Right now everything Ultimate Spider-man and X-men has been amazing to me. Black Panther is also solid right after, but I'm just not aware enough of the characters to really appreciate everything they're doing. Ultimates right now is pretty good, but even though I like the story and a lot of little character moments, the cast is just not for me. To me, S tier, S tier, A, and B (just for the way I'm taking it in)? That's a pretty fantastic run. I just want more series! Maybe some space stuff and some magic stuff?
I am LOVING this new universe! It’s been so fun to go pick them up on release day at my local shop. With the Ultimates coming out next month looks like there will be a new one coming out weekly which would be awesome
Knowing how the ultimate universe's heroes came to be, it feels right that most of the known mutants would prefer living "normal lives", if they are even alive, over being part of a minority that nearly faces genocide every other week
So far, yes. But the OG Ultimate universe was looking good at the start, and then it took a HARD nose dive. So let's give it some time before we decide on which is better ... though I do like how half the costumes aren't overly revealing black leather in the new ultimate universe
If we will judge the new one based in so few editions, you must judge the old one by his first editions too. Compare only the errors of the oldest with so few material of the new, is simply injustice. For example, the new spider-man doesn't even questioning the goblin about the ilegal imprisionment of the Shocker, and this is a little bizarre in my opinion.
Marvel keeps trying to pander to a audience I don't think they will, Manga Reader or Anime Fans, Now they're set in Japan but unlike the original big hero, This feels more like a ANIME. rather than americanized manga, I am having so much fan, I know the art and the story direction will change either way when we get to the American side of things, But I am so fcking satisfied with this one, Grats to marvel team for actual hiring Japanese Artist, The original gwenpool run was my thing too
The ultimate universe is a product of its time and ultimately (no pun intended) became what it was trying to avoid by having its own continuity be a problem. I’m sure this universe will eventually get there. Also I’m tired of the Maker.
I blame Ultimatum Trash event, after that everything went downhill...well ,spidey kept cool. Oh, Ultimates Vol 1and 2 were kinda solid, but everything after was abominable.
I know Ultimate X-Men they are letting Peach do whatever she wants. So it's her own thing. I think it's pretty cool! I've read the first three issues!!!
Spider-Man is allowed to grow in this and be a family man like Guile wanted. Plus he is not be cucked by Paul. The moments with his family really hit the feels. His daughter helping him pick out the suit colors and how MJ says he’s Spider-Man.
It's probably due to the release schedule but this new Ultimate Universe seems to be starting very slowly. Read the old Ultimate comics, besides Spider-man, they all start out with a bang and don't slow down until the end of the first volumes.
It's refreshingly different and honestly I'm hopeful. But I never will not think Ultimate Spider-Man is the best modern take on the character ever, up there with TAS. Especially the first 80 issues, but the universe as a whole could definitely be better.
The new Ultimate universe even has me reading Black Panther. I never really cared about the struggles of a king who has to punch his problems, I just didn't find T'challa compelling. The movie was great, but the Black Panther comics never grabbed me. In a universe without Xavier, though, Storm never left Africa, so she's wrapped up in Black Panther's plot, and I am here for it. I'm even actually liking the story around T'challa, so far. I say "so far", I'm three months behind, reading digital issues on Unlimited.
I'm still skeptical about this whole thing. IMHO, Hickman isn't known for well made long-continuing projects. Sure he can create interest at the begining with his concepts and new character perspectives, but at the end his ideas either got scrapped or abandoned all together for abrupt finale. That allready was the case with his Secret Wars and Krakoan Era - both amazing projects of their times that unfortunately had many problems and got butchered in their second halfs. So I really doubt this new iteration would last any longer than the predecessor. Also I'm not sure what the point for the new Ultimate Universe to begin with. Like the original imprint was created out of idea to modernize characters and give new timeline for them as an attempt to distant them from 40 years continuity legacy. This one feels more like one giant prelude for some upcoming crossover event about the Maker return with not much plans for the Earth-6160 future after that, at least to me right now...
