Oh my goodness, I cried with you Tim. Amazing Grace gets me every time. I laid in a hospital bed for just over two years, I was literally dying from Cancer when this person came into my room and played the guitar and sang a few songs to me… I was left in such peace. One of the songs I wanted played at my funeral of which my husband and I had been arranging. The person left my room and I wanted to know the name of the song, I asked the nurses, their responses were that no one was there playing a guitar…. Yet I saw and heard music as though it was straight from Heaven. It strengthened me, it became one of my Pocket Full of Miracles from The Lord. On my death bed, I lived! Today, I live life abundantly. Praise and Glory to Jesus! I loved this Video Tim, I love your heart.
Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton. I heard this on the radio after loosing my father. I could barely drive for cying. I was pregnant with my 4th son at the time. We buried Dad 5 days before my son was born. That was 32 years ago. Still brings me to tears.
I lost my husband 9 months ago, he was the most patient , kind man and had the bluest eyes. He was a cryer, he loved listening to worship music, and cried. I loved his tenderness. He cried in church services, at our wedding…he loved to think of his beloved Lord, he felt so close to. Blue eyes full of tears, joy as well at pain, at the loss of our first son and when he looked at me his eyes were the bluest, and when he was sad they turned gray. Oh how this video today touched me, I am crying. When we dated he always played Crystal Gayle,s “ don’t make my brown eyes blue“, I have brown eyes. It touches me deeply when I listen to “ give me Jesus“ by Fernando Ortega… there are more like this, when I sing “ be thou my vision“ an old hymn that I kept singing in a very difficult time knowing that if God wasn’t my vision I would not make it….i know Blue-Eyes is with his beloved Lord and here I sit finding that my brown eyes are blue….
My mother’s favorite color was red, so for her funeral in 2006 my whole family wore red, even the funeral director wore a red tie, which he had never done before. Her viewing hours were 12-9, we all stayed throughout the day. Softly playing in the background the director had the instrumental version of Lady in Red, and just thinking about it tears are streaming down my cheeks, Thursday 2/22 will mark 18 years, we call it Grammy Day. ❤
YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE is my everytime song even when I sang it to my baby daughter. I especially cry now that she has died, 12/2022 at age 42. Thanks for your sharing.
Your comment brought tears to my eyes. I sang that song to my daughter all the time too. She was born in 1980 and will be 44 this October. I can’t imagine your pain and I’m so sorry for your loss 😞
Seasons In The Sun - it’s an old song from the 70’s from when I was a kid. It makes me cry every time, especially now that I’m getting older and so many loved ones and friends have passed
I was at a relative's funeral. His son played the music. When they took the casket out of church, Bill sang Roy Rogers song - Happy Trails. Everyone was in tears. My mother was an organist in church for 50 years so I'm familiar with every sad song there is. Thank you for this video, bringing back memories for everyone.
This video moved me so deeply, I really have no words to explain. I’d just like to say Thank you for sharing today - you really have a lot of insight and I think we were all blessed the day you decided to start this channel.
Thank you for sharing, Tim. 🧡 As I wipe my tears after watching your heartfelt video, I am reminded of the dozens of songs that have also made me feel so very emotional for various reasons: “Hallelujah” written by Leonard Cohen, sung by Jeff Buckley. (Pentatonix sings a lovely version, as well.) “A Song for You” written by Leon Russell , sung by Donny Hathaway. “Same Old (Auld) Lang Syne” written and sung by Dan Folgelberg. “True Companion” written and sung by Marc Cohn. “The Only Child” written and sung by Jackson Browne. “The Goodness of God” written by Ben Fielding, sung beautifully by the wonderful CeCe Winans. I can think of so many others, because I really adore music of all genres, and l cannot imagine life without it (or books.) ☮️🧡🎶📚
Tim, you are a rare and precious man and your honesty and vunerability are priceless! I cried through your video because Bring Him Home and I Can Only Imagine demand tears for me. Thirty years ago my son died at the age of 21 and I called out to God for days and begged exactly what Bring Him Home says. And I Can Only Imagine is so deep in my heart and soul.... I too am an easy crier (I still tear up when ET points his finger to the sky and says "phone home", that's how bad I am....LOL). My family was much like yours....all musical and always involved in church, weddings and funerals. This was an emotional video to watch but THANK YOU! God bless you.
I am redeemed.....by Big Daddy Weave. Its POWERFUL . We always play it for the inmates in our jail ministry. Verse 1] Seems like all I could see was the struggle Haunted by ghosts that lived in my past Bound up in shackles of all my failures Wondering how long is this gonna last Then you look at this prisoner and say to me "Son, stop fighting a fight, its already been won" [Chorus] I am redeemed, You set me free So I'll shake off these heavy chains Wipe away every stain That I'm not who I used to be I am redeemed, I'm redeemed
When I hear Daniel by Elton John I tear up. My nephew Daniel ran across busy main street in Peoria trying to meet up with his older brother and got hit and killed. I remember taking them both to the Heart of Illinois fair and they said ... Uncle Mark no one has ever done this for us.
