i’d love to see this but for the ‘not-like-other-girls’ main character, like Kat from 10 things i hate about you and Kady before her transformation in mean girls
I think it could be cool to do one of the "nerdy best friend" or just the "best friends of main lead" since they are usually the more unique one and gives a broader spectrum of looks
It's absolutely criminal you didn't talk about those shoes you have in like 5 colors bc they're so freaking cute!! I totally understand why you got them for every outfit
6:02 as a perfectionist myself, I can completely understand your struggle. But I promise you, the way you do it is SOO much more interesting than if you would recreate a look piece by piece and shopping for replicas. Like I think most people could do that. But trying to make do with what you have and capture the same vibe and feel of one's style rather than "copying" it is what (to me) makes these videos entertaining. Plus, as a viewer, it is easier to imagine doing the same thing with your own wardrobe bc you can see that it is possible without having the exact same pieces.
I think it’s nice too to see someone who doesn’t just buy buy buy, style something once then move on, it’s way more sustainable and usually pretty attainable because a lot of the items are thrifted, for me I can’t relate at all to someone who does a giant haul from somewhere like shein then moves on a week later
I think it would be cool to see your take on "artsy/ quirky" girls from movies and TV like Harper from Wizard's of waverly place, Jess from new girl, raven from that's so raven etc
jawbreaker has my favorite outfits of the mean girls cult classics movies. theres a pair of shoes julie wears when they're all walking down the hall and they're the most perfect platform sandals ive ever seen. they're on screen for like a second at 6:21
i think you definetely would do a 90s teen slasher horror lookbook justice scream, i know what you did last summer, scary movie have some amazing looks and i'd love to see you recreate them 💞
These outfits were amazing and incredible and Katie did such an incredible job putting together these stunning outfits ideas and the hard work and effort that these videos are made is amazing. Definitely do charmed outfit ideas.
ahh that means so much, thank you!! and actually funny you say that because originally today was going to be a charmed themed video but then I chickened out because I thought people wouldn’t want to see it haha
I never realized how much these iconic mean girl styles influenced my own style in the late 2000s/early 2010s. Pink and black and plaid was such a vibe! I love how you channeled this inspiration. These looks were all so perfect!
This was such a good video! I have always loved legally blonde because Elle gets to stay Elle. I am a bit older than you are and actually grew up watching Jawbreaker, Grease, West Side Story and Crybaby constantly…and suddenly it’s very clear why I still love retro, colour-coordinated outfits and think everything goes better with a leather jacket…
I read a comment that said to style weird girls, and YES I AGREE! Paulette from Legally Blonde, Miranda from Lizzie McGuire, Harper from Wizards, Raven from That's So Raven- Gurl, we need it 🙏
I’m in love with the shoes, but also how you’re able to make more extreme colors and textures work with minimalist touches!! You’re always inspiring and such a pro at finding new ways to style your existing pieces ❤️ I loved this video so much~
I would LOVE to see you do some of the "nerdy" looks of the nineties and noughties. Willow Rosenburg from Buffy, Pre-makeover Laney Boggs, a lot of the "best friend" characters were often coded as kinda nerdy, and I would love to see your take on that.
