@@Emilio333 Tuve la oportunidad de ver esta película en el cine por allá el año 1991... Experiencias únicas e irrepetibles que se quedan por siempre en la memoria...
Got this on cd back in the 90s, and then on vinyl a few years ago. Saw the movie at the cinema when it came out, then saw it again not too long ago. The cinema experience is not to be missed.
Came out in 4k 2 years back in Vegas...dragged my then girlfriend to it, blathering about how wild it is as well as the heart of the story, these two abandoned boys in a power struggle with each other yet also bonded by the heart breaking fact they are really all they got, with each other...fuck, this movie still holds up. 🖤 🖤 🖤
What do you mean "and it's anime". Are you shitting on the medium that had a variety of outstanding works, and creative imagination that not many filmmakers can be proud of?
I first saw Akira when i was a computer coding and game design class in Lansing, Michigan, funnily enough in 2019. I had a pretty rough time at the class, but decided to watch the movie during breaktime. I had heard of the movie, but had never watched it all the way through. the entire film took about 3 days to watch, taking into account the breaks between classes. And when i was finished, near the end of my time in Lansing, I was left haunted, terrified, thrilled, and impressed beyond words.
This theme will be always something to return to, and the soundtrack for Akira is so interesting and clever. The fact that most of the soundtrack is based on very traditional music and instruments. For a film that’s based far into the future, in its futuristic dystopian setting. I feel as if somehow this type of music surprisingly goes even more well with the film then just some electronic beats. Otomo has created a world that is very futuristic, but still holds some of the past. This theme can be seen to create this war-like feeling, and it truly goes perfectly for introducing this world. This theme aside isn’t just important, but it’s how it blends in so world to create this interesting and unique atmosphere for a dystopian society.
I've finished the manga today, I'm kinda sad that has ended but... What a memorable manga! Amazing ending, amazing story... Will read it many times yet.
@@rigel8755 Japan is known for their super strict copyright. I remember most japanese musicians didn't post the full version of their music video. Channel that upload the full version, they will take down the videos. You need to buy the album.
I repeat this movie every time I can and it always leaves me with chronic existentialism and nihilism at the end, but it doesn't bother me at all. Everyone prepare for Akira's great awakening 🙌

this movie, my fav movie ever, led me into reading Nietzsche. And years later I realized there are many ties with Carl Jung's works too. These 2 are now my fav authors. Akira is to me so deep, so much about the deeper meaning of human life and everything that's wrong about our current civilization.
Listening to this soundtrack always gives me a hard-on!! I sometimes imagine myself riding on Kaneda’s bike chasing down the Clowns in the movie!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Where is the tetsuo theme song, does anyone know where I can find a copy, UA-cam took it down for some reason, and the only thing I have now is the remix someone made. So where is the tetsuo theme now?
They deleted it, it used to be on a playlist on this channel - victor/milan records keeps claiming themselves and removing it. It might come back up again in a year or two.
When I saw this in theatres, I got goosebumps from the beginning scene. If you ever have the chance to, PLEASE watch this on the big screen!
Just watched it in cinemas. The opening is amazing!
Or in 4K and HDR TV ;)
Mannnn I got goosebumps watching it as a kid on a tiny little TV. I KNOW the big screen would blow my mind

It's the cd version different from the Vinyl? I'm confused by its different track list (only 4 long tracks on the cd and with different names on it)
The cd I bought had 10 tracks, the same as the recent vinyl release. Not sure what cd you've seen.

only geinoh yamashirogumi would pull every upload of the soundtrack
I hope Netflix keeps their hands off this one when it comes to live action anime remakes.

Well that the Tokyo Olympics could have this opening song
the very fact they postponed the 2020 olympics is a AKIRA reference

Listening to Akira whilst playing through an old 2d platformer a la Mega Man is a transformative experience. One I'm engaged in presently.
Listen to this when playing the original Deus Ex.
Wow
Why did every other song get pulled? It’s pretty impossible to find a high quality version of Requiem anywhere easily