The Lord placed a song directly into my hands about two weeks after our first baby was born. She was stillborn at 40 weeks and we were devastated. The sang is called “Glory Baby” by Watermark. This song helped to heal my heart and I went on to sing it in church and at a few baby memorials over the years. It never fails to bring tears to my eyes but I’m so thankful for the day I found it. God knew I needed it to help heal my heart.
Thought of another comment. After John Denver died, too young and suddenly, I avoided any of his music for a long time. He was my older sister’s age. He had lived in Texas, as I did. LOVED his music and still do but for a long time it was just “too soon”. Carole
As a preachers kid, and now a preachers wife, these songs also hit me! One that gets me in a special way is an old one, “Thank you for giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed”. Being in cross cultural missions for 40 yrs, I can see precious faces that can sing that song all because someone was sent to share.😊
Well this video has me in tears. My song is Be Thou My Vision. It was my Mom's favorite hymn. She passed fifteen years ago. I cry in church every time we sing it ❤️
Amazing Grace …. All the older generation of my family is gone and I think EVERY ONE of them had Amazing Grace sang either by a soloist or by the congregation. I just get so choked up that I can’t sing it. This weekend we are going to Kansas for my cousin’s funeral and I am sure it will be heard at either the visitation or prior to the funeral as background music …. and that will do it for me!
Same here. My mum lived with us into her 103rd year, she laughed at herself still trying to sing Amazing Grace as it went all wobbly. Such bittersweet memories. ❤
I just think about this and I’m emotional… it is UNCHAINED MELODY sung by Elvis Presley at his last concert in 1977 💔 He’s voice was so deep and strong…he gave in that song everything he had!!!
Thank you, Mr. Tim...I said before you must be a good Father...I love you like the Father I NEVER HAD...thank you for sharing...I still need healing...continuously...I do not think I will be completely healed until JESUS...
This past week has been emotional with the recent passing of Toby Keith. His songs have been playing in so many reels, and I’ve had quite a few nights thinking of his passing.
Tim McGraw’s “Don’t Take the Girl” always gets me. My happy song, “A Beautiful Morning “ by the Rascals. Thanks for the cathartic cry. My sister just passed February 4th and I haven’t allowed myself to cry. I feel better now.
I’m so sorry for your loss. When my dad died (4 decades now), I had to go back to work to hold our business together. It was over 3 months before I could finally take the time to cry. A much needed cry. 💔
The day after my mom died, one of my sisters and I were in the car and I Can Only Imagine came on the radio. The comfort and peace that came from that reminder that our mom was with Jesus and we could only imagine what she was seeing and feeling.
I am the worst at crying. I bottle it up all the time. I love music. The Little Drummer Boy makes me tear up. I love Mr. Blue-sky! When I worked at a high school in the special needs class this was one of our bell songs after lunch. I would grab a certain student who loves to dance and we would dance back to class. I will always remember him because of that song.
There are many songs worthy of mentioning that tug at our heartstrings. The one that does it for me is Sarah McLachlan’s ANGEL. This song initially was played in commercial form about and showing the neglect of animals, I.e., dogs and cats. Oh my. Just writing this makes me cry. Great channel. Great video. God bless.
For me it’s Vince Gill’s Go Rest High on the Mountain. Sometimes I cry at John Denver’s Sunshine on My Shoulders”. And I remember you being very good in choir.
My husband went home to be with the Lord a little over a year ago. I’ve wondered about my grieving. Our marriage was not perfect but we made it through. Thank you for this video that made the emotions, tears, thoughts, thankfulness, etc. arise in my heart and flow out in tears. Praise to our Holy God for this music…and for you making this fine, fine video.
