For the video editing, I'd say imovie is what most people have, and it'll be easier than learning another software and do a great job if you're paying attention to be professional/unique with your transitions, mixing, and/or text. Audio and video quality is arguably more important than rushing to learn cheesy effects. But ultimately, any choices in 'video' should add to one's personality, which is most important since, based on what I read on forums, there are many (maybe most) accepted videos that aren't uploaded to UA-cam that don't involve or minimizes editing -it's just them talking. Otherwise, this video is a great and overdue resource!
