Despite the "review" it's actually a fun game. It's not something you're supposed to play hardcore. It's something you log into, get a few levels, do some pvp, run a dungeon and log off. Just my thoughts tho

Hey peon, you know what I would actually like to see. I dont know if u did this type video already, but can you do a general review on Wow as a whole and compare it to other MMO's you played so far? :)
+Davis Productions As I see it, pretty much every game Peon has tried has inherently been a comparison to WoW in one regard or another. Besides, everyone (generalising of course) is waiting for Legion at this point, I have personally unsubbed and uninstalled wow.

The last expac did it for me, but it was more than forced into pvp zones, bait and switch on what they were doing, and the flying thing...the tweets between the devs that came out absolutely pissed me off, they had the most snarky hateful things to say about all players, but without those players, they wouldn't have a job. That attitude totally turned me off and convinced me they are no better than the scamming freebie games. It was hard for me, I had played since burning crusade and loved it til then. Screw blizzard, and I am hoping someday someone does come up with the next big game that puts them out of business, they deserve it for being such snobbish arrogant jerks. but eh, that's me lol millions still playing, not sure what the numbers are now, but I know they've lost a lot of players.

Graphic are not everything. I do play plenty of games from the 90's. BUT, this game not only has horrible graphic, is has 10 fps, and awful animations. It's extremely immersion breaking, and that is along other garbage things about it.

Dominator Dualshock I can't speak for TheLazyPeon but I'm going to assume the mistake he made was that he thought you HAD to do questing to level like in other MMOs. Almost every task you do will grant you some experience. When I was levelling probably a quarter of my entire experience towards the level cap came from crafting. Also, the quests LazyPeon was doing (Renown Hearts i believe) can be tackled in multiple ways. There are several different objectives that will fill the progress bar and many quests can be completed without any combat if you wish. Aside from Renown Hearts you also have Hero Challenges, Dynamic Events, The Personal Story for your character, crafting, Exploring the map and jumping puzzles to earn experience. Lastly, the levelling is very quick compared to other MMOs. The time it takes to reach the next level only keeps raising until about level 20, after which gaining another level should only take about two hours (If you are efficient at levelling at least) all the way to the level cap of 80. And the level cap is not being raised in the expansion, or any future expansions if I am correct. Honestly, as someone who also hates grindy levelling, Guild Wars 2 is the most fun levelling experience I've had.

Peon, I don't know if this one would count for the "Is (insert MMO) Worth Playing?" series, but if it does, then I would recommend Vanilla WoW, because several people, myself included, count it as a whole different game from current WoW at the moment. I know you already did a Vanilla video on Nostalrius at one point, but I want to see more from you on it :D
I hear you on the sexualization of female characters. I find it kind of disappointing when they do it for the female characters, but not for the male. I'd prefer either they do it to both or neither. But even then, I find myself avoiding games that do it at all, just makes it harder to take the game world seriously. That, and usually the asian-style characters and animations of games like FFRR, Tera, and Black Desert put me off. I tend to go for stylized, stylized realistic, or plain realistic art styles. (examples: WoW, Wildstar, ESO, Star Citizen). lmao that's a big tldr saying I usually can't play games with oversexualization and asian art styles.
Thom Alting Being buff isn't always sexy. Especially when you cover it all up in thick metal armor when meanwhile every woman is wearing a chainmail bikini. It's about the presentation, not the appearance.
+PurpleDerpy true, I'd wish more MMO's would take the character creation route of GW2(probably others 2, haven't really played ESO, only did some stuff during the beta). giving you the option to make a character like you want. you want a bulky guy? done. You want a fat guy? done. same for females.
If you put it on a higher resolution the quality is ten times better, he probably didn't have it on the highest it can go. As someone who plays the game, it isn't bad. Generic? Very! But the gameplay is nice, as well as dungeons and things of that nature. It's really not as bad as he makes it out to be.

