This blouse is so cute on its own, with so many options to style it. With or without sleeves, and with jeans. I'm transcribing this video too so I can make the blouse very soon. Would you please make a video on how to make the Box Pleat Long Skirt by Danny Choo? I would so much like to make that one, but am clueless without someone showing me how.
Yes it’s such a versatile piece, really pretty with lots of other clothes! Ooh yes I certainly could, I’ve made one in denim already (not in a video) so will put it on my video list 😁 Thank you so much for the super thanks too, it’s my first one! ✨🤩✨
I guess you can never be too early for Octoberfest. I like how all the pieces are separate so you could also mix and match with other pieces to create different outfits. Really liked the colours that you used.
Love your work! You are SO skilled. When I am feeling discouraged, I just play one of your videos to give myself the push I need to keep sharpening my skills. My mom taught me to sew when I was a little girl and I wish I never stopped! Now as I’m trying to pick it back up as an adult to teach my daughter, I’m remembering a lot, but it’s so easy to get discouraged. Thank you for your videos! They are the right amount of detail without feeling overwhelming, and always turn out beautifully.
You’re so kind to say that, thank you so much🥰 I’m the same, I’m so glad I came back to sewing again! Hoping my daughter will be keen to learn soon too 😉 X
This is acute pattern. I don't have a Smart Doll, but have several large dolls that would look good in this. Your channel is always so interesting. Yes it is so easy when you break it down like you do. Stay well and safe. From Tennessee USA 🇺🇸
Amazing job. The outfit give autumn/ Halloween vibe. I was about to give the pattern a try but I accidentally cut my finger with my scissors 😭. Also I alway have trouble doing an gathering in outfit do you have any tip for it.
For gathering stitches, I use my machine, though you can hand sew a running stitch instead. I set a long straight stitch, and turn my tension down to 0. You can leave long threads uncut at the start and end, but I often do a back and forth to secure the start, and just gather from one end. Grab one of the long threads and gently try to slide the fabric away from it to gather it a little section at a time. I find for skirts especially that sewing two long rows of gathering stitches holds everything straight better, and I just unpick the gathering stitches if it shows after being sewn to the other piece. I hope your fingers heals up quick! 🩹 Yes total autumn vibes! Probably why I like it so much 😆 Thanks for watching!
Oh Beth, this is such a cool dress for a dirndl for Oktoberfest like you said. I used to wear my dirndl all the time in Germany during festivals and here in USA when I was younger. I can't wear it anymore, I can't fit into it. Too old and out of shape. I need to warn you about saving all your videos and anything on a Thumb drive from any place on the Internet. We might be getting our new Worldwide Internet from satellites at the end of this month. I just wanted to warn you and all the other women that I watch on You tube so you don't lose everything you worked hard on. This new Internet system will be called Quantum Internet and run off of Satellites. We will be doing our Banking, voting, education, just about everything this way. It can not be corrupted or hacked. The Space Force here in Colorado Springs, CO where I live will be in charge of it. It sounds so exciting, but I am a little nervous learning new information like this at my age and having MS too. I tend to not remember what I just learned and that could be a problem. I loved this tutorial even though I don't own a Smart doll. I just learned about the concept of these dolls. I was always wondering why they look like they have port wine stains on their vinyl? I understand why now. Perfectly, imperfect, just like me. I don't walk with crutches but I do use a cane on occasion when I feel unsteady on my feet. I was so impressed looking at the dolls that are amputees, hearing aides, skin issues, crutches. That is so sweet of them to do that. It almost made me cry looking at all the different dolls that were special needs. Unfortunately, having MS, most people don't know that I have it unless I tell them or they see me struggling to get out of a stretch or falling down, but otherwise I look normal. I printed out this dirndl pattern and hope that it can be used for my Harmony doll that is 22" tall from Ideal Toys in 1972. She has a long dirndl on right now. I have 5 of them in different outfits. I love her hippie look. Someone, from Etsy long time ago made a Gunne Sax hippie dress for her, and I also have a complete Wedding dress ensemble for her in a zip lock bag plus shoes and the veil. It is gorgeous. I have one of my Harmony's playing a real miniature acoustic guitar as well. Well, she is looking like that anyway. Hope you and Evie and Craig and Kitty are doing well? We have a real German style weather week here in Colorado, Wet and soggy all week. My grass is so dead it needs water so badly. I hope and pray it comes back to life. Talk to you soon. Oh, Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day? My son Tim surprised me by taking me out for lunch on Saturday last weekend and we went to our very favorite German Restaurant UWE's here in Colorado Springs, CO for Jager snitzel, spaetzla and I had Red Cabbage, Ghuwein and Apfel Streusel. Yummy! I am not even German, but I love their food.
Aww Elaine thank you so much for that! Yes I love the varied representation from Smart Doll too, it’s so important for less visible disabilities too 💕 I’m really considering drafting a dirndl! Thank you, I hope you’re all well too! Yummy! I’m going back to Berlin in August, can’t wait to enjoy the food!! 😉
Thank you for the tutorial. I love Danny’s patterns but without instructions I struggle with sewing them.
You’re welcome! They’re such good patterns, I think it’s important to have good tutorials available for them 😄🪡🧵
