  • Finally went back to the Brissy river for a couple hours in the afternoon. Had hopes of finding some schools of thread fin salmon but only seen a few scattered fish and was restricted to one side of the river.
Luckily I found some jew along the docks and one cast and one hop, was all I needed to get a bite from a good jewie.
    Tackle used;
    Molix Fork Flex 5" wakasagi
    BKK 3/4oz 6/0 jighead
    Dobyns Kaden 745c
    ABU Revo Beast
    Sunline castaway 50lb and fc100 60lb leader.

Good vid as always Pete. How are you finding the security lately? In years past they would chase away everyone but was there on the weekend and they didn’t seem to care at all that boats were right next to the wharves

Had a guy try move me on that day even though I was 35m off the docks 🤷‍♂️.
Yeah, seen few photos of boats hard up against the docks. Who knows?? I just try and maintain that 30m as best I can and deal with security I guess.

The jewies release so much better than the threadys. I got a couple of threadys around there the other week and i had to use a release aid to get them back to the bottom. They were scattered as well and i picked the first one up on a livie. A big arch would appear under the boat every 10mins or so. 455hz is much clearer picture for wider distance on my garmin at the port.

Think it’s the soft belly of the threadfin maybe 🤷‍♂️.
I did change to 800hz later and it was ok but some days 455hz is better. Anywhere else it’s mega 1200hz 🤷‍♂️.

Nice one again Pete I’ll say it again mate you are the jewie whisperer ! I hope your on a bonus with molix mate I’m sure sales would have gone up since these vids lol bit of a weird question though mate, what brand sunnies strap you uses it looks like something I might be after something small and light I don’t like the bigger straps.
    Cheers

Thanks for your generous sharing mate. Had few donuts there but you've inspired me to get back down there. Any tips on trailer maintenance with so much salt water exposure? Do you use saltaway or just hose with water after a trip? Any recommendations otherwise for gal trailer ?

Yeah she can be up and down the old brissy mate…
Geez mate, nothing I’ve found is a silver bullet for gal trailers. I bought a new few years ago and coated it with penatrol a few times which helped but was starting to go again….
Ended up making a trailer with ally bit of a year ago. No looking back now….. 😍

It’s random hey. I was well off the docks in this clip, wider than the width of the boat and some. I try and keep 30m from the wall as a that’s the rule. There are some security that are good, some that maybe are a touch full on.
