Hi Tamara, I love your trench coat design, it looks marvelous on our Neema and Ellowyne dolls. The plaid lining is perfect! I'd love to see how you attached the tabs on the sleeves, it's such a great detail. Stay well, warm and safe.
@@collectablechaos That's ok, thanks. Either knotted as she has done it or I think it looks really nice flat and trimmed with a button, just like the trench coat I made for my mom a few years ago. And perhaps there will be video footage of the sleeve straps being attached at some point.
Just curious, what kind of fabric do you use for this - that doesn't look like plain cotton. Would love to know! Thank you so much - this is a beautiful pattern! Really excited to give it a shot. I'm also about to buy one of your older patterns - you have a really cute a line dress pattern for Ellowyne that I really want to try. Thank you so much!
Hi Tamara, I’ve tried to buy some patterns but can’t get any where with your website. Any ideas? The site was supposed to send me a link to renew my password even though I never had a previous password? Please help?
Did I miss something, or did you skip the installation of the straps onto the coat sleeves? You went from sewing on the belt loops (with the wrist straps not on) to a pic of the coat with the belt tied (with the wrist straps on), and then to a pic of the finished coat on the doll!
It's the same thing as for the loops. You sew them on by hand where the markings are and thread the straps/belt as you would on your own clothes. We must repeat this step with the loop for all of them and tie the belts/straps in place. At least this is my thinking, I hope this helps. And Tamara can clarify it further
I have never worn a trench coat so have no idea how the wrist straps should work, but all the other steps are shown in this tutorial but this one is missing.
@@karenstimson2683 it is very similar to how you thread the belt through the loops on your pants or jeans. Also some models of trench coats don’t have these straps on the sleeves. To be honest I never wore it either, they don’t suit me at all. I hope Tamara can show it in shorts or explain it better than I did :)
Your sewing is beautiful. Thank you so much for these tutorials. I really appreciate them.
You are so welcome!
Tamara, thanks for another great tutorial! 😊

Same as the tabs for the belt, hand-sewn in the place where the markings are

Thank you so much! You attach one belt loop to each sleeve and thread the strap through it and tie.
@@DesignsbyJude You're welcome! Gotta say, it's a great coat. Love it!

I sent you a new password to your email address.
@@DesignsbyJude thank you a million times☺️love all your patterns. I can’t wait until the grace subscription begins again
What a wonderful pattern! Now Grace is whining (in a totally genteel sort of way, of course) that she's like one too.
The pattern can be used for Grace as well.
@@DesignsbyJude yay!

There is just one belt loop on each sleeve, then the strap slips through it to tie.
