Hey Mark, I’ve filled your instructions to adjust grind (really helpful). The default had been on 6. I’ve moved to 4 because even on 0 fine grind my espresso is coming out too quick and watery. Any advice greatly appreciated! 👌
Hey! If you have adjusted the grinder correctly the only things I can be is, coffee try getting fresh if you can, tamping pressure are you tamping hard enough? Coffee amount are you using 18g? You may need to add more for that coffee type hope that helps
I stumbled across this video whilst trying to figure out what's up with my Sage Oracle. My first grind of the day is always perfect, but any subsequent grinds are always much more coarse, with the extraction coming out far too quickly, in just 8-10 seconds rather than the slower, thicker, honey-like extraction I get in that first one of the day. I was going to take it apart and just give the innards of the grinder a good clean, but your tip might do the trick for a finer grind. Thanks!
Hi Mark. I’ve just taken my upper burr out to have a look at the setting and mine doesn’t have any numbers on it and I can’t seem to adjust it. Do you think my machine is an old one as I bought it secondhand. Regards. Kevin.
Hi Peter it's probably set to a 6 which is the default setting which is fine. I made this video as I have been doing videos for Amazon coffees and in order to follow them you would need your burr setting to be the same as mine if you wanted to get similar results. As long as you are getting good shots and are happy with the performance just leave it. Have you had any issues with extraction?
@@markshonestreviewsandhealt6953 not really. It's just a lot comments I read people seem to swear by changing the burr settings. I'm only new to this but the biggest change by far is with the Beans from a local roasters rather than the supermarket. No comparison.
@@peterfalkus1657 sounds like you are on to a winner with your local beans. Same for me I use a company called 200 degrees makes a lovely espresso probably one of my favourites but I don't use it all the time as it can get expensive
At no point do you even tell us what the numbers actually mean and what higher or lower means. Good guide to access the burr but now I have to google the information you didn't provide. Apart from that nice video thanks.

My machine was shop bought new, but the grind setting was default set to 2.
Oh dear I hope you managed to change it and it has helped with your shots
I’ve changed it to 6. Seems a bit u set extracted. I just need to get the grind and amount right.
Hi Mark. I have a sage barrista express and haven't changed the burr settings since I bought it. What do you recommend it be changed too? Thank you

Is going to a lower number finer ?
Yes
I can’t set it below 4, seems it stuck somehow. Do you have any recommendations?
Try vacuuming near the area you may have grinds stuck that stopping it from moving
Justo to let everyone know. I've Just purchased one of this machines and the Grinder just doesn't work.
Aparently they don't check the machine before delivering it...

There are markings on the burr that tell you which direction is which 👍🏻
