walks into the room. Well in my estate in Dublin when 5 of them walked into the room, you know its was not gonna be good. That scene in goodfellas funny how I'm a clown I amuse you...imagine 5 of those walking into a party not good stuff
@@EndOfSmallSanctuary97 They definitely had morals. Read up on it. The ones with no morals were the Zips that worked in Italy. They actually used bombs to kill, Cosa Nostra in America didn't. They also didn't have a problem with dealing drugs, But Cosa Nostra in America has strict rules against dealing drugs. Per Carlo Gambino's edict, "DEAL AND DIE" Those guys were men's men!!! They had a ton of honor. They didn't kill innocent people, in Italy however they killed anyone. In America... They just stick to keeping it in the family.

“I don’t consider myself a mafia historian” says a guy who would be studied by a mafia historian
That is true. His words will be studied and compared with the words of others, police, records, newspapers, etc. As you know, he is actually somewhat an historian of his era perticularly in his mob family and some of what was going on with the 5 families and around the world.
He is separating what he knows from what he really isn't expertto on which might be the early origins in America and Italy and what goes on now in either country. Not to metion how differently it eveiolved in all those plsaces and how they differ from each other. Ok
My mom’s grandfather (my great grandfather) was a Genevese and was a part of the original Genevese mafia crime family and apparently he left when Vito left the mafia world and wanted out, but he, according to one of my aunt’s (on my grandmother’s side), spent about 12 years living in Chicago because the Chicago mob agreed to keep them under protection from the other NY mafia families. Crazy.
One of the things I like about Michael is that he sticks to the point. No faffing about and he stays relevant to his subject. He’s a very talented orator 🦉

Your children are the luckiest adult kids around! My father was alcoholic. When he put the key 🔑 in the front door every evening, we scattered and either hid, or ran outside to get away from him. I NEVER had a proper sit down with my father because in his drunken state, he’d repeat himself over and over about nonsense we didn’t want to hear. Thank you Michael for always giving us a lesson at the end of every video! You help more than you know! Much respect to you sir! 😊
I wouldn’t even say his children are lucky.. I mean if or they are in the mafia organization or something with contracts. Hell, you’re gonna deal with a LOT of shit than hiding from an unarmed man. I think when people around them knew their family works for the mafia, they’ll probably either be violent or be shitty shock mocks. Because you know, fucking people will think their a threat to their life and his children had to be fucking careful for that. Some might secretly try to assassinate them just for some revenge cuz their people killed their love ones or something. But I do hope you’ll be ok though. There can be one day shit will go down when it comes to some alcoholics. So, be careful! And be ready and aware for that

Not sure if Mike was a killer. He might have been, but not sure. According to an FBI mob investigator, to rise up you had to be a killer or an earner. Michael was the mob's greatest earner since Capone. Good for him if he didn't have to kill or have have his crew kill. But if he did, he thanks God for for salvation through Christ.
@@t.b.player7102 Before he got made, he had to prove himself, and he wasn't an earner at that point, so will leave it at that. He had to do things to get enough respect to be made in the first place, and you don't get made by being a boy scout leader.
@@HamiltonRb
I got you. Remember though, his father was a respected and feared under boss. We can say that doesn't matter, that everyone has to make his bones, but being the son of a boss like that has some clout. Again, I'm not saying Michael was a boy scout. He's never out right said he's killed and that can very well be a smart move because there's no statute of limitations on murder, but his main thing was earning.
@@t.b.player7102 You are right, and what he doesn't say is just as telling as what he does say whenever the topic of murders comes up. Don't blame him at all for not wanting to incriminate himself.