While we are allowing tears to flow, I am taken back to 2015, I had left my job at the hospital to become the sole caregiver to my husband. Diabetes had taken 75% of his eyesight (devastating for a professional photographer) and had begun destroying his heart, pancreas and liver. He could barely see his iPad, but he enjoyed listening to his favorite artists daily - something to take his mind away from the pain.. One day he called me into the living room and we had the first of many end of life conversations. He wanted me to write down the name of the song that he wanted me to listen to after he passed away. As I wrote the name down, we both broke into tears. Linda Ronstadt was his favorite female artist. The song is called - "Goodbye My Friend". Even typing the name of the song and sharing this very difficult story, I am sobbing. And yes, I have played that song many times since he passed in October, 2015. Now, for a more uplifting story about how music touches our life - - I have been working as a Church Administrator since 2019. We have a cell tower on the property that is equipped with hourly chimes and hymns that play daily at the noon hour. Surrounding the church grounds is a beautiful neighborhood of attached villas and stand alone homes. I can't tell you how many times we have had people from the neighborhood call or stop by our office and thank us for playing those beautiful hymns. One couple in particular told me they purposely go outside everyday at noon, sit on their porch and pray together while holding hands. I asked if they had a favorite hymn and they said "I Come to the Garden Alone". They are avid gardeners and spend many hours together to beautify the neighborhood. This touched my heart and soul to the core. Something I will remember forever! Thank you for sharing your favorite songs with us Tim. I totally agree with you on "Three Wooden Crosses" and "I Can Only Imagine" - tear jerkers for sure!!
“In Christ Alone” always gets me. Especially the the verse that says: And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ No guilt in life, no fear in death This is the pow'r of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny no pow'r of hell, no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from His hand Till He returns or calls me home Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand
I cried on many of those songs you read the lyrics to. I plan on listening to them. I played I Can Only imagine at my Mom’s funeral. She had a death bed conversion. What a powerful song! The guy who wrote the song, wrote it for his terribly abusive father who later in his life became a Christian. God changed his heart and he reconciled with his son who had also became a Christian. Shortly after, the father got cancer. His son wrote this after his death. He was the singer of Mercy Me. Beautiful true story!
Mr. Blue Sky by ELO was played at my husband’s funeral. His two favorite artists were Jeff Lynne and Elton John. His favorite ELO song was Telephone Line. He was not a cryer but he always teared up when he listened to Elton John’s Indian Sunset.
"Untitled Hymn" Come to Jesus by Chris Rice makes me bawl every time! Even now when I listened to it again. Such powerful words from such a simple song.
Oh, my goodness, I loved this video! I am a kindred soul. I can barely listen to pretty or meaningful music, or sing in church. I get so emotional! I even cried at this video, which I think is your best, yet❣️😢🙂
The first time I heard the acoustic version of Kelly Clarkson’s Piece by Piece, I was on the interstate driving to work. I got three lines in before I broke down just absolutely bawling. I had to pull over and cry through it. She put into words what little me couldn’t find the words to say. I still can’t listen to it without tearing up. Three wooden crosses gets me every time as well. The reminder that God gives everyone the opportunity for redemption, no matter what their history entails is powerful.
At my grandfather's funeral, the three pastors sang Beautiful Savior, acapella, in three part harmony. took me many years to be able to sing this again without choking up. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Tim. I guess I just joined the cryer's club too after listening to the songs you suggested! The Randy Travis one tore me up! You are indeed a kindred soul with a tender and loving heart! I enjoy your videos very much and since I lost my husband 1 1/2 ago, I find myself watching more videos online. Yours really resonates with me. I cry at the drop of a hat and this video was no exception! Your love for our Lord is evident in your demeanor and your videos. Thank you and God bless you!
A lot of hymns will get the tears welling up in my eyes. Softy and Tenderly got me just this past Sunday! I’ve discovered as I age, certain songs take me back to places and events in my past that had a strong emotional influence. The nostalgia and longing for those times or places is almost painful! Very powerful and so very beautiful! Thank you for sharing, Tim!
"Hello" by Adele. I always feel emotional from listening to it. "Someone like You" is another of her songs that hurts my heart. Lastly, "When we were Young" by Adele. Beautiful songs with deep feelings.
Mercy Me I can only imagine. Lost my mother this past Aug as she lay in her bed I had her favorite lantern/ light with Jesus in it and snow swirling around. ( she had macular degeneration) and loved the sparkling lights from the glitter snow . Played that song and stroked her had and she took her last breath. I can only imagine what she saw❤️
This was such a beautiful Video. Old hymns, especially with organ music, Christmas music, and some Country music will make me cry every time. Some of my favorites are: "O Holy Night", " The Dance", and " If tomorrow never comes" by Garth Brooks. You my friend, have a beautiful Soul.
For me “In my life” by the Beatles is my favourite song . I will listen to your songs now. Maybe I can add a few to my list of favorites. Thanks for sharing.
That was lovely Tim. Thank you. Music is very precious. Music started to sound very flat and off tune. I couldn’t understand it, as I love all music. Then I found out I have lost half my hearing. It runs in my family. I love Queen music. But I rarely listen any more, as it’s not the same. But I always have a tear when I listen to the Remembrance Day hymns. I think of all those lives cut short and it really makes me sad.
