An epic tale of what appeared to be a simple project, becoming a journey into the unknown. Wonderful to see your baby crawling around, and so sorry for the loss of your dog. The "shed" looks great, but it has become and represents much more than just those 4 little letters strung together.

Loved this. Perhaps the most enjoyable part for me was just how genuine the whole video was. One of your incredible talents as a story teller is making everything so relatable and just your down to earth honesty. It's refreshing. If you ever decided to move from Denver you would fit in pretty well in Australia. Actually, now that I think about it you'd fit in pretty well anywhere.

This was amazing and I get exactly what you shared about relationships. Your choice of background music and your storytelling skills are fantastic. When you move that desk in, and she reaches out to your elbow and looks at you with that smile on her face shows how much she loves you, and that she knows how much you love her. Thank you for sharing this journey with us!

Awesome work. The ultramarathon parallel is fitting. It’s amazing what can be accomplished by putting one foot in front of the other with unquenchable persistence. True grit. 🤘

Stop. You had me at "shed." I haven't cried in who knows how long, but this Shed DIY video made me squirt tears twice in less than 15 minutes. My dog of 15 years, Maggie, died less than a month before my second son was born (7 years ago). I still miss her so much. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on love and sheds. Fucking beautiful.

I enjoyed that! Fairly similar story about my wife's office in 2021. We turned a carport on the side of the garage into an office. Though I kind of knew what I was doing 20 years previous when I'd worked construction for a couple winters after high school, and we started the project when my wife was just 3 months pregnant. We worked on it the whole summer, almost never together because we had different days off, and I had fewer than normal given how busy fire season was in the Methow that year. Finished it a couple weeks before our daughter was born, but we then had to add walls and doors to the den in the house that my wife had been using as an office to turn it into a room. Just barely got it livable by the time she was born. The door into the room still isn't stained, it showed up when our daughter was a month or so old. I loved the project. Well, except putting 3 layers of foam insulation into the ceiling. Stop by next time you're in Winthrop.

I was a licensed general contractor. When we were stymied by a situation that wasn't going together perfectly, someone would just say, "We're not building a clock", and we'd move on.
