    I just set up one of these machines, purchased it based on what I saw in this review. It seems that the extruder steps have been corrected, and the fan speed is controllable out of the box! Seems like Kingroon is listening to feedback, and this thing is definitely a candidate for filling out a print farm at a reasonable price.

    I appreciate and respect reprinting the same objects like the infinity cube, number puzzle, mesh crate, etc. for every printer. It is a very smart way to test basic tolerances and print quality amongst other things. Keep doing these awesome, well-rounded, and well-informed reviews!

    I love that you print the same part using different parameters. I also appreciate your calm, soft demeanor in discussing the printers. To many reviewers use way to much theatrics and effects that at first are cool, but get annoying fast. Lastly, you convey trust and honesty, with no clandestine profit motives. These points really are not specific to todays KP3S review only, but are overlying observations in all your videos. Thanks Aurora Tech!

    Once again a perfect review, thanks as always Aurora!
    Over time and the more I get comfortable with 3d printing the main thing I look for in these products is just the components and features included for the price. You simply get better value on some printers as complete products than you would building from scratch even if you ultimately end up doing your own thing with those parts eventually. This Kingroon from what I can tell is just an ideal little package of components if you're looking for a high quality mini bed slinger with kilpper. Thanks for doing the trouble shooting for us in advance. Ordered one today and excited to try kilpper for the first time!

    I already have the printers that I am happy with, one Bambu close to 2000 print hours now, but I still come back to this channel to see what is out there and see what bloopers are on the end.

    Excellent review and very useful detailing the minor bug fixes, thank you! I have three KP3S, a KP3S PRO S1 and now the KP3S PRO V2. Kingroon make wonderful compact little printers - but out of the box you've got to be prepared to fix some minor niggles and generally just "tune it" Once you've done that they're excellent little machines :-)

    You always get me with the Sunlu promotion. You keep saying they have TPU but I've checked repeatedly and they never have it in stock. 😞
    It's good to see more 3D printers, including lower cost bed slingers, now shipping with Klipper. Kudos to Kingroon for using the full version of Klipper instead of crippling it as Creality did on the K1 series. Klipper and Fluidd means I can tolerate the budget tiny LCD and clicky knob interface because I'll generally control the printer from my computer. Kudos to Kingroon for having WiFi on their low cost Klipper machine (unlike Elegoo with their Neptune 4 and 4 Pro).
    4:50 - That's a very flat looking bed calibration. I'm not a fan of these cantilevered X axis machines but this looks very good! The beefy linear rails look impressive.
    20:50 - I wish all manufacturers would make good profiles for popular slicers instead of re-skinning a slicer to be proprietary to their one printer, and I wish they'd get those profiles correct instead of Aurora Tech or another UA-cam technical 3D printer reviewer being forced to fix their config files and slicer profiles to make their printers work properly.
    Kingroon got a lot right in this 3D printer. Apparently the extruder is solid (unlike Creality's first attempt on the K1), not withstanding shipping a review printer with 25% over extrusion. If Kingroon fixes the extrusion calibration, fixes the fan so it works at all speeds, and does a bit better job with hardware issues such as the fan duct and fasteners, this could be a nice little printer.

    Another great review. I considered getting this or the kp1l a while back but held off once I started to see negative feedback online. So I decided to get the sv06 and sv06 plus instead and I am happy I did. The print quality was very good compared to my anycubic kobra and the sv06 line can easily be converted to klipper. I have a pi3b and a sonic pad so will migrate them soon to klipper. It is a shame kingroon made so many mistakes trying to rush these klipper printers to market. They should have taken their time and just did it right. They lost all the momentum they had with the kp3s line by doing that. It will now take a while for consumers to build confidence again so the money they expected to gain by coming to market so quickly ended up losing them way more in the long run.

    good job especially finding and fixing some of the issues. I print PLA at 213 are you hotter for a reason. The drier proved its value, My print lab is in my basement. I have a dehumidifier but PC is awful every time. I like linear rails Direct Drive even smaller is ok for small parts but as a retired engineer the cantilevered X axis feels weird to me. $230 Klipper Printer but low temp Hot End reduced the strong filaments. Good review and always educational for us too. Thank You, Dennis

      I have tried nearly every glue stick and so-called "professional" 3D printing adhesive, some of which cost $25 or even more. However, none of them have performed as effectively as Elmer's Craft Bond Extra Strength Glue Stick, which only costs $3.25 for a 0.88 oz stick. When it comes to bed cleaning, simply using warm soap water and a brush is sufficient. Always out of stock on Amazon: amzn.to/3qDsDJW

    Looks like the only decent sub 100 dollar mini (they go on sale several times per year) is the Ender 2 Pro - Please do a review on these. My Kingroon is only good as a rough draft type printer - it does not make nice prints. Even my Ender 2 (non-pro) prints better. The Kingroon PLA filament is okay though.