The change to the pro/con really changed the feel of the series. The feel went from just you playing a game to you deciding whether or not people should play it. Considering this is a first impressions series, I'd say that's a plus!
i really love the fact that the city you have "saved" looks different after that!!! E. g. in Aion,....you had to fix some fountains which made the land fertile again....they started to "run" in a short video,...but after that everything was "dry" again...that was frustrating xD
some of your criticisms are very idiotic , for example when leveling seems too quick , it usually means that there's a lot of levels to get through or that the end levels require a huge amount of experience to get to , the game might not even focus on the whole leveling system , and also you were generally very cynical and negative about the whole thing, the game just started and you started laughing at the characters , "anime" you said do you even know what anime is , this game is fantasy not " anime' and last but not least maybe you need a better computer to get a better frame rate don't blame it on the game.
+Othmane Najim He had a decent PC back when he played this game and a graphical desaster that is this game should not run at 20~40 FPS with his setup. a PC from 2008 should play this game without any hicups at 60FPS or more. You clearly dont know how optimazation works especially in a heavily instanced game like this.

He's running a fairly high end system. gtx 970, i7 4790k. If you watched any of peons videos, you know they are opinions, not reviews, many of us share similar opinions with peon on what we like in a game and what we don't. So yes, you are right, a lot of us won't try this out becuse frankly, it looks pretty trashy in my standards. I'm not gonna go play WoW either, though I believe its much more fun than this, its still not that fun.

I came to LvLcap and as a archer. My honest toughts about EOS: I know the Quests were all the same on every LvL, but the solo- and groupdungeons were really funny and kept me playing more. I think the graphics are better now and if you are interested in solo- and groupdungeons, raids and all this stuff you should try this out :)

Hi +TheLazyPeon ive played this game for 1 week + now just to try it, i swear you were totally right about it being sooo repetitive and believe me, the questing gets worse when it starts telling you to kill 12 mobs of this and collect 10 of that, which is tiring and boring, but... after hitting level 60 and maxing my assassin the game took a small turn and became just a tad slightlier fun, the dungeons and raids, aswell as the pvp at level cap is just like any other MMO too, in other words, this game truly sucks to get to level 60, newcomers will hate it straight away, but its pretty alright when u get to cap and have fun raids and pvp
You're using guardian class, try her other class tho which can be a tanker with earth element or dps with lightning element... and also if youre boring with the quest, its a common i also feel bored but you can do leveling via pvp and it gives a lot of exp, and the pvp also is extremely fair tbh, just dont get caught by high level enemies
I don't know if it was the same in other countries, but here in france, by the time the game came out, a lot of "quite big" youtubers were making videos about it but no one even heard of that game before, it really felt like a disguised marketing campaign. I think, based on this and your video that it's designed to be a fast-food kind of game. They want you to know that the game exists and they want you to download it, play it a few minutes, level up quickly, maybe buy a thing or two in the shop (hence the quest) and then leave.
Fun begins after level 60(Max) mate. that's why it offers faster leveling. Dungeons and raids are challenging. you just played few levels of this game and you evaluate it? that's not the way of doing "is it worth playing" is it? ^_^ i'm playing this game for months now. i still love it.
My theory: As you can see the frame rate is low even at a good computer. It means that the developers were bad at optymalisation. It explains the "Why is everything instanced?" question- it was the simplest way to make the game more optymalised. It's bad they doesn't optymalised the game in... a way that other games with good graphics are optymalised today. (Sometimes I'm wondering how it's done)
The cash shop quest can be abandoned/skipped. I did none of the cash shop quests and progressed fine. You don't even need to do quests. Most people coming in now level up through pvp unless they actually enjoy questing. End game is when it gets crazy. It's still the main game I play...but have been scouting around for something "similar" yet better. Totally agree with you about the skimpy outfits lol. You should see the bikinis the guardians wear. XD
The lazy peon can you please try War Hammer Age of Reckoning Private server pretty please. I know it might be old and it's a private server but it's my favorite MMO and I loved it so much, it would make my day if you played it
Please try LOTRO. It is old, yet beatiful game. It is little too heavy on its cashshop, but you can get all the cashshop currency you need through play if you are patient enough. But it is recomended to buy first month to get VIP status, it unlocks all the things and most unlocks stay unlocked after the month passes. If you give it a try, don't forget to try housing and music systems, they are available at relatively low level. Also read quest text, at least the main story line. And make elf or dwarf character, they have better starting area in my opinion. Thanks.