a great trope to tackle in contrast to this would then be like the 'not like other girls' one! like Laney from She's All That in her artist overalls, and Enid and Rebecca from Ghost World, and Tibby from Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants :)
The first Sharpay outfit is incredible, omg *chefs kiss*! :)) Never doubt yourself; your interpretations and innovations are a lot more exciting than just doing standard, exact replicas. Also ofc, its super nice to see someone using clothes they already own for outfit challenges (a lot of which seem to be thrifted, yay!!), rather than buying a whole new wardrobe for a challenge! So super enjoyable overall as always :). Also loved the legally Blonde babbling, that film is the gem of all the early 2000 'chick flicks' imo
one of my fav videos you've ever made! don't apologize for being "chatty" or "babbling" either, i loved all your info and opinions and i was taking notes in my head about all the movies i need to watch. this was a wealth of information and fun fashion discourse and you do such a good job styling things from your closet! (also loved all your shoes for these looks!!) could tell this topic was so fun for you and it was so fun to watch :)
First of all, amazing video as always! but I just wanted to mention that every time you try to stick to the theme too much I feel like your creative side gets restricted and as a result of that, outfits just don't hit the same; but when you do your own twist on it or your own modification, the whole fit goes from normal/expected to friggin hawwttt. Maybe this happens cuz your own versions of these recreations are more on brand today's fashion dynamic, which is what I prefer. anyway, since this is my first comment on your channel after following it for so long imma go ahead and say that you really inspire me the most when it comes to expressing myself through clothes, and watching your videos kinda always reminds me why I love dressing up or putting together a good outfit.!! thank you for doing what you do :)
Just know that your looks are exatcly what they are supposed to be: a interpretation using your style. It's great! I wouldn't like as much if you just used the exact same clothes as the characters
It would be awesome to see you do "the best friend" (Mandella from 10 Things I Hate About You -did NOT remember that was her name lol-, Lilly from Princess Diaries, Jane from Daria - you might have done her before tho?, Naru aka Molly from Sailor Moon, Miranda from Lizzie Maguire, etc.). I feel like there are a ton of supporting character bestfriends in movies and tv that would be fun to do!
I loved all of these looks so much and they were so iconic! I just didn’t remember watching all of these movies! Maybe the next trope you could do is the artsy or quirky best friend. I don’t think they get enough love.
I LOVE the Carla Santina power suit you did!!! Something about the pastel colours and all the silver detailing with those platforms, holy moly looks SO GOOD!
I will love to see you trying to do looks inspired in mexican soap operas. I remender when I was a kid I had a friend that was obsessed with mexican soap operas, despite I dont like it, I have to say, these soap operas had a really dope outfits
I’d _love_ if you did a video with Amma from Sharp Objects. She’s definitely be defined as a “mean girl”, but more in a Southern Gothic Horror type of way. She’s much darker than a teen film mean girl, and combined with the Southern gentry element of her style, it’d absolutely be cool to see you tackle something like (I also feel like preteen existential dread could fall under this category, like Welcome to the Dollhouse, Thirteen, or The Virgin Suicides).
i loved this! i think a really cool idea based on this video would be to do styling outfits to fit in to the 'top 10' best like teen supernatural dramas, like what you would wear. so like, the vampire diaries, supernatural, buffy the vampire slayer, teen wolf, the originals, etc. this was my favorite genre growing up, would be really cool to see! love u
ahh i honestly love you for this comment, it means so much to know someone would be so supportive and kind!! I’ve really been wanting to try more videos like you mentioned so I could hopefully start uploading more frequently but always get a bit nervous to switch things up! so you’ve totally made my day with this, thank you!!
I love your videos! Found your channel last month and I'm still obsessed, personally my favorite thing that you do is choose pieces from your own wardrobe and make it work. I find that very inspiring!
Haha! Don't worry about calling the shoes "thongs". We in America used to call them that too (and many in the older generations still do) before thong underwear started to become really popular and kinda stole the word away from the shoes. 😆But, if you're looking for an alternate term for them, it's become more common in America to call them "flip-flops". Only if they have a strap between the toes, though. Otherwise, they're just sandals. (The term sandals really works no matter what 'cause flip-flops are just considered a type of sandal anyway 😊). Grant you, that's just in the States, since I'm sure other countries have lots of other terms for them but, that at least gives you an idea for alternate terms to use, if you just want to have one in your back pocket.
I had to watch a Qantas ad right before you recreated Jawbreaker outfits lol Fun video as always! I think your commentary is getting more and more witty with each video 👍 And ofc the outfits were on point 💯
i come to this channel to see you reinterpret looks with your own clothes! your sense of style is whats interesting to watch and that wouldnt be very interesting if you were just trying to get the same clothes from the originals
"rich girl and horsegirl have some overlap" thinking about this... every rich girl has 3 horses, but not every horse girl is rich 🤔 btw the video format is so nice with u just talking in front of ur wardrobe, really chill
i’d love to see this but for the ‘not-like-other-girls’ main character, like Kat from 10 things i hate about you and Kady before her transformation in mean girls
Yesss. Also Alex from wowp, maybe Quin from Work it, Becca from pitch perfect, maybe Bela from twilight ( even though she has no style)
yeah
I don't think kady was a pick me.
