On a recent visit to Cuba I was able to film and travel in a 1955 Chevrolet. I learned about the unique history of cuba that has resulted in the huge number of classic cars still being used today.
I was also lucky enough to get a workshop visit too see how these classic cars are restored and modified in Cubs with very limited resources.

There is an American TV show 'Cuban Chrome' that shows some these guys modifying engines etc and the ingenuity these use. From memory it starts before the USA lifted the trade embargo. Very entertaining and interesting. Not sure where you can watch it.
