hey, just a small note from a brazillian. Sepultura, in this album, tried to convey landmarks of brazillian popular culture into metal. Brazillian culture is compose by multiple origins: the richest origins are african and indigenous. Funny thing is a lot of us brazillians are unfamiliar, or even reject, this origins of our country culture. Instead of celebrated it, we consume the same old crap that big cultural industries feed us. Sepultura merge this origins into their song, which make them so unique.
just for reference, brazil was the last country to abolish slavery. Also, in Minas Gerais, the state in which sepultura was formed, there was a lot of gold. So, in 1600-1800, lot of slaves where used to extract gold which was taken to europe. See Roots Bloody Roots videoclip: lots of christian image with white angels and saints and jesus, all made while millions of blacks where slaves. Sepultura wants us to remember this
This songs makes me - no matter if understand a single word or reference- just jump around, although I am at the fathers age 🤣 and I wanna jump around till I am 80 😜🤘
I am Brazilian and I just listened to this gem for the first time last week. I feel so sorry for you guys, because you cannot understand all the references they put there to fully appreciate this gem. Actually, this is kinda of a meme song. You would be laughing your heads off if you could get the references in portuguese. Brazil doesn't look like that , by the way. Bring more sepultura. Refuse/Resist and Desperate Cry next!
@@THENOBODIESREACTS I will also leave another suggestion, this a rendition of a real viking song, from like 1000 years ago.
Anyways, nice video! :)
