Greenhouse ventilation fan High Tunnel Greenhouse Series

Cheap Homesteading just got a 12 inch louvre style ventilation fan for his high Tunnel Greenhouse. He’s going to unbox it and give a Review. He won’t have time to install it, but he is going to wire in the cord and get it ready to go in.

Another method you might want to check out is the heat activated window openers at Lee Valley tools. No electricity needed to operate these. Just need to install a few windows around the top of the greenhouse and they do the rest. Take care Pete.

I have the auto openers. They work well, as in they drop the heat down from 123 F / ~50 C to about 105 F/40 C.
I built the greenhouse in fall and it's only may 20th and with the front vents open, and a huge 50"x50" window at the top/back with auto-opener, the coolest it gets is 105 F / ~40 C. I have to use a fan. Plus plants like air flow. Planting will be delayed as I solve this issue with an actual fan. I didn't think it would be necessary, but it for sure is!!

I have a 20x30 greenhouse, It has a 36" 3/4hp fan and barely keeps it at outside ambient temperature. Also, with the sides rolled up, it will pull air from the closest source, the end of the greenhouse where the fan is located. I have found I need to keep the sides down (my sides don't even roll up) to force the fan to pull air all the way through the greenhouse.

Greenhouse is build up so easy. On a real sunny days even if it’s cold it gets really hot in the greenhouse. Thanks for watching man.

Just wondering the make of the fan and where you purchased it! I have a 8x10 greenhouse so thinking it might be the right size for me . Thanks

The greenhouse is fairly short is 24 feet long. The fan is way undersized for a normal greenhouse, but it really does control the heat a bit. When it’s spring time, I turn the fan on and cracked the door a little bit and it keeps it under control. Otherwise it would be out of control. That fan is called an attic fan. They’re on Amazon, the larger the fan the better for sure. But it has to be in your budget too. Thanks for watching.