Hey Peon, you should check out The Secret World. I don't know if you will like it, but it's a different experience from any other MMO out there, so you will at least not be as bored as with Echo of Soul lol
Do you really feel that graphics absolutely make the game though? True, 2015 release mmo's could be better graphics wise than this, but as any mmorpg fan knows; fluidity is more important than graphics. We still praise WoW for seamless, beautiful fluidity and gameplay but (and understandable for it's release date) the graphics aren't able to compete with any of the newer mmorpg's on the market now. Yet WoW still reigns... I suppose to each their own, but if the graphics don't entirely hit the mark, I am never concerned. If it plays smoothly then I'm happier. P.S. I dunno if you ever played Warhammer Online before. The game has since been closed down, but a private server has been put up somewhat recently for the players who still enjoyed it and it's going pretty well. I'd like to see you play it again or for the first time. It's free! return of reckoning is the name. I've tried it for the past week and I'm curious your thoughts on it?

not really since i lost my account when game was going to become free2play.... tho i could've become max lvl after that i only got back and leveled up times and times again constantly making new characters only to get to like lvl 50 then start from beggining
that's not the problem back then i was kid with lots of free time... now i just don't have that much time to play and i would rather play other mmos that have bigger playerbase and games that my friends are playing (previously i always played aion solo) also, i'm kinda more interested in singleplayers these days

Graphic are not everything. I do play plenty of games from the 90's. BUT, this game not only has horrible graphic, is has 10 fps, and awful animations. It's extremely immersion breaking, and that is along other garbage things about it.

I can't speak for TheLazyPeon but I'm going to assume the mistake he made was that he thought you HAD to do questing to level like in other MMOs. Almost every task you do will grant you some experience. When I was levelling probably a quarter of my entire experience towards the level cap came from crafting. Also, the quests LazyPeon was doing (Renown Hearts i believe) can be tackled in multiple ways. There are several different objectives that will fill the progress bar and many quests can be completed without any combat if you wish. Aside from Renown Hearts you also have Hero Challenges, Dynamic Events, The Personal Story for your character, crafting, Exploring the map and jumping puzzles to earn experience.
Lastly, the levelling is very quick compared to other MMOs. The time it takes to reach the next level only keeps raising until about level 20, after which gaining another level should only take about two hours (If you are efficient at levelling at least) all the way to the level cap of 80. And the level cap is not being raised in the expansion, or any future expansions if I am correct.
Honestly, as someone who also hates grindy levelling, Guild Wars 2 is the most fun levelling experience I've had.

Peon, I don't know if this one would count for the "Is (insert MMO) Worth Playing?" series, but if it does, then I would recommend Vanilla WoW, because several people, myself included, count it as a whole different game from current WoW at the moment. I hear you on the sexualization of female characters. I find it kind of disappointing when they do it for the female characters, but not for the male. I'd prefer either they do it to both or neither. But even then, I find myself avoiding games that do it at all, just makes it harder to take the game world seriously. That, and usually the asian-style characters and animations of games like FFRR, Tera, and Black Desert put me off. I tend to go for stylized, stylized realistic, or plain realistic art styles. (examples: WoW, Wildstar, ESO, Star Citizen). lmao that's a big tldr saying I usually can't play games with oversexualization and asian art styles.

If you put it on a higher resolution the quality is ten times better, he probably didn't have it on the highest it can go. As someone who plays the game, it isn't bad. Generic? Very! But the gameplay is nice, as well as dungeons and things of that nature. It's really not as bad as he makes it out to be.

The change to the pro/con really changed the feel of the series. The feel went from just you playing a game to you deciding whether or not people should play it. Considering this is a first impressions series, I'd say that's a plus!

some of your criticisms are very idiotic , for example when leveling seems too quick , it usually means that there's a lot of levels to get through or that the end levels require a huge amount of experience to get to , the game might not even focus on the whole leveling system , and also you were generally very cynical and negative about the whole thing, the game just started and you started laughing at the characters , "anime" you said do you even know what anime is , this game is fantasy not " anime' and last but not least maybe you need a better computer to get a better frame rate don't blame it on the game.