Currently no but if Hickman and the other writers can tell one long form cohesive story that may include all or most of the titles created similar to his runs from FF - Secret Wars then it could be great however it should not be looked at as a new long term line of comics as they inevitably fail with the exception of usually 1 title per that line e.g. 2099 failed - Spider-Man 2099 was the success, MC2 failed - Spider-Girl was the success, 1610 failed - Ultimate Spider-Man was the success….hmm I’m seeing a trend here where the Spider related book was not only the first book published in each line but was the most successful but surely 6160 won’t follow the same trend…oh wait…
I actually finished reading ultimate X-men yesterday I think it’s intriguing and interesting there was just a lot of nothing and everything at the same time I still really enjoyed it tho
I’m very excited to see the Ultimate version of Wasp in this universe. I’m a big Janet fan and I hope we get a fantastic interpretation of the character. I also can’t wait to see the Ultimate Fantastic Four especially Ben. Also we did see Ultimate Matt in the first issue of Ultimate Spider-Man but I hope we see more of him.
I love the original ultimate universe I'm a sucker for teenage Peter Parker but this new universe is gonna be something big I'm already enjoying it to me it's like a ultimate universe what if stories
Let’s see. I remember the old ultimate universe also started very well! Specially Spider-Man!!! I think it’s too early to say… but!!!! I think it will be better cuz they learned from those mistakes… everything feels so well thought out and planned out… it seems really concerned with telling the best stories at the core of the what makes these characters special
The past ultimate only gave us two good things, and those two people are Miles Morales and The maker. If anyone thinks the ultimate story or other characters in that past run was better, their trying to be different
You clearly haven't read the original Ultimate comics because they inspired everything Marvel has done since 2000, including movies, animation, live action TV and even mainline comics.
The potential that this new ultimate universe has is astronomical. I know a lot of people are iffy with it and I know a lot of people didn't like the original ultimate universe. I think overall this new ultimate universe will pass the original, overtime. The only thing that is going to be near impossible to surpass, is the original Ultimate Spider-man. There's no denying that, that series is not only one of the greatest Spider-man runs of all time; but debatably one of the greatest comic runs of all time. This new series so far tho, is really good and only time will tell.
I think in the new Ultimate Universe the Xmen isnt mutation but s mystical kind of power that some people get it I love it is so wierd so much want to know like the first time you ear about Xmen
I think this ultimate universe is definitely better than the original. Ultimate Spider-Man is my favorite comic book series of the decade and is just phenomanal. The fan service is great and the writing and art are so good! Ultimate Black Panther is super good too. It really is what modern 616 Black panther comics should be. And Ultimate X-Men is intresting. I hope we get other characters down the line. Ultimates looks pretty epic. The of wasn't perfect but this one is so far.
The old ultimate universe had some great books like ultimate spider-man and ultimate x-men and some hidden gems like ultimate fantastic four but overall the new ultimate universe has proven to be better than the original
They need to keep miles away for a little while if they do bring him into this universe make him a villain or something this needs to be a Peter Parker solo story
I’m sorry but the idea that UBP doesn’t have “modern politics” is honestly kinda laughable. The whole Ultimate universe so far is the most political thing marvel has put out in years.
Aside from Reed Richard (who became Dr. Doom), all the other members are apparently dead, so unless we change the team members, it's very unlikely that this will ever happen.
It's not even been a year. The longest series so far (Spider-Man) has four issues. Even if you're just judging "potential" it makes no sense to make a video this early.
The original ultimate universe comics was just a bunch of angsty edgelord fanfiction. It was dark and edgy just for the sake of it and not because it fit the story or narrative they killed off important characters unceremoniously. And for no reason so many major characters died in Ultimatum Wolverine, Angel, Professor X and Even Magneto.
I wasn't interested in the new Ultimate Universe because of how bad the old UU was. I wish they had called it a different name. The new UU is so great. I only planned to try UU Spider-Man. But so far, ive bought all the Spider-Man, Black Panther, X-men, and the Ultimates issues.
Too early to say. There are some interesting new ideas in this ultimate universe, but nothing I've read so far is as good as Ultimates 1 and 2. Even if those stories had a lot of annoying Mark Millarisms.
the glazing of this new ultimate universe is crazy its only 5 issues in for each series, it makes me wonder if any of you guys actually ready the ultimate u or just complain about its worst moments, Ultimate fantastic four was amazing and gave us the Maker, the Ultimates 1 was very good so was Ultimate X-men or a while and Ultimate Spider-man quite litterally inspired so manty adaptations aswell as being a great spider-man run. so much of the Ultimate U inspired the MCU
As far as spider man and x men go it is very different from the other versions. Peter is middle aged and x men is starting off in Japan it seems like, possibly without professor x. It kind of feels like runaways meets x men. Black Panther and Storm are freedom fighters. I’ve only read the first issue of that one though. It’s definitely different, but intriguing.

This video is so funny cause the universe JUST started 💀
he’s not being brutal to it though so its alright. the story of the universe is only beginning and he seems to keep that door open in this video.