This is wonderful Tim. Thank you. Very thought provoking. I was driving to work the first time I heard Luther Vandros (sp)Dance with my Father....and then I was wrenching my guts out in city traffic. The Tennessee Waltz has a similar effect because my Dad sang that a lot when I was a kid. There are others but those two push the instant floodgates of emotion. Tissues required! 🙁
"Rainy Days and Mondays," "I Can Only Imagine," "Take My Life and Let it Be, "In the Living Years," and "Eleanor Rigby" are solid tear jerkers for me. 💜💛 Had to add, "Home" by Blake Shelton and "Believe" by Brooks and Dunn.
Ditto on choir and also sang in choir and or praise teams at church for many years. I miss it but just don’t have time to work full time and maintain home etc and be a part of it. Ditto, I am a cryer too! So cool to know there are some men out there with some of the same attributes or past experiences! Thanks for sharing the song that makes me cry instantly now is 😢 Céline Dion’s “Because You Loved Me” my youngest son chose that for us to dance to at his wedding…meant and means so much to me!
I had to cry along with you... I know you warned us, but, I needed to hear those songs. I have so many, many, many that make me cry especially as I age and lose loved ones. Lately I have been crying to "Wake Up" by Arcade Fire with David Bowie. My grandmother's old very old favorite hymns get me every time... I Come To The Garden Alone...
You Say by Lauren Daigle gets me every time. Many times I need to be reminded of the truths of this song. I really enjoyed hearing the lyrics of the very touching songs you shared. Thank you!
Tim, When a Man Crie's 😪 He is Showing His 🤎. You Have a Sweet Precious Soul. When Our Mom was Passing, "I Can Only Imagine" was Playing. I Cried 🤧 throughout This Whole Video . . . Couldn't Imagine 🤔 This W🌍rld withOUT Music. 🎶
The song that gets me is Holy Holy Holy. I am not sure who sings it. My little brother used to stand up behind my Dad in the car and sing just those 3 words. The first 2 or 3 times I went to any kind of meeting after my Dad died that was the song that was sung.❤
Thank you for sharing this video, it is honest, profounds and transparent. Not that long ago, I believed that man did not cry but worst I thought they had no emotions. This video is not a downer it is more a master piece, perhaps a summary of a life well lived. With Love ❤ and gratitude 🙏
Thank you for sharing! Mercy Me is Amazing. From the past, I love the song from Titanic. My heart will go on by Celine Dion. I am 55 and a recent empty nester, and the new song from Jordan Davis "Next thing you Know" hit me like a ton of bricks when I heard it for the first time last year. I love the ages and stages of life, but my favorite saying recently has been...."I thought growing old would take longer" Peace to you!
I try to sing or listen to Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art, and I just can't get through them. Elvis can bring me to tears, but Vince Gill and Carrie Underwood's version of How Great Thou Art tears me up. I'm like you...I'm a crier..and other songs can definitely turn the faucet on. Love your channel!!
Just hearing you speaking the words of the songs made me cry too ❤ One of the songs that always brings me to tears is “The River” by Bruce Springsteen. It is such a sad story. Thank you for sharing that side of you ❤
Oh Tim, Thank you for this sweet episode. I am also a cryer! I find church difficult, not least because I'm pretty sure the song leader must wonder why that lady often exits the sanctuary during a hymn.. I'm thankful for your company ❤
Outstanding video with true heart and great selections...now I have a swollen red face for the evening LOL I have a couple that get to me...like Tom Wait's "Georgia Lee" sung by Phoebe Bridgers...makes me sob...unreal in a car on a bleak, rainy day. And since 1974 I have adored Bette Midler's version of John Prine's "Hello In There". I was very close to my Grandparents...they saved me as a child...and I found old folks interesting. And finally, "How Great Thou Art" which I had to sing at my Grandmother's funeral as she had made me promise....hardest song to get thru in my life. I choked up and wept, then resumed and FINALLY got thru it. I still can hear her singing it around the house in her thin, high Jeanette-McDonald type voice. She also loved "In the Gloaming", but one did me in. Nevermore, quoth the Raven! Thank you Tim- Susan, in Va ua-cam.com/video/H6xM_SsZClw/v-deo.html Georgia Lee by Tom Waits ua-cam.com/video/doUI6cWbz_U/v-deo.html Hello In There sung by Bette
LeAnn Rimes Probably Wouldn't Be This Way. My fiance drowned 45 years ago and this makes me think of him. I'm now a happy 65 year old grandmother. Also Kathy Mattea Where've You Been makes me think of my mother and father in law.
The first time I heard I Can Only Imagine was at the funeral of a friend and father of an 8yo, 2yo, and 3week old. He died in a farm accident. It was such an emotional moment. I knew he was in front of God at that moment. Oh my goodness. Thank you for talking about a subject that is seldom addressed but touches us all. I’m not a person who seeks music anymore. I used to love to sing but surgery left my vocal cords damaged and my voice cracky. It’s just too difficult.
