- Here is great hard rock LP by power trio `Three Man Army` self titled and released on the obscure Pegasus label (PEG 3) in 1971 it featured the Gurvitz Bros just after leaving `Gun`. It comes in a nice gatefold matt finish sleeve on the very distinctive Pegasus label that has a great picture of the mythological horse on the one side (there were only 10 ever releases with this design on the label). Mint copies are reaching £200 though a copy went for £250 in 2013. Why not subscribe I post regularly.

The group was formed by Adrian Gurvitz and Paul Gurvitz, formerly of The Gun. Following the band's dissolution, Adrian played with Buddy Miles and Paul played with Parrish & Gurvitz, then reunited as Three Man Army. Their debut album, A Third of a Lifetime, featured several drummers, including Miles, Carmine Appice (of Vanilla Fudge) and Mike Kellie (from Spooky Tooth). Tony Newman, who had previously played with Sounds Incorporated and Rod Stewart, joined for the group's next two albums, and a fourth album was planned but never recorded. Newman then left to play with David Bowie, and the Gurvitzes united with Ginger Baker as the Baker Gurvitz Army.

These guys synergize wonderfully. One of best albums released by a power trio.
I first bought this fabulous LP in 1971, aged 16. It made no impression with anyone such was the, erm, quality of more famous bands. My LP got nicked by a friend. When I was 36 I chanced upon it again in a 2nd hand record shop. I bought it again - it was still brilliant, and still in its gatefold sleeve. I wore it out. Fifteen years ago I found another perfect album in the gatefold sleeve and bought it - for next to nowt. It's now in a safety deposit box but my daughter, now 38, is now in the process of torturing me to give it to her, so enamoured is she of this music!
I bought when I was 20 I am now 73 cracking album still play it to this day. Very underrated band

Good album. The Pegasus label pressing is quite rare, but it was released in America on the Buddah/Kama Sutra label (which is a bit easier to find).

hell yeah,been a fan since '76. bought around 8 copies for 99 cents each in a bargain bin in '77. Buddha label, non gatefold. I have American & British gatefolds too. "Agent man" isn't on American pressings