So far, yes. But the OG Ultimate universe was looking good at the start, and then it took a HARD nose dive. So let's give it some time before we decide on which is better ... though I do like how half the costumes aren't overly revealing black leather in the new ultimate universe
You unlocked a memory deep in my brain, thanks and fak you
If we will judge the new one based in so few editions, you must judge the old one by his first editions too. Compare only the errors of the oldest with so few material of the new, is simply injustice. For example, the new spider-man doesn't even questioning the goblin about the ilegal imprisionment of the Shocker, and this is a little bizarre in my opinion.
Yeah I’m so hyped for the ultimates on June, can’t wait
The new ultimate spiderman and black panther look amazing
The new ultimate spiderman is so good everyone should read it
I really liked Ultimate spider-man, but I haven't heard of the other ones as I am not too into comic books. I'ma go check it out now
Marvel keeps trying to pander to a audience I don't think they will, Manga Reader or Anime Fans, Now they're set in Japan but unlike the original big hero, This feels more like a ANIME. rather than americanized manga, I am having so much fan, I know the art and the story direction will change either way when we get to the American side of things, But I am so fcking satisfied with this one, Grats to marvel team for actual hiring Japanese Artist,
The original gwenpool run was my thing too
The ultimate universe is a product of its time and ultimately (no pun intended) became what it was trying to avoid by having its own continuity be a problem. I’m sure this universe will eventually get there. Also I’m tired of the Maker.
I blame Ultimatum
Trash event, after that everything went downhill...well ,spidey kept cool.
0:00 yes
I need Nova and punisher to get the Ultimate treatment
0:12 why spider-mans toe out😂idk if it is we will have to give it a little longer
I want to start reading the new Ultimates and Black Panther, but I will say that I'm loving Ultimate Spiderman so far
Well it’s definitely better than the 616 Universe
I second that.
Probably just recent 616 Spider-Man, not the whole 616 as a whole. You gotta read older Spider-Man which this universe pulls from
@@kenmun2168 Nah, I never liked anything from 616
@@seankingultimatespideyfan8427 to each their own ig but 616 Spider-Man has amazing stories
It's now the question of what now beside Spiderman.
UBP and USM are both good books. UXM should have been called UArmor, because that's really what it is so far. It's not X-men.
2 issues into Ultimate X-Men and we still haven't seen a single X-Man besides Armor and she's not even on the team.
@@BaithNa I don't think the X-Man team exist in the Universe yet
Damn, these sound really interesting, I might actually have to pick some of these up
I'm still skeptical about this whole thing.
Yes, definetly.
2099 failed - Spider-Man 2099 was the success, MC2 failed - Spider-Girl was the success, 1610 failed - Ultimate Spider-Man was the success….hmm I’m seeing a trend here where the Spider related book was not only the first book published in each line but was the most successful but surely 6160 won’t follow the same trend…oh wait…
um akshually 👆🤓the new ultimate universe started with ultimate invasion and the first official new branding for it was in ultimate universe #1 🤓🤓🤓
All of the Fantastic Four, except for Reed, are dead. I'm really excited for this universe's Victor von Doom tho!
"I don't really watch anime" lists some top 3 beginner anime bangers
Big fan of the Deadpool comics, I hope they do great things with him in this universe. If they do, I might no life all of the comics.
I love it when modern interpretations can work
Anyone know how long before they release these in hardcovers? Does marvel do these still? Like the early 2000’s Ultimate Spider-man?
If Jonathan Hickman is behind the new ultimate comics run then it is going to be good.
"Is CHOCOLATE cake BETTER than shit covered cake?"
Will Tony Stark be calling him self Silver Centurion instead of Iron Lad because Tony needs to grow up and his dad called himself Iron man.
I think it is much better. Great new universe.
So, is this a complete reboot of the original Ultimate universe, or is it a continuation?
It's an entirely new universe (6160) but [spoilers] it's influenced by the maker (original ultimate reed
@@keit99 got it. Thanks!
My hope for the ultimate avengers lineup is cap iron man hulk Thor wasp and ant man
I love the original ultimate universe I'm a sucker for teenage Peter Parker but this new universe is gonna be something big I'm already enjoying it to me it's like a ultimate universe what if stories
It's at least keeping a single Spider-Man in the universe so far, so yes! Miles should have stayed in 1610 as its sole Spider-Man.
