If you need proof go to a UA-cam channel call project farm . Type in project farm motor oil he did a lot of testing of motor oils and Amsoil did come out # 1 he had all the big name synthetic oils and ran Numerous tests . He tests just about anything from oil to Portable car Compressor pumps it’s a great channel check it out he has over 2 million Subscribers
I have used Walmart's Super Tech oil for years without any problems. Yeah the other oils might test slightly better but they all do the job just fine. A good analogy is when you're at the gas pump and you can choose hi grade/premium gas, mid grade, or regular. All 3 will work just fine in your car with minimal difference (unless you have a high performance car...). So why pay for premium when regular is just fine?
It's Amsoil. I love my Amsoil Signature series diesel oils capability to run up to 25.000 miles before change for my Nissan Pickup then 60.000 miles in heavy off and on road trucks. It's also the original inventor of 100% full synthetics.
Been using Mobil 1 since 96k in my CVPI. Now has 232k, runs great and doesn't burn oil. I go 7500 between changes and at 7500 the oil still feels good. My guess is I could really change it every 10k. I'll bet all these oils work well and have very little difference between them.
I got 350k one of of my CVPIs that I’ve ran exclusively just Amsoil from ownership, my other one I’ve ran Mobil 1 and honestly I think it’s just frequent oil changes that matter.
As an engine machinist and builder of 28 years... Going to 7500 is pushing it. There is no oil on the market that doesn't get contaminated with combustion byproducts. There is no oil filter on the market that can filter out combustion byproducst from any oil. 5000 miles is the most I'd recommend. Once you get past that, the byproducts from combustion become very acidic and start breaking down value stem seals, o-rings and gaskets. As far as what brand of oil to use... As long as it meets the manufacturers specification it really doesn't matter.
Been using Mobil 1 in my trucks for the last 20 years until my last oil change in my '07 Ram 2500. Tried Penzoil UP and I am quite surprised. Definitely notice an improvement in mileage which I thought was hogwash. Runs smoother, quieter, and gets better MPG. I'm sold on Penzoil UP.
Initially I had some reservations with Amsoil, I know they’re good oil to begin with (all the oils are in this video are) but it won me over completely when I saw how clean my engine internal was after its head cover opened(dealer mech was very impressed) and it had very negligible oil consumption (ford 2.0 turbo eco boost). Did not need to top up even after 10K KM. I switched over from Castrol Edge fully synthetic and ran with amsoil over 5 years. My Honda 2003 V6 switched over from Mobil 1 also felt more lively. My Mazda CX-9 2.5 Turbo loves it too. So yes I am very pleased and have full confidence to continue with Amsoil Signature Series.
I run Amsoil in everything I own! Diesel truck, Harley, Subaru, Yamaha Grizzly, mower, chainsaw!! Outstanding product and I use their oil filters!! Highly recommend it!!
My auto manual states 5W30 and it doesn't specifically mention a name brand, and to change engine oil every 3000 miles. With that being said I buy whichever is cheaper and my hat goes to Super Tech. My auto is running strong with no smelly burnt odor and no smoke from the exhaust.
I have used Castrol only in every automobile I have owned. I needed an oil change last week and took it to the oil change center and they only had Valvoline and Pennzoil. They said Pennzoil is good but I have seen the inside of Pennzoil engine and I would NEVER USE PENNZOIL EVER so I went with Valvoline and so far I am satisfied with my choice of Valvoline as my only go to oils are Castrol and Valvoline.
Not an expert but I think that using any synthetic oil it's much better than conventional oil and the difference among synthetic oils it's not that significant, so to me it's not worth It to pay up to three times the cost from one synthetic oil to another. So I'll stick with any synthetic oil with synthetic filter, changing them regularity.
You nailed it. Any "premium" oil provides the same protection as any other oil with the same specs and approvals, including "house" branded oil from Costco or Shitmart. To say one is better than another is idiocy.
Havoline Pro-DS is excellent. Been using it since 2019 on my Toyota Sienna SE when GF6 began rolling out all over. I change every six months regardless of miles and it averages about 4k and oil looks hardly dark.
Pennzoil made the switch to making the oil from natural gas , so I'm running it now ( I was using Amsoil ) ...230k running like new and the oil is staying clean longer ..! 1/3 the cost of Amsoil...!
I've been using Amsoil in my 94 Ford ranger after the 1000 mile break-was complete. At 160,000 miles it still lays rubber. INDEPENDENT TESTS PROVED ITS THE BEST. I change it once a year. (It's good for 1 year/25,000 k miles.
Although more expensive, I stick with Amsoil. Save more in the long run with less oil changes throughout my cars lifespan compared to more frequent oil changes with the cheaper oil. Over 350k miles on my crown Victoria been running Amsoil since I got it at 115k miles!!
What Amsoil do you use? Amsoil OE, Amsoil XL or their Top Dog Asmoil Signature Series? I use the OE mainly in my 2013 Tacoma and my 2013 Santa Fe XL and change it every 6 months since I only put about 3,000 to 4,000 miles a year. But my Camry I use the Amsoil XL since I put about 12,000 to 15,000 miles a year.
Use what you get the best results from. I went back and forth on Castrol and Havoline. I get better mileage and it’s lasts longer on Havoline. Had Mobil 1 and it gave me the same results as the Havoline Pro DS