If you watched any of peons videos, you know they are opinions, not reviews, many of us share similar opinions with peon on what we like in a game and what we don't. So yes, you are right, a lot of us won't try this out becuse frankly, it looks pretty trashy in my standards. I'm not gonna go play WoW either, though I believe its much more fun than this, its still not that fun.

I came to LvLcap and as a archer. My honest toughts about EOS: I know the Quests were all the same on every LvL, but the solo- and groupdungeons were really funny and kept me playing more. I think the graphics are better now and if you are interested in solo- and groupdungeons, raids and all this stuff you should try this out :)

Hi +TheLazyPeon ive played this game for 1 week + now just to try it, i swear you were totally right about it being sooo repetitive and believe me, the questing gets worse when it starts telling you to kill 12 mobs of this and collect 10 of that, which is tiring and boring, but... after hitting level 60 and maxing my assassin the game took a small turn and became just a tad slightlier fun, the dungeons and raids, aswell as the pvp at level cap is just like any other MMO too, in other words, this game truly sucks to get to level 60, newcomers will hate it straight away, but its pretty alright when u get to cap and have fun raids and pvp

You're using guardian class, try her other class tho which can be a tanker with earth element or dps with lightning element... and also if youre boring with the quest, its a common i also feel bored but you can do leveling via pvp and it gives a lot of exp, and the pvp also is extremely fair tbh, just dont get caught by high level enemies

I don't know if it was the same in other countries, but here in france, by the time the game came out, a lot of "quite big" youtubers were making videos about it but no one even heard of that game before, it really felt like a disguised marketing campaign. I think, based on this and your video that it's designed to be a fast-food kind of game. They want you to know that the game exists and they want you to download it, play it a few minutes, level up quickly, maybe buy a thing or two in the shop (hence the quest) and then leave.

My theory: As you can see the frame rate is low even at a good computer. It means that the developers were bad at optymalisation. It explains the "Why is everything instanced?" question- it was the simplest way to make the game more optymalised. It's bad they doesn't optymalised the game in... a way that other games with good graphics are optymalised today. (Sometimes I'm wondering how it's done)
One thing I'll admit with these JRPG games is that I do enjoy their mount visuals, compared to WoW which are bleh...unless you spend that $25 crap

The cash shop quest can be abandoned/skipped. I did none of the cash shop quests and progressed fine. You don't even need to do quests. Most people coming in now level up through pvp unless they actually enjoy questing.
End game is when it gets crazy. It's still the main game I play...but have been scouting around for something "similar" yet better. Totally agree with you about the skimpy outfits lol. You should see the bikinis the guardians wear. XD

The lazy peon can you please try War Hammer Age of Reckoning Private server pretty please. I know it might be old and it's a private server but it's my favorite MMO and I loved it so much, it would make my day if you played it
Please try LOTRO. It is old, yet beatiful game.
It is little too heavy on its cashshop, but you can get all the cashshop currency you need through play if you are patient enough. But it is recomended to buy first month to get VIP status, it unlocks all the things and most unlocks stay unlocked after the month passes.
If you give it a try, don't forget to try housing and music systems, they are available at relatively low level. Also read quest text, at least the main story line. And make elf or dwarf character, they have better starting area in my opinion. Thanks.

To be honest, one of the main reasons I play these free to play MMORPG even if they are shit is one I'm broke and two I love making characters in these games. It's just fun for me to make cool looking characters.

Do you really feel that graphics absolutely make the game though? True, 2015 release mmo's could be better graphics wise than this, but as any mmorpg fan knows; fluidity is more important than graphics. We still praise WoW for seamless, beautiful fluidity and gameplay but (and understandable for it's release date) the graphics aren't able to compete with any of the newer mmorpg's on the market now. Yet WoW still reigns... I suppose to each their own, but if the graphics don't entirely hit the mark, I am never concerned. If it plays smoothly then I'm happier.
P.S. I dunno if you ever played Warhammer Online before. The game has since been closed down, but a private server has been put up somewhat recently for the players who still enjoyed it and it's going pretty well. I'd like to see you play it again or for the first time. It's free! return of reckoning is the name. I've tried it for the past week and I'm curious your thoughts on it?

after that i only got back and leveled up times and times again constantly making new characters only to get to like lvl 50 then start from beggining
