Why do you put your cornerbacks in an inside shade in Cover 1 when the most common thing to do is to funnel the WR inside because of the help of the FS and the backer on the hook.
In cover 1 you have no help on the inside, number one rule for a corner in cover 1 is don't give them the inside. When corners give wf's the inside they end up taking slants for a score, Odell does it all the time. The nearest "help" is the Free and he's 15 yards behind you at the minimum and that's not counting the angle yardage.
My corners jam in gut and drive WRs out of bounds. Why give them any space? Their usually the softest players on the team and we treat them as such. No 5yd rule in HS people.