I totally agree with “bring him home.” That was so powerful on stage. I have five songs that always make me cry and I realize the theme seems to be children. Concrete Angel, by Martina McBride, Alyssa Lies by Jason Michael Carroll, The Little Girl by Michael Montgomery, Teddy Bear by Red Sovine and Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jack. I’m sure there’s more but these are the ones that came to mind right away. And I know this video was so long ago. You probably will not see this comment. But I just went and watched all of these songs and had the best cry I’ve had in a long time. We need to do that once in a while. If you haven’t heard of any of these songs, I recommend them but be prepared. Three of them are about child abuse and I think that’s why I get so upset because I’m in the education field and I’m a mom and this just hits.
Tim, I this video came up today on my UA-cam feed, so I decided to listen to it on my drive home. You didn't play the songs, but I was crying along with you anyway! I didn't realize this video was a few months old until I started reading the comments. In my 5, I have one in common with you: "I Can Only Imagine". My others: "When I Get Where I'm Going" Brad Paisley & Dolly Parton "The Star Spangled Banner" Francis Scott Key "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" Tony Orlando & Dawn (The love story, forgiveness & redemption...SO good!) (I also boo-hoo at 3 Wooden Crosses!) But the one that got me the first time and EVERY time I've ever heard it, regardless of who sings it: "Mary, Did You Know?" I cannot explain why it is such a gut punch for me. I'm ugly crying just a few seconds into the song. I'm actually leaking tears right now just THINKING about it. Whew! Thanks for this, even though I'm late to the crying party! 😊❤
What a nice video. Music and smells are some of the most emotionally evocative things for me. I love the songs you shared and there are several that choke me up. For some reason, the theme song to La La Land gets me weepy. I run hot and cold with musicals but that song alone tells the story of their romance and loss. Maybe it’s because I was ending a relationship at that time that it affects me so deeply. But I guess that’s what music does: it connects us with feelings and memories.
Hi, Tim. Oh my...my mom and dad were also regular solo/duet church singers. Dad was a tenor and mom an alto/contralto. Although they were wonderful together, mom was on constant request by the congregation to sing, "How Great Thou Art." I don't care who sings that song, I cannot hear it without being reduced to a wreck of tears, because what I hear is her. I love the song, but the loss of my mom still stings and that song is just too much for me. Since she has been gone 25 years, I'm unlikely to ever recover. Music is a huge part of my life and I associate many songs/tunes with many memories. Some I love recalling, others I'd rather forget and cannot. I'll go listen to my favorite happy song now, "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers. Thanks for the video, Tim.
Thank you for sharing this and for being so vulnerable. I love music, and it definitely is a big part of my life. My Spotify had over 66,000 minutes of listening in 2023. Here are some of mine: For the Good Times by Ray Price. Long, Long Time by Linda Ronstadt. Take Me to the King by anyone. Three Wooden Crosses by Randy Travis gets me too (really bad). In fact, lots of country songs make me cry. Mainly because they remind me of my late Father. My Mom passed last August and we played It's a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. It gets me in the feels big time.
Lovely video Tim, music has the ability to bring out the emotions. I love the Songs of the Auvergne sung by many but for me Nerania Davrath is the best interpreter of these French pastoral songs. La Delaissadio & Bailero are my favourites. Joseph Canteloubes music is heaven sent. Pour a drink, sit down in a comfy chair and feel the emotion in these songs. Look forward to your reaction, do let me know!
A song that almost always make me cry is by The Judds - Grandpa (Tell me 'bout the Good Ole Days). I have always liked "Three Wooden Crosses" by Randy Travis. It makes me cry too.
Thanks for sharing. I had to look up Beth Hart, never heard of her. WOW! What a talent! I have added her to my playlist. A few songs that makes me cry are Rescue Story by Zach Williams, Almost Home by Craig Morgan, and I Sure Miss You by Jason Crabb (played this one at my Daddy’s funeral).
Many songs and pieces of music can cut me up, but one will always do it.. if you don't mind I'll have to give a short back story.. My mother always liked some opera pieces, she was by no means an aficionado of any kind, she just liked certain bits. So as a treat I took her and my dad to The Bristol Hippodrome to see The Welsh National Opera perform Puccini's Madam Butterfly.. fast forward to the famous aria 'Un bel di vedremo' and at its peak I look at my mother sitting next to me and she has tears streaming down her face, even though it was sung in Italian, the power of the moment touched my mother so. Even now thirty six years after her passing, and thirty seven years since that performance I cry like a baby when I hear that aria.