@@nikkisumesh she wasn’t a pick me, she just catered to the not like other girls audience
Omg the NLOG main girl wardrobe is something I’ve been wanting to see!
I think it could be cool to do one of the "nerdy best friend" or just the "best friends of main lead" since they are usually the more unique one and gives a broader spectrum of looks
YES especially 2000s disney channel shows (i'm thinking harper from wizards of waverly place & lily/lola from hannah montanna)
It's absolutely criminal you didn't talk about those shoes you have in like 5 colors bc they're so freaking cute!! I totally understand why you got them for every outfit
okay but the STYLING on that blue suit skirt set COMPLETELY elevated it! 👏🏻 your skills at accessorizing is always so good!
If I saw the first Sharpey inspired outfit without seeing the video, I'd still know it references her. You're incredible.
6:02 as a perfectionist myself, I can completely understand your struggle. But I promise you, the way you do it is SOO much more interesting than if you would recreate a look piece by piece and shopping for replicas. Like I think most people could do that. Plus, as a viewer, it is easier to imagine doing the same thing with your own wardrobe bc you can see that it is possible without having the exact same pieces.
you stated it perfectly! It’s more creative and engaging to see her experiment and work with what she has
Well said!
I think it’s nice too to see someone who doesn’t just buy buy buy, style something once then move on, it’s way more sustainable and usually pretty attainable because a lot of the items are thrifted, for me I can’t relate at all to someone who does a giant haul from somewhere like shein then moves on a week later
@@mahoupanda2639 yep, I completely agree 👍🏻
the first sharpay outfit with the hat AND the scarf would actually be perfect imo
I think it would be cool to see your take on "artsy/ quirky" girls from movies and TV like Harper from Wizard's of waverly place, Jess from new girl, raven from that's so raven etc
I need this!
jawbreaker has my favorite outfits of the mean girls cult classics movies. theres a pair of shoes julie wears when they're all walking down the hall and they're the most perfect platform sandals ive ever seen. they're on screen for like a second at 6:21
I'm obsessed with her entire wardrobe tbh, especially the tank top she's wearing!
i think you definetely would do a 90s teen slasher horror lookbook justice
scream, i know what you did last summer, scary movie have some amazing looks and i'd love to see you recreate them 💞
I appreciate that you’re using items that you already own and not creating waste. Also, everything looks great.
These outfits were amazing and incredible and Katie did such an incredible job putting together these stunning outfits ideas and the hard work and effort that these videos are made is amazing. Definitely do charmed outfit ideas.

I love your Sharpay outfits, absolutely killed it
ahh that makes me so happy, i thought everyone would hate those!

I’m in love with the shoes, but also how you’re able to make more extreme colors and textures work with minimalist touches!! You’re always inspiring and such a pro at finding new ways to style your existing pieces ❤️ I loved this video so much~
Jawbreaker is such an underrated film, the outfits are still on trend.
agreed!! the costuming had some more classic pieces rather than just super trendy things from the time so everything still looks great today!
I‘d love to see an outfit video for the trope of the girl next door, whose looks I would describe as effortlessly stylish and cute without trying
Yes!!! Would love to see this get addressed and show how much thought and skill it takes to look “effortlessly cool”.
I always loved the mean girls style in movies💅💕
I'd love to see an outfit video recreating Totally Spies fits, there's quite a bit of early 2000s style to take inspiration from! :D
I would LOVE to see you do some of the "nerdy" looks of the nineties and noughties. Willow Rosenburg from Buffy, Pre-makeover Laney Boggs, a lot of the "best friend" characters were often coded as kinda nerdy, and I would love to see your take on that.
