Can I just say I love it when you put the pattern up on the screen when you are knitting I like to knit along and learn . it makes it really easy to follow and I also right the patterns down too
I so appreciate how you type out the pattern to the left of the screen but yet at the same time narrate what you're doing. Keep up the good work and thanks for all the help video that you produce.
This is easily my favourite knit-stitch pattern- I started knitting several months ago at school, before quarantine, and then I found your channel. And that's where I learned how to purl. Thanks for that one. And every pattern I've learnt because i learned all of them from you- Excuse my ranting
Hi Kristen. I am a new knitter (we don't actually need to knit here in my country haha) and your tutorials really helps! I love how patient you are explaining and doing everything slowly for the beginners.
I’m just starting to knit a baby blanket ,this pattern is fantastic thank you for showing how to do this stitch. You explain and show how to do the stitch very slowly.
I love this stitch I taught my self to knitt , but my grandma taught me how to crochet before she passed away . Im trying to find some new stitches to try out and this is one of them . Thank you so much for the totorial.
Love the color of yarn you choose for the video. It looks like a buttermilk waffle. Lol It would look super cute made up in the sugar & cream yarn as a dish cloth. Thanks Kristen 💜
Hi, thank you ! your video and instructions are so clear and helpful it makes me proud when I try the waffle stitch with my simple project and I can't believe I did it it's beautiful !!!
@@studioknit For the border pattern version, I didn't see it on your website. Basically, just add two stitches at the beginning and end of each row and do two rows or however many I would want before starting pattern?
To add the boarder do we add 4 additional stiches to the total cast on (2 on each side?) Then knit these two then start the patern then knit the last two on every row?
My hands are not appreciating DPNs, magic loop, or small circulars, to do beanies. I am playing with doing some fancy, top-down crochet to start the hats, then picking up the stitches and doing knit the rest of the way. I'd love to incorporate the knit waffle stitch. I didn't see a waffle stitch in the round, and wonder how different it would be from back and forth rows? I have crocheted since my 20s, now 70 years young, but have only knitted since May 2023. Any hints? Thank you for your very clear videos, especially keeping the stitch info on the side of each video! ❤
Thinking of doing this for a boanket for a three year old but my griend doesnt want a border will tgis curl up, also l was thinking of adding extra two stitches so l can slip on beginning of each row, dont want block it x
Hi Kristen! What size needles and what type of yarn did you use in your video please? I'm trying to create this using baby yarn on US size 8 needles, but it's not quite working out...
I’m curious what everyone prefers. The metal needles or wooden ones?? I’m a new knitter and I have only used metal ones but I see you use the wooden ones a lot
Hi I'm also a new knitter and I'm sure you have found an answer already but I have used both wooden and metal needles and I think it's just a matter of preference. I am a tighter knitter and the wooden needles were just too grippy for my taste and I found that the metal needles have a lot more slip to them and are easier to slide the yarn up and down the needle.
The pattern doesn’t account for the border. According to what she said, I added 2 on the side so casting on is x3 +1 +4 (for each row pattern i added 2 knits at the start and end). Before starting i did 2 garter rows and 2 ending the piece too. Hope this clears it up for anyone who wants a border :)
I have a question for you in regards to this. When it comes to the last 4 rows when you are finishing off a project do you knit on the 2 knit stitches for a border or do you start right off with the stitches after the Asterik?? I'm doing dishcloths in the waffle stitch pattern with the borders. I have been finishing off the dishcloths I have been doing lately with out the border on the last 4 rows and things aren't quite working out. Thanks for your advice.
Hi! I am refreshing my knitting after 40 , yes forty! years off. I've tried books,a friend, and youtube , but it seemed like each source was different from the other. I LOVE your site and am doing a lot of practice. When you say your patterns are "on the link below", I can't find them. Could you or someone in the subscriber list tell me where to find them, please?
question, how do you keep track of rows? I find that in patterns with multiple rows if I put the project down and come back that i get confused and can't figure out which row I'm I'm
Haha, yes! I accidentally "pranked" my husband who thought I made waffles for dinner when he came home from work. Think he deserves to come home to an actual waffle dinner tonight!!
So you cast on 15 in this tutorial plus one extra stitch on end. You just kind of separated them to show Us the multiple of 3, you didn't make an actual space or anything like that, right? very new to knitting, so please forgive the rudementary question.
Nikki Buford I casted on 24 stitches +1, so 25 in total for a tiny blanket I’m making for my 20cm doll 💕 Row one would be: K P P K P P K P P K P P K P P K P P K P P K P P K Row two would be: P K K P K K P K K P K K P K K P K K P K K P K K P Row three would be: Knit all stitches Row four would be: Knit all stitches Then repeat what you did on row one for the fifth row This pattern is a four-row repeat~ ^ ^
Love the color of yarn you choose for the video. It looks like a buttermilk waffle. Lol It would look super cute made up in the sugar & cream yarn as a dish cloth. Thanks Kristen 💜

