It’s refreshing to know that you both liked kalamansi straight away. I’ve been watching Koreans try the kalamansi flavor and they hate it. It’s just fun to know different people’s different tastes ☺️
My personal favorite is Sweet and Spicy but everyone in our house prefers Chilimansi. Also in the Philippines i know it's weird but sometimes we eat it together with bread. Same with spaghetti hehehe
new subs here🥰🥰🥰i dont know but for me the sweet and spicy one as well as the original one they're both NAKAKASAWA ANG LASA(Aji wa iyadesu)compare to CHILIMANSI the more you eat it the more your liking it,(it has that addictive taste, from the sourness i guess😁😁😁.. Godbless always and have a nice day,HOPE TO SEE MORE CONTENT ESPECIALLY.. EXPERIENCING MORE FILIPINO FOOD,and thankyou for trying it.. 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰 i know our tastes are way too different but sometimes we also have that same taste that we both likes.. 🥰 🥰 🥰
We like Japanese food because we are colonised by them. Almost some of our Filipino dishes have Japanese style of cooking with it. Thus, it is likewise a custom to us Filipinos to like the Japanese cuisines more than the Korean cuisines, which is based on my opinion that is.
Same I love japanese foods more because korean foods gave me hemorrhoids because of too spicy foods, next time i will just stick to my personal favorite ramen.
The Japanese has sense of quality like the Italians, they like the taste of what they are eating, if it’s chicken, then they want a clean taste of chicken. Koreans on the other enjoy chilli and chillipaste, they use a lot of fermented chillipaste with many dishes. Eating a lot of bald flavors, you will loose your sense of fine tasting with all those hot dishes. It is the same with chocolate, if you eat the very flavorful dark chocolate first and then eat the less flavorful white chocolate afterwards, you will not be able to taste the beautiful notes of the white chocolate. There is no right or wrong way, but there is a big difference between the Japanese cuisine to the Korean cuisine even though both countries have been heavily influenced by China. It is the same with Thai Cuisine, they are so used to chilli that they need it to get satisfaction in their dishes. Simple tasting dishes taste bland and boring to them.
What I have noticed from watching countless reaction videos on our country's Pancit Canton flavors is that Japanese people appreciates the kalamansi flavor much much better than any other races. 💗💗 That makes me extra happy since kalamansi is my favorite flavor. Thanks for your great reaction! 💕💕
I've been eating pancit canton since I was a kid and ever since I learned how to cook, I have experimented different ways on how to level up each type. I hope you try one of these hehe! My favorite is of the Extra Hot (Black and Red) one. Original Flavor: Mix in bits of bacon or ham Add a bit of mushroom powder and garlic powder Calamansi and Chilimansi: I recommend mixing the two Add a splash of vinegar or squeeze actual calamansi on them Add garlic and onion powder or sauteé in actual minced garlic and onion plus spring onion A dash of soy sauce and oyster sauce A drop of sesame oil goes a long way Sweet and Spicy: Cook as instructed But mix in an egg just like how you would with fried rice Or you can cook the egg sunny side up style just make sure the yolk is very runny so that you can mix it really well Add chili powder If you have shrimps you can sauteé and add them as well You can drizzle a small amount of chili oil if you want for a stronger aroma Extra Hot: Cook with exact amount of water (1 cup for 1 pack) when the water is half the amount Add in cubed slices of cheese (I use Eden cheese) Mix until everything has melted you can add more water or a splash of milk if it's too dry for you Add Knorr soy sauce/seasoning (if you don't have one you can use any other type of soy sauce) You can add oyster sauce if you want As well as chili powder if you want it spicier If yoy want to mix in some meat you can add bacon bits or artificial crab meat or a sunny side up egg on the side Sprinkle with dried parsley Hope someone tries these hehe!
@@twixie__5651 omg it was homemade because we couldn't find it either😭 we wanted one because it was what the cafetaria at one of the hospitals here used for their vegan meals which made them very delicious
When I was in 4th grade, I had a half japanese half filipino friend whose name was Hiroki. Same name as you. I have no communications with him anymore but I searched him in fb and saw he is now already living in Japan. Great memories about him. 🙂💖
I like the original and sweet & spicy flavor. I usually eat it with boiled egg. I boil the noodles around 3 mins. It’s good you preferred the calamansi flavor because some non Filipinos finds it a weird taste 😂 but it’s an acquired taste.
For me, the best flavour are the *Combination Flavours* . I always mixed it with Original + "Other Flavour Above" and they taste great. So that's why I always cooked two packs of Pancit Canton. Note: You just ate a Pancit Canton Original flavour, a little bit damage packaging because the noodles becomes hard and flavourings are lumpy, hard.
