Hey Dal, I have to say in regards to WoW putting "new" and "returning" players in one category is a bit odd to me. I think both monk, and DK (especially blood) are amongst some of the tougher classes to play and not ones I'd recommend for new players. Of course everyone has their own opinion, I just think separating the 2 categories would've been more helpful. A Balance druid or hunter spring to mind as some of the easier ones.
Yeah can confirm I'm brand new to WoW and tried to do some research before hand on solid DPS classes and windwalker monk was consistently voted one of the top. When I tried to play it I was getting absolutely melted a few hours in. I switched to BM hunter after and it's been smooth sailing since.
What the hell is that clip of the feral? First you watch from the hunters pov, watching the feral in cc, then you swap to the feral for a second before swapping back to hunter, ccing the feral again.

For questing solo sure.
But imagine dungeons full of tanks who have nfc what to do. What route to take. What to pull and what to ignore.

Idk if you're asking for you or just in general, but here's what I can think of. Feel free to ask for any clarification or whatever.
Biggest catch up mechanics right now are really more for alts, though not all. Hitting level 50/60 on one character unlocks chromie time for 10-49 and Threads of Fate for 50-60, respectively. Both of these offer more freedom in leveling, and are generally faster if you know what you're doing or have a guide. Look up how to unlock flying in shadowlands if you dont have it already, and that will unlock it for all characters.
Once you hit 80 renown with one covenant on one character, you unlock a 500g bind-on-account item (sold next to flight master in oribos) that sets renown to 60. With that you can skip renown 1-59 with any covenant on any character (this will also give a decent amount of anima). That vendor also sells some other similar items, like one that gives you all conduits at a certain ilvl.
You only have to finish each covenant campaign once. On your other characters you should see some "i know ___, skip ahead" option that skips the first 3 chapters and unlocks all 3 soulbinds. The same goes for other campaign stuff like the Korthia (not needed) and Zereth Mortis intros. One thing in Korthia though is a vendor that sells BoA items that allow you to transfer soul ash and soul cinders (needed for legendaries) to other characters.
In Haven there is a vendor that sells BoA tokens for 500 anima each. These tokens give you an item of the token's type at ilvl226, which can be a helpful boost if you have a lot of anima or can help fill in gear pieces you just cant get to drop from dungeons. The reputation vendor there sells an item that gives all conduits at a higher ilvl than the oribos one. There is also a vendor that offers old legendary powers originally obtained from the 1st few raids for varying currencies.
The last big catch up I can think of is the Creation Catalyst. It's a location in Zereth Mortis that lets you turn certain gear into tier pieces. It uses charges that accumulate over time (you dont have to be lv60 or do anything for these so you should have plenty) and cosmic flux, which you get in ZM, mythic dungeons, and raid (maybe PvP, idk). Put any raid, mythic+, or rated PvP gear in and you'll get the corresponding tier piece out at the same ilvl. It will keep any sockets, tertiary stats (speed, leech, etc), and the upgrade path/requirements of the original item so you can raise its ilvl later. The head, shoulder, chest, glove, and leg pieces are most important, as these give set bonuses depending on your class/spec.
All in all I'd suggest working on unlocking the first few things I mentioned and making some gold, getting rep with the Enlightened Ones, or leveling alts over the next couple weeks. Season 4 starts August 2nd for NA (3rd for everyone else), and with it the item levels obtained from raid, dungeon, and PvP content will all be increased, so there's not much point in gearing up right now. Also some of the dungeons will no longer be mythic+, being replaced by ones from older expansions, so if that's something you're interested in it'd be better to wait.

@@mattyd337 Not necessarily. I was just stating a joke of how hunter is easy to pickup ( hard to git gud?) and with a pet you usually don't have trouble with any mob.
@@mattyd337 Hunter is good if you are starting out alone and have to solo hard stuff by yourself. Especially if you are not geared yet. A good tanky pet selection and you're golden while you level up.

You're making recommendations for new players to play the most complex classes in the game with Blood DK, Windwalker monk, etc... I Don't recommend those to new players. They are fine for alts though.
Would kind of agree. WW compared to say hunter or warlock. Could of maybe broke this video in half and put easy/fun classes and then do good alt classes. Oh well. :)

I am a noob in Wow. I levelled 4 alts and I can say that the affliction warlock is the easiest to play. It has low single target damage but can fight up to 5 targets simultaneously. It’s almost boring how easy is to level up.
Why are your skill bindings like that?
Is Warlock fun to play? Decent rotation etc? I want to try ranged after being mostly Melee my whole career and warlock is something I never really played
destruction is the most freindly spec for new to warlock
Demonology is crazy easy and if you get the right build you’ll have trouble running out of soul shards.

It's the mage tower artifact appearance for Affliction warlocks, I think it's obtainable in SL since mage tower is permanently up

It's the druid (tank spec) normally it looks like a normal bear but with the nage tower you can get an achievement that gives you that form. Hope this helps you. It is also my favourite form in the game

Damage dealing tanks, damage dealing years. This is a wtf moment. They will have damage dealers with powerful heals. Like they did with mists of pandaria when healing rain would proc on enhancement shaman.
Dps that is not glass cannons is understandable, but if too tanky there are no need for tanks.
What about an Elemental shaman ?

I think this video still doesn't narrow down choices for indecided people who want to get back quick, you just took 3 classes out of the way there are still too many to choose in this video. What is the most fun class for returning players? Let me start by saying every single healing spec is the MOST fun.....
Just my opinion, but I feel like when you suggest New players coming back to 9.2.5 to play a drood?! Your enticing more furries to join and just RP n jack off in animal forms.
To play a druid really good and execute things, +Shapeshifting properly. Theres' a actually a big skill cap to play one. Remember the Quote "Jack of All Trades, Master of None."