“You fill up my senses” by John Denver. My daughter is named “Jennifer” and that part about …” oh little Jennifer I’d give a penny for what you’ve got on your mind…” broke me up when she was a babe in arms 40 years ago, and still does. In fact, I’m getting a little teary-eyed just thinking about it. My dad was a choir director at a few different churches we attended, and he and mom sang in church when he was not director. They sang beautifully together, and would sing on family trips. I’m not sure how much I missed that until you brought up the subject. Thank you for that.
Your video was a gift.thank you.Be not Afraid” by Bob Duffort SJ brings me to tears every time! I also love “surely the presence of the Lord is in this place”
Listening to you talk about the song Bring Him home, I was immediately reminded of a song by Mark Schultz called He's My Son. That song absolutely wrecks me every time I hear it
Three words, a beautiful man. That's what you are.😇
Wow, thank you
That so sweet. I say that my son…. I say “ do you know why I call you my beautiful boy?
No, why?
Because you have a beautiful heart

Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton. I heard this on the radio after loosing my father. I could barely drive for cying. I was pregnant with my 4th son at the time. We buried Dad 5 days before my son was born. That was 32 years ago. Still brings me to tears.
Bless your heart that must jave been a hard time for you. It never really goes completely away- I bet it does in Heaven though!
It's making me cry just thinking of that song and why he wrote it.

My condolences on your recent loss. 💔. Everything by Fernando Ortega is just beautiful.

My condolences on your loss. 💔
Sorry for your loss!
I am very sorry for your loss. Sending a hug🙏
Thank you.
I can't even sing the Star Spangled Banner without crying.
I’m a Canadian and I can’t hear it either without getting emotional.😊
So I am not the only one!!! That song does me in 🎼
🤍
Seasons In The Sun - it’s an old song from the 70’s from when I was a kid. It makes me cry every time, especially now that I’m getting older and so many loved ones and friends have passed
🩵🤍💜
I was at a relative's funeral. His son played the music. When they took the casket out of church, Bill sang Roy Rogers song - Happy Trails. Everyone was in tears.
My mother was an organist in church for 50 years so I'm familiar with every sad song there is.
Thank you for this video, bringing back memories for everyone.

This video moved me so deeply, I really have no words to explain. I’d just like to say Thank you for sharing today - you really have a lot of insight and I think we were all blessed the day you decided to start this channel.
Wow! Thank you!
🤗🤗🤗
Thank you for sharing, Tim. 🧡
As I wipe my tears after watching your heartfelt video, I am reminded of the dozens of songs that have also made me feel so very emotional for various reasons:
“Hallelujah” written by Leonard Cohen, sung by Jeff Buckley. (Pentatonix sings a lovely version, as well.)
“A Song for You” written by Leon Russell , sung by Donny Hathaway.
I can think of so many others, because I really adore music of all genres, and l cannot imagine life without it (or books.)
☮️🧡🎶📚
❤
Thank you for sharing your very personal story. ❤️
I’m getting teary eyed just reading the comments.😢
Me too!

Good topic though Tim🥰

I am redeemed.....by Big Daddy Weave. Its POWERFUL . We always play it for the inmates in our jail ministry. Verse 1]
Seems like all I could see was the struggle
Haunted by ghosts that lived in my past
Bound up in shackles of all my failures
Wondering how long is this gonna last
Then you look at this prisoner and say to me
"Son, stop fighting a fight, its already been won"
[Chorus]
I am redeemed, You set me free
So I'll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain
That I'm not who I used to be
I am redeemed, I'm redeemed
❤️
When I hear Daniel by Elton John I tear up. My nephew Daniel ran across busy main street in Peoria trying to meet up with his older brother and got hit and killed. I remember taking them both to the Heart of Illinois fair and they said ... Uncle Mark no one has ever done this for us.
❤
The Lord placed a song directly into my hands about two weeks after our first baby was born. She was stillborn at 40 weeks and we were devastated. The sang is called “Glory Baby” by Watermark. This song helped to heal my heart and I went on to sing it in church and at a few baby memorials over the years. It never fails to bring tears to my eyes but I’m so thankful for the day I found it. God knew I needed it to help heal my heart.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m thankful the Lord provided some healing in the process.
❤
Thought of another comment. After John Denver died, too young and suddenly, I avoided any of his music for a long time. He was my older sister’s age. He had lived in Texas, as I did. LOVED his music and still do but for a long time it was just “too soon”. Carole
As a preachers kid, and now a preachers wife, these songs also hit me! One that gets me in a special way is an old one, “Thank you for giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed”. Being in cross cultural missions for 40 yrs, I can see precious faces that can sing that song all because someone was sent to share.😊
💚💚💚
Well this video has me in tears. My song is Be Thou My Vision. It was my Mom's favorite hymn. She passed fifteen years ago. I cry in church every time we sing it ❤️
I love that song. Fernando Ortega has a beautiful version.