Maybe that’s true about the xmen thing being wierd. I wanted to see old ones and hopefully a good hearted Beast again
@@BaithNa oh I have and it was shit, keep in mind the movies took inspiration from both books.
The OG ultimate Spider-Man was goated, idk what your on
@@Invo_ mmmmm no if anything he went through a lot of bs, and didn't he cheated on his gf?
The potential that this new ultimate universe has is astronomical. I know a lot of people are iffy with it and I know a lot of people didn't like the original ultimate universe. I think overall this new ultimate universe will pass the original, overtime. The only thing that is going to be near impossible to surpass, is the original Ultimate Spider-man. There's no denying that, that series is not only one of the greatest Spider-man runs of all time; but debatably one of the greatest comic runs of all time. This new series so far tho, is really good and only time will tell.
i love ultimate Spiderman its really awesome.
I think in the new Ultimate Universe the Xmen isnt mutation but s mystical kind of power that some people get it I love it is so wierd so much want to know like the first time you ear about Xmen
The 1st arc of each series isn't even wrapped up. Let's give it some time before comparing
The scheme is like the Ultimate X-men is half magic/mutant.
Is the Xmen girl's ability just a Susanoo 😭
I think this ultimate universe is definitely better than the original. Ultimate Spider-Man is my favorite comic book series of the decade and is just phenomanal. The fan service is great and the writing and art are so good! Ultimate Black Panther is super good too. It really is what modern 616 Black panther comics should be. And Ultimate X-Men is intresting. I hope we get other characters down the line. Ultimates looks pretty epic. The of wasn't perfect but this one is so far.
It just started there's barely any books tf
I like these issues I got carried away.
The old ultimate universe had some great books like ultimate spider-man and ultimate x-men and some hidden gems like ultimate fantastic four but overall the new ultimate universe has proven to be better than the original
Hmmmmm not ready to say that yet
Lol I love how they forgot that Jimmy Hudson exists
They need to keep miles away for a little while if they do bring him into this universe make him a villain or something this needs to be a Peter Parker solo story
I’m sorry but the idea that UBP doesn’t have “modern politics” is honestly kinda laughable. The whole Ultimate universe so far is the most political thing marvel has put out in years.
Really hope we get an ultimate fantastic 4 thats more focused on futuristic scfi but in the style of the 60s
Aside from Reed Richard (who became Dr. Doom), all the other members are apparently dead, so unless we change the team members, it's very unlikely that this will ever happen.
These comics look good.
Yes.
ok im caught up and so far i gotta say
nah, no way.
but i do like what they're doing so far
It's not even been a year. The longest series so far (Spider-Man) has four issues. Even if you're just judging "potential" it makes no sense to make a video this early.
The original ultimate universe comics was just a bunch of angsty edgelord fanfiction. It was dark and edgy just for the sake of it and not because it fit the story or narrative they killed off important characters unceremoniously. And for no reason so many major characters died in Ultimatum Wolverine, Angel, Professor X and Even Magneto.
Is that peach momo doing X men 😍😍😍
Yes it is
ultimate spider man og was peak 😡
I wasn't interested in the new Ultimate Universe because of how bad the old UU was.
I wish they had called it a different name.
The new UU is so great. I only planned to try UU Spider-Man. But so far, ive bought all the Spider-Man, Black Panther, X-men, and the Ultimates issues.
yes
i will wait untill they are in collection books
The first universe is better then ever. I love my generation of ultimate universe 2000.
I hope we get a ultimate universe but all who die and a death the maker work with dr doom as bros
Too early to say. There are some interesting new ideas in this ultimate universe, but nothing I've read so far is as good as Ultimates 1 and 2. Even if those stories had a lot of annoying Mark Millarisms.
the glazing of this new ultimate universe is crazy its only 5 issues in for each series,
it makes me wonder if any of you guys actually ready the ultimate u or just complain about its worst moments, Ultimate fantastic four was amazing and gave us the Maker, the Ultimates 1 was very good so was Ultimate X-men or a while and Ultimate Spider-man quite litterally inspired so manty adaptations aswell as being a great spider-man run. so much of the Ultimate U inspired the MCU
more likely they didnt. its a bunch of parrots that never even read it.
Ultimate X-men is so Bizarre
Im just so burnt out, behind, and genuinely uninterested in yet ankther recolor of all my heroes with slightly different stories
Recolor?
Bro this is how comics work. How they’ve always worked. New issues, new releases, new stories that repeat the same beats as before. Grow up
Read some indie comics, or read Ultimate X-Men, since as said, it has no ties to X-Men so far