You guys are cute. I’m glad that you liked our instant pancit canton. Pro tip: mix the sauce and the powder together before you add the noodles to have an even taste
Here's a secret. If you want to balance the sweet spicy and sourness.. buy the sweet and spicy pancit canton. And after you cook it. Mix it with calamansi or lime. It works for me. Taste better. I think no one done this before but only myself. Have a nice day!
we always does that but i use original with chili mansi one, also tip you can kinda shake the oil pack in hot water for it to wake up because our oil really love's to sleep all the time
The most efficient way to mix the sauce with the noodles is to mix the sauce and powder first on the plate before mixing in the noodles, this way you can get even sauce on all of the noodles and there won't be any unmixed powder.
That's the more efficient way, but I realized that pouring the oil and soy sauce first onto the drained noodles, then mix, then sprinkle the seasoning, then mix, makes the pancit canton taste better.

I remember looking after our sari-sari store (it's like a neighborhood store here in the PH) during the pandemic and Kalamansi is always the one who ran out really fast! If my little cousins were to buy the Original kind (since that's the flavor which always remains lmao), they would squeeze some real "Calamansi fruit" to make it taste sour. Btw, my ranking goes like this -> Kalamansi, Chili Mansi, Sweet & Spicy, Original & Extra Hot
I like mixing the Kalamansi+Chili mansi to reduce the spiciness a little bit. I also eat it with rice from time to time, full blast carbo. I also tasted a specially prepared instant pancit canton (packed with meats and vegetable) once before and even now I've been craving for it.
I'm happy you guys enjoyed Lucky Me! Pancit Canton. And yes as most pointed out in the comments, some Filipinos (myself included) DO eat them best with bread which is similar to your Japanese SOBA-PAN. The type of bread we use is either Sliced White breadloaf or a Francis Bread. We also eat them with rice. And glass of ice-cold Coke hehe
I always have in my pantry the original, kalamansi, and chilimansi flavor. (I eat but not often). When I cook it I stir fry vegetables like carrots, cabbage, snow peas, etc because I love veggies on my noodles and adds more quantity to the noodles which makes me fuller and healthier.
Since this is one of my friends and family comfort food, most of the time we cook/eat it as a group. Try different combinations. I like 2 chilimansi, 1 sweet and spicy and 1 original then get cut up hotdogs or egg/omellete then bread.
Chillimansi for me too! ❤ Filipinos love kalamansi on so many dishes especially pancit (canton, bihon, palabok, etc.) I love Lucky Me Pancit Canton ever since I was in elementary school. It is perfect with sunny side up egg but I also sometimes add beaten egg (just little amount) with the newly cooked noodles while mixing it with the seasoning.
I love to eat Chili-mansi with a soft boiled egg and a side of rice! I split the egg and let the yolk go into the pancit canton and its really good! The rice gets rid of the spice a bit though but i still like to eat it with rice
You two are so cute. I like to combine otiginal and calamansi flavor together. I like to let the rolk of the fried egg combine with the noodles when I eat it. Sometimes Filipinos eat Pancit Canton with rice or with bread because the flavor is strong. I look forward to more Filipino food videos. 💕
CHILIMANSI my FAVORITE!!! While boiling the noodles get 2 table spoon of water from it mix along with the sauce and oil to dissolve the powder so that so that when you put the noodles it will spread evenly on to it
You can add a bit of the pancit water to the seasonings to make the flavor milder and the noodles more moist. I used to love the extra hot variety but now, the most i can tolerate is chili mansi.
Here's an advice from a filipino guys. Cook 2 pouch of pancit canton, sweet and spicy and chillimansi then grid a prawn cracker and spread it on top as toppings. If Oishi prawn crackers is available in japan use that, and use shredded scramble egg with the pancit if want to go wild.
You could also mix together different flavors. Personally, I like having chilimansi and sweet & spicy together. You could also add more veggies like onion, carrots, cabbage, and baby corn. Some shrimp would be good too.
Coming from you folks who know your noodles, it’s great to see you also enjoy the taste of our instant 🍜 🙂 And great choice with the chilli-mansi as #1!!
Do you put the noodles or the seasonings first? Because I grew up with pouring the seasonings on the plate while I wait for the noodles to cook. And it just seems wrong for me if it's not like that.
I like chilimansi the most and then I'll add a bit of mayonnaise and mix it then pair it with a boiled egg. I sometimes mix 2 packs of chilimansi and one kalamansi.