I've repeated the rows 3 times but I'm just not seeing the waffle. Did I do it wrong?
I so appreciate how you type out the pattern to the left of the screen but yet at the same time narrate what you're doing. Keep up the good work and thanks for all the help video that you produce.

Love your friendly, soothing voice. It helps me focus while learning a new stitch! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us! 🤗
As a beginner this is so much easier than the basket weave. And I think it's prettier! I ♡ your tutorials!
Hi Kristen! I would love to see the Diamond Stitch next! It's a very pretty stitch, I hope you can show us how!
Thanks! :)
+SilverGlaceon86 Yes, great idea! I'll put it in my list!! 💍💗👏🏼

Cutest display ever!! I love them in the toaster!
Haha. Thanks Jessica!!!
Thank you so much, I learn knitting by my grandma but she only speak Portuguese and it's hard to translate, now I'm ready 😘
This was the first video I watched from your channel and I was hooked! I will be using this pattern to make a short scarf or longer cowel as a gift. 🎁
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing a border version of this pattern! It looks much better!
Glad you like it!

Wonderful! Congratulations! 💖
Thank you Kristen.

Yes, please clarify on the borders
Fantastic Kristen Needed a dishcloth 🌞😁
I have tried this one and it came out beautifully!
Can you teach us more scarf knitting patterns please? Thank you Studio Knit!
Love this pattern so easy
Thank you that is the second pattern l like.

Hi Studio Knit! I hope you get 1,000,000 subscribers someday! Maybe one more will help 😊

Hello ... I'm trying to knit a blanket using this stitch pattern with a border. how many would I have to cast on so it works..
Hello love the waffle stitch can I use Caron cake yarn to make this
Hi and thank you for great video, what size of needle are you using please.🙋🏻♀️❤️
Hi Kristen! What size needles and what type of yarn did you use in your video please? I'm trying to create this using baby yarn on US size 8 needles, but it's not quite working out...
I suggest worsted weight yarn on your 8 US needles.
It would be really cool if you opened up another contest soon! Please do!
I’m curious what everyone prefers. The metal needles or wooden ones??
I’m a new knitter and I have only used metal ones but I see you use the wooden ones a lot

I love tight knits so I find that just whatever needles could work best with the yarn at hand.
Beautiful!!!
What are the projects where use these stitches?
if we are planning on doing the border around it, should we account for the border in the cast on, or does the pattern allow for the border?
Can you let me know how the border affects the pattern? Want to make a pillow. Many thanks xx
The pattern doesn’t account for the border. According to what she said, I added 2 on the side so casting on is x3 +1 +4 (for each row pattern i added 2 knits at the start and end). Kristen is all the pattern you see on line are they in your book?
I ordered one tonight..
I often have trouble with patterns that curl at the edges. Can you add edge stitches to this pattern so it doesn't curl?
Awesome. Thank you 👍🏻
Hello friend👋 how are you doing?
Hi Kristen what size needles do you use

I did the stitch but when I tied it off it looked funny on the end. Any advice?

i dont know if u still need help with this but try one of those row counters you can wear on your finger
How to make the end border?
That will make a nice scarf
Good
Hahahahahahahaha love it!!!!!
Hi, Constantine! Ha, thanks. Syrup is optional.
You KILLED me when you poured that syrup on the yarn 😟😟😟😟😟

lol prank at breakfast!😆

Is this type of pattern only for design and/I prop or, can you actually make a waffle-style hat or scarf?
Yes, you can absolutely create knitwear with this pattern. I'm just having fun showing it off "waffle-style!" Haha. Happy knitting to you!