❤
Amazing Grace …. All the older generation of my family is gone and I think EVERY ONE of them had Amazing Grace sang either by a soloist or by the congregation. I just get so choked up that I can’t sing it. This weekend we are going to Kansas for my cousin’s funeral and I am sure it will be heard at either the visitation or prior to the funeral as background music …. and that will do it for me!
❤️
Same here. My mum lived with us into her 103rd year, she laughed at herself still trying to sing Amazing Grace as it went all wobbly. Such bittersweet memories. ❤
🤗
How Great Thou Art, the third verse, I just blubber.
Yes, such a song of comfort!❤
❤
I just think about this and I’m emotional… it is
UNCHAINED MELODY sung by Elvis Presley at his last concert in 1977 💔 He’s voice was so deep and strong…he gave in that song everything he had!!!
Oh I love that song too ❤
❤
Thank you, Mr. Tim...I said before you must be a good Father...I love you like the Father I NEVER HAD...thank you for sharing...I still need healing...continuously...I do not think I will be completely healed until JESUS...
❤️
This past week has been emotional with the recent passing of Toby Keith. His songs have been playing in so many reels, and I’ve had quite a few nights thinking of his passing.
Toby Keith was taken way too soon. His music is fantastic!
💚
☺
I cry all the time. Used to cry at sappy commercials on tv. Don’t watch much tv anymore. But I still cry often. On Eagles Wings always gets me crying.
The Little Drummer Boy gets me too. The line where he says I have no gift to bring that's fit to give our King...😭
God bless.
My son was around 5 yo when that commercial aired. He would leave the room until it was over; he just couldn't take it.
My condolences on your loss. ❤️
Thank you.
So sorry for your loss. 😢
Thank you…
@@charleneh8374 Welcome! 🤗
Thank YOU for sharing these amazing stories!
“I will be here” by Steven Curtis Chapman - gets me every time!
That’s a beautiful song. Curtis Chapman is a favorite of mine.
Me too Kathleen. That might be my favorite by SCC.
Great video, Tim! As I mentioned in my text message, my most likely songs are cats in the cradle and don’t take the girl.
“In Christ Alone” always gets me. Especially the the verse that says:
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the pow'r of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
no pow'r of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand
❤
I cried on many of those songs you read the lyrics to. I plan on listening to them. I played I Can Only imagine at my Mom’s funeral. She had a death bed conversion. What a powerful song! The guy who wrote the song, wrote it for his terribly abusive father who later in his life became a Christian. God changed his heart and he reconciled with his son who had also became a Christian. Shortly after, the father got cancer. His son wrote this after his death. He was the singer of Mercy Me. Beautiful true story!
❤❤❤
I’m not sure if you know about this, but there was a movie made about his life. Very emotional, the name of the movie is the name of the song.
I just had to add one more Tim…
This is my go to Happy song best ever.
Walking on Sunshine : Katrina and the Waves!!!! 😊😊😊
Mr. Blue Sky by ELO was played at my husband’s funeral. His two favorite artists were Jeff Lynne and Elton John. His favorite ELO song was Telephone Line. He was not a cryer but he always teared up when he listened to Elton John’s Indian Sunset.
I’m very sorry for your loss. It sounds like your husband had great taste in music. I love that you honored that for him.
"Untitled Hymn" Come to Jesus by Chris Rice makes me bawl every time! Even now when I listened to it again. Such powerful words from such a simple song.
You have such a way with words and uniquely communicate your thoughts so well and honestly! Great video!!
Thank you so much!
Oh, my goodness, I loved this video! I am a kindred soul. I can barely listen to pretty or meaningful music, or sing in church. I get so emotional! I even cried at this video, which I think is your best, yet❣️😢🙂
❤️
ive never heard a man say he was a crier
that is very touching
I am a Canadian female and the star spangled banner makes me cry
Your strong emotions are admirable.
Danny boy, sung by anyone, and Amazing Grace does it for me.
❤
Beautiful post. For me, it's When I Get to Where I'm Going by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton.
That is an incredible song! I first heard it by Geoff Moore (maybe he wrote it?). But Brad and Dolly’s version is best!
❤
I love that you can be open about your feelings.
❤
Healing Moments for you and anyone listening. Thanks for sharing!
Crying right along with you. "I can only imagine" gets me every time.
I am very sorry for your loss. 💔 But what a wonderful memory of your mother.
❤
Harvest Moon by Neil Young. It’s gets me every time.
One of my favorites!!
I love that song!