My personal favorite flavor of pancit canton is hot chili cuz i love spicy things and I love eating it with rice or bread My ranking of pancit canton 1. Hot chili 2. Sweet and spicy 3. Chilimansi 4. Original
I love how you both just enjoy the Pancit Canton so honestly especially with the calamansi. Others seem to not like it because of its unusual sourness. Anyway, you should try it with bread. It's a really good combination.
I prefer the Sweet and spicy and after cooking the noodles and adding the seasonings I also add kalamansi or lime if you don't have that lemon is also great it makes the flavors strong and blend together very well.
Its good to hear that both of you enjoyed the noodles. It was interesting that both of you had very different preferences, and the video was very fun to watch. Hopefully the both of you continue to enjoy trying new foods as much as we enjoy watching your videos. On a side note, here in the Philippines, majority of the people here and me included would rate either the sweet and spicy and chili-mansi to be 1st with the kalamansi flavor a close 2nd.
my family's fave is the combination of kalamansi and sweet and spicy... 1 pack of calamansi mixed with 2 packs of sweet and spicy and boiled eggs and pandesal. perfect afternoon snacks.
Here in the Philippines or atleast were I'm from the most common flavors are kalamansi (you can find this in every store), chilimansi (it's also very common) sweet and spicy and hot chili (their not as common as calamansi or chilimansi) and original (I never see this in any stores, I only find them in some big stores). (This might just apply to my area do don't take everything I say seriously)
since your wife loves sour foods, i think she can try pancit palabok, paksiw(milk fish), bistek and crispy pata(you must use the crispy pata dipping sauce. it's a must lol). as other foods try pork menudo, beef caldereta, chicken afritada and sisig(instead of pigs face you can also use pork belly, brisket as alternative)
Mixed together the sweet ang spicy and kalamansi flavor lucky me pancit canton.. sooooo delicious and then pour some japanese mayonaise and add some nori... promise u will like it ☺☺☺
Kalamansi/chilimansi/sweet&spicy are my fave but I pity original since not a lot of people buy it, so I buy it sometimes to do pity-eating. 🤣 I also pair it with a 5-minute boiled egg, which has a semi-runny yolk. 🤩
I don't have a single favorite, but I go for the spicy flavors. The kalamansi provides the tang I need to offset the oiliness. Back in college, I could eat eat multiple packs by myself in one sitting as I crammed for a test or for a work project. Usually, I'd mix kalamansi and original, or several years later on, kalamansi and hot chili. On lean days, I'd eat pancit canton with a boiled egg and rice. I don't do that as much today. Days can still be lean, but instant noodles and rice are not kind to my blood pressure. When I do prepare pancit canton these days, I use half the flavor and oil packets. I'll still eat it with rice or bread.
Ohh just a thought, maybe kalamansi is more familiar because of yuzu? Japanese cooking also use yuzu condiments with soy sauce, so maybe it's not so different?
Original flavor is the best...and for me i leave a little water in the noodles mixed with the sauce and spices, so it would not dried out or be tough...
So this is where the squared pack is going... To export... What we get here in Philippines are circular, arguably smaller portion. Most people I know always eat 2 packs, some of them go for 3 lol Anyway, 1st - Chilimansi 2nd - Sweet and Spicy 3rd - Calamansi 4th - Extra hot 5th - Original
Just a tip, you can combine 2 packs with different flavors for a new and better taste, I like to combine 1 pack of sweet and spicy flavor and 1 pack of chili-mansi flavor, try it 😋
depends on the mood i guess. when watchin netflix id go for chilimansi. But id usually go for the original especially on breakfast. Its really nice to mix with sauted random veggies like cabbage/beans/carrots/bellpeper/onion/mushroom/celery or whatever is left in the fridge. sauted veggies also good with hot&spicy, it adds to the flavor.
My personal favorite is Chili-mansi. My Japanese brother-in-law is living already here in the PH but he only likes the original one since he doesnt like sour and the spicy flavor. 😁
It's kinda funny that some of us Filipinos don't like the flavor of this pancit canton brand for the reason that its old flavor has "changed", and that we prefer Japanese brands/versions like yakisoba instead. but it's so nice to see that you guys appreciate it ☺ just saying though 😆

Original Flavor:
Mix in bits of bacon or ham
Add a bit of mushroom powder and garlic powder
Calamansi and Chilimansi:
I recommend mixing the two
Add a splash of vinegar or squeeze actual calamansi on them
Add garlic and onion powder or sauteé in actual minced garlic and onion plus spring onion
A dash of soy sauce and oyster sauce
A drop of sesame oil goes a long way
Sweet and Spicy:
Cook as instructed
But mix in an egg just like how you would with fried rice
Or you can cook the egg sunny side up style just make sure the yolk is very runny so that you can mix it really well
Add chili powder
If you have shrimps you can sauteé and add them as well
You can drizzle a small amount of chili oil if you want for a stronger aroma
Extra Hot:
Cook with exact amount of water (1 cup for 1 pack)
when the water is half the amount
Add in cubed slices of cheese (I use Eden cheese)
Mix until everything has melted you can add more water or a splash of milk if it's too dry for you
Add Knorr soy sauce/seasoning (if you don't have one you can use any other type of soy sauce)
You can add oyster sauce if you want
As well as chili powder if you want it spicier
If yoy want to mix in some meat you can add bacon bits or artificial crab meat or a sunny side up egg on the side
Sprinkle with dried parsley

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you so much!