  • @Bilikgame
    @Bilikgame Рік тому

    Oh wow, thanks a lot for this very detailed reviews. I am torn between Creality Ender 2 Pro or this one for a "small" sized printer, and this one's printing speed got me interested in it. Then I saw the initial test benchy and thought of it in negative light. Then the extruder settings fix made this printer seemed much more promising (at least in its technical capability). I do feel that Kingroon should really consider polishing their products though, since most users would just equate "bad prints = bad product"

    The high speed fan can still work - you need to run them at a MUCH higher pwm frequency. I have high speed part cooling fans -- they're commonly used in servers, and the PWM used there is 30-40khz, not the default 100hz used by killper and other firmwares. If you adjust the PWM frequency, these high speed fans can run at lower RPM -- i can generally get them down to 5% speed even.

    • @kazolar
      @kazolar Рік тому

      @karurochari3769 I'm saying it works for me with similar high speed fans, it is very likely the board in this machine is simply unable to generate 40khz pwm, or fans used vary by target frequency. Some are 10khz fans, those tend to be cheaper fans. I'm just saying that high rpm fans can work, they just need more tuning.

People are after quality not something slapped together to rush to market. Quality, a resemble speed increase and long term use are the major things customers expect from new machine's. As a model maker that's looking to purchase several new machines, it's these features that need to be offered before money is parted with.

    For fast printing only. I have heat creep issues, the hotend fan is quite weak and the cooling fins aren't designed well. The whole assembly is machined out of 1 part, it gets too warm, making PLA soften on the way to the hotend when printing slow/medium speed. Result is stringing/clogging. Not a good printer for miniatures. (EDIT the heatbreak design was changed in the latest versions, using a much thinner heatbreak now - so this might be fixed now)

    Great review, and I have to say... this machine is "peak Kingroon," lol.
    I've owned four of their machines, and they're each about 90% finished with the last 10% being total QA failures. Bugs in the firmware, misaligned limit sensors/gantry, missing parts, bad rates, defective fans...
    I get that they're dirt cheap, but it would have taken an additional day or two for their QA people to report all of these bugs and have them fixed before shipping.
    For experts like us they're a cheap way of adding capabilities to our makerspaces, but I think anyone new to the hobby is going to have a bad time.

    Nah, i'm done with kingroon. They totally did not fix the k5 series and just left the auto leveling upgrade broken with no updates for more than a year. I didn't bother upgrading my K3 printer. I Got so frustrated with them that I threw all my Kingroon printers and replaced them with Sovol.

      Considering a firesale on my small farm of Kingroons as well. I REALLY wanted to love these things. So much potential but nothing but issues and lack of support

      I have a feeling that the company knows how to assemble them together like a kid assembling a desktop PC, but they don't know how to fix software problems.
      What really made me mad is when i read that they were going to focus on their new K3PS printer and didn't respond to help on the forums. This means they will totally ignore everything and leave us hanging so they can devote their efforts on the new product.

    To speed up every printer nowadays is a worse trend. Cleaner and accurate prints with slitghtly faster movements than the old Standard were the better goal for manufacturers.

    I like the aspect of a budget fast printer but the cons (especially the fan and it working only at 100%) i think Id rather build a rook printer.

      Yes, it was printed with 25% over extrusion due to incorrect parameters with the stock Klipper firmware. Surprisingly, some prints weren't affected as much.

    Hello Aurora, could you please tell me the lenght of all linear rail axis?
    I was thinking of buying it to mod it by using one of the Y axes in Z, but if they have different lengths, it won't work.

      Yes, it has some issues - not that big of a deal for experienced users - but for the price of $229, it's still an amazing deal. If Kingroon fixes all those minor issues and includes a new part fan with all printers, this could actually become a pretty solid machine.