I’m so glad I watched this before I applied my mascara 😢this morning. 😂. It’s because we care. 🙏❤. Sad songs must be followed with happy songs. 😁
This was such a beautiful Video. Old hymns, especially with organ music, Christmas music, and some Country music will make me cry every time. Some of my favorites are:
"O Holy Night", " The Dance", and " If tomorrow never comes" by Garth Brooks.
Thanks you for taking us out of this world, if for only 18 min. and 1 sec.
😊
This is wonderful Tim. Thank you. Very thought provoking. I was driving to work the first time I heard Luther Vandros (sp)Dance with my Father....and then I was wrenching my guts out in city traffic. The Tennessee Waltz has a similar effect because my Dad sang that a lot when I was a kid. There are others but those two push the instant floodgates of emotion. Tissues required! 🙁
Oh, man! I forgot all about Dance With My Father!
In The Living Years is another for me.
That is another song now that you brought up that one “I can Only Imagine.”😢 Wow, those lyrics “How are things at Home.”😢😢❤
❤

Just today I heard this song for the first time and I cry with tears of joy.
❤
Thank you for sharing this video, it is honest, profounds and transparent.
Not that long ago, I believed that man did not cry but worst I thought they had no emotions.
This video is not a downer it is more a master piece, perhaps a summary of a life well lived.
With Love ❤ and gratitude 🙏
Wow! Thank you!
I love the ages and stages of life, but my favorite saying recently has been...."I thought growing old would take longer"
Peace to you!
Thank you Tim- Susan, in Va

LeAnn Rimes Probably Wouldn't Be This Way. My fiance drowned 45 years ago and this makes me think of him. I'm now a happy 65 year old grandmother. Also Kathy Mattea Where've You Been makes me think of my mother and father in law.
I do have songs that touch me deeply and one of those is “I can only imagine”. My volume is always turned up for it. Wynonna is great singing it.
Yesterday when I was Young (Roy Clark), Honey (Bobby Goldsboro).

My emotional songs are Pomp and Circumstance at graduations, Ave Maria and lesser known Holly Dunn song called, On the Wings of An Angel."
Mother Earth and Father Time from the movie Charlotte's Web; How Great Thou Art.
What a lovely video, thank you.
Thank you for this list!
My song is The Wind Beneath my Wings 😢
Tim, I this video came up today on my UA-cam feed, so I decided to listen to it on my drive home. You didn't play the songs, but I was crying along with you anyway! I didn't realize this video was a few months old until I started reading the comments. In my 5, I have one in common with you: "I Can Only Imagine". My others:
"When I Get Where I'm Going" Brad Paisley & Dolly Parton
"The Star Spangled Banner" Francis Scott Key
"Tie a Yellow Ribbon" Tony Orlando & Dawn
(The love story, forgiveness & redemption...SO good!) (I also boo-hoo at 3 Wooden Crosses!) But the one that got me the first time and EVERY time I've ever heard it, regardless of who sings it: "Mary, Did You Know?" I cannot explain why it is such a gut punch for me. I'm ugly crying just a few seconds into the song. I'm actually leaking tears right now just THINKING about it. Whew! Thanks for this, even though I'm late to the crying party! 😊❤
Thanks for sharing with us!
I never heard “How are things at home” until you posted it. I sobbed…. 😢
Here are some of mine:
For the Good Times by Ray Price.
Oh yes - I forgot this song that always makes me cry -"If You're Reading This" by Tim McGraw
Those are great songs!
Jason Crabb is such an incredible talent.
Thank you for another great thought-provoking video! The song that always gets me is Love without End, Amen by George Strait ... best "dad" song ever.
Enjoyed this video very much. Music is such an emotional thing. ❤
❤
“You fill up my senses” by John Denver. My daughter is named “Jennifer” and that part about …” oh little Jennifer I’d give a penny for what you’ve got on your mind…” broke me up when she was a babe in arms 40 years ago, and still does. In fact, I’m getting a little teary-eyed just thinking about it.
My dad was a choir director at a few different churches we attended, and he and mom sang in church when he was not director. They sang beautifully together, and would sing on family trips. I’m not sure how much I missed that until you brought up the subject. Thank you for that.
❤️
Your video was a gift.thank you.Be not Afraid” by Bob Duffort SJ brings me to tears every time! I also love “surely the presence of the Lord is in this place”
I Can Only Imagine. Played at my little sister's memorial. Cant listen to it. I have no idea how you make it through singing it. ❤
🤗
I can never get through hearing Danny Boy without tears.
Listening to you talk about the song Bring Him home, I was immediately reminded of a song by Mark Schultz called He's My Son. That song absolutely wrecks me every time I hear it

You have a good heart. Thank you for sharing it with us. ❤
