I instantly went to the comments looking for this. Don't get me wrong, I love the Brendan Fraser ones. I even like the Tom Cruise one. But calling it the "Original" is just blasphemous.
Asking whether Wes's dad was abusive and being answered by a demon trapped in a sociopathic child...twisted, answering the question in classic Buffyverse fashion... :)
I always loved this episode for twist. Humans are certainly capable of worse evil than demons. I also think it helps close the grieving process for Doyle, which I'm glad they did not do in the very next episode after his death but gave it a little space.
Definitely an homage to "The Excorcist" and horror flicks of the 70s of its ilk like "Rosemary's Baby". I really dug the episode on my original viewing, the twist was excellent and the way the demon tried to manipulate Angel by mentioning and masquerading as Doyle and by taunting Wesley was really great. Good episode and different from what they had done in previous episodes.
Honestly, this is a scary episode. It's one of multiple intriguing 2nd-half episodes for Angel season 1. Today, I looked up "putrescent," which means, becoming putrid.
Obviously this episode was a homage to The Exorcist. Some disturbing scenes with the possession, but then The Demon saying the child was actually pure evil in human form, a great chilling twist to the episode.
I love this episode. I don't know why it's not one of the best just a standard monster of the week but for whatever reason I really like this one and look forward to it every rematch. The Brendan Fraser Mummy isn't the orignial.
I actually really like this episode the more times I watch it the twists are amazing and you get more back story into Wesley's character too and he shows good acting here
this episode is kinda scary when you think about it because that's the real monsters we have in are reality ,humans can be monsters its so sad that this actually happens kid killers are more rare but still it happens:( :( :( so so sad ,a cute little family broken
Lol here’s a story. Me and friend went over to this girls house while she was having some of her girlfriends over. She lived at home ( we were all younger at the time obviously) We were not supposed to be there her parents were pretty strict. As we were come down the stairs my friend tripped of her cat and shouted KACDEMON!! ( the knife from the start of the episode ) Then we got thrown out of the house pretty forcefully by her dad lol. And that’s how KACDEMON became my xbox live handle lol.
I really like the elderly nun recognizing Angel as a vampire, but rolling with it. :)
“A Child.” I am reeling from that intro, especially with how accurate that is for the end of the episode.
Especially if that child is Like Nastya.
"Have you guys seen The Mummy, like, the original one with Brendan Fraser?"
Boris Karloff has entered the chat.
LOL 1932 Classic!
Thank you for recognizing the original classic

I love the twist that the demon is scared of the kid
I think Angel is an expert on neck anatomy and knew that the major artery had been missed. Vampires know where the blood is or isn't... ;)

It's a Joss Whedon show, of course Wesley had a terrible father.
Obviously this episode was a homage to The Exorcist. Some disturbing scenes with the possession, but then The Demon saying the child was actually pure evil in human form, a great chilling twist to the episode.
And being terrified of him! I think what nailed it was when he added, "Yes, you should. " so seriously after Wesley said they had to go back.
In no way shape or form is the Brendan Fraser Mummy considered "the original one" The original one was back in the early 1930s.
This maybe my favourite s1 episode
I feel like that kid was this universe's version of Michael Myers.
I love this episode. I don't know why it's not one of the best just a standard monster of the week but for whatever reason I really like this one and look forward to it every rematch.

Adorable cat, fun episode. I love the Ethros line....I had given up....... hope... creepy
0:18 The Mummy with Brendan Fraser isn't the original, It's also a remake. It was a good remake but a remake.
Hey Bro. They intentionally made the father creepy so you wouldn’t even think it could be one of the kids. We are all sad 😩.

Wouldn't a "Kate Lockley" spin-off have been cool? Both the character and the actress are worthy of one
Would she take on monsters like Angel and Buffy have?

Also, poor Weasley demons don’t appreciate him. Remember Are You Now or Have You Ever Been…. ?
The original "Mummy" movie was filmed in the 1950's I think.
Nope😂
What decade then?
Your cat reminds me of that "Why is your cat green?" meme
Definitely don't watch The Exorcist. Just saying