This is true. I rarely buy the original flavor.
Now I'm hungry and wanna buy some later😃😂 Glad you loved it too❤️
My favorite is Sweet & Spicey. Next is the Kalamansi. 💕
I didn't know you can transfer smells through UA-cam videos. Must be a new feature.
Im a half filipina and i really love food in the Philippines and i love you guys for doing a video about Philippines
Thank you!
my family's fave is the combination of kalamansi and sweet and spicy... 1 pack of calamansi mixed with 2 packs of sweet and spicy and boiled eggs and pandesal. perfect afternoon snacks.
I just finished eating but seeing this makes me crave. My favorite is also the original same with Hiro.
I subscribed. You guys are amazing.
Thank you so much for subbing! I appreciate it!
I also like original most of all. Sometimes I have the kalamansi and a mixture of the original and kalamansi.
Sweet & spicy is my fave! My mom used to not like it as it’s too spicy for her but over time she came to like it as well!
since your wife loves sour foods, i think she can try pancit palabok, paksiw(milk fish), bistek and crispy pata(you must use the crispy pata dipping sauce. it's a must lol). as other foods try pork menudo, beef caldereta, chicken afritada and sisig(instead of pigs face you can also use pork belly, brisket as alternative)
You should save some of the cooking liquid and stir it with the seasonings to make it a bit saucy
Original will always be #1 for me. Great content!
Same here! Thank you so much 😊
I’d like to mix the sweet & spicy flavor and chili mansi flavor. That’s so good!!!
Mixed together the sweet ang spicy and kalamansi flavor lucky me pancit canton.. sooooo delicious and then pour some japanese mayonaise and add some nori... promise u will like it ☺☺☺
Original + sweet and spicy is immaculate
Kalamansi/chilimansi/sweet&spicy are my fave but I pity original since not a lot of people buy it, so I buy it sometimes to do pity-eating. 🤣
I also pair it with a 5-minute boiled egg, which has a semi-runny yolk. 🤩
All of that flavors are my favorites🤤😍🤤
GLAD TO SEE YOU GUYS COMMUNICATING WITH US.. IT MATTERS MUCH.. 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰
Thank you!
@@HiroFoodinJapan our pleasure ♥️♥️♥️♥️
You’re right. It’s similar to yuzu!
You can mix 2 flavors
Like chilimansi + sweet & spicy😋
Original flavor is the best...and for me i leave a little water in the noodles mixed with the sauce and spices, so it would not dried out or be tough...
So this is where the squared pack is going... To export... What we get here in Philippines are circular, arguably smaller portion. Most people I know always eat 2 packs, some of them go for 3 lol
Anyway,
1st - Chilimansi
2nd - Sweet and Spicy
3rd - Calamansi
4th - Extra hot
5th - Original
Put the sauce near the heat while cooking the Canton it will soften
My favourites are Sweet&Spicy and Kalamansi. 😋
Glad you liked our pancit canton. 😀
Just a tip, you can combine 2 packs with different flavors for a new and better taste, I like to combine 1 pack of sweet and spicy flavor and 1 pack of chili-mansi flavor, try it 😋
I love hot chilli here we called it extra hot and i love it when you put real calamansi and hard boiled egg in it
I grew up eating this food happy that you liked it.
depends on the mood i guess. when watchin netflix id go for chilimansi.
I love to mix 2 pouches of pancit canton (coz 1 is never enough 😅) extra hot and chili-mansi with egg and pandesal. 😋 😋
My favorite is the calamansi flavor, I even squeeze one more calamansi fruit for added sourness 😊
I'm from the Philippines and you make me craved so much😭
It's kinda funny that some of us Filipinos don't like the flavor of this pancit canton brand for the reason that its old flavor has "changed", and that we prefer Japanese brands/versions like yakisoba instead. but it's so nice to see that you guys appreciate it ☺ just saying though 😆
My personal technique on cooking them, boil it in a pan with a little water until it dries and put the oil soy sauce and seasoning.
Mixing Sweet & Spicy with Chillimansi is so good!
