- Parsi graveyard Multan is located at Ghous Al Azam road Multan. It belongs to one of the minority community of the city, the great Parsi people! The earliest grave here dates back to 1858.whether there was any tower of silence here is not clear!Graveyard contains around 80-90 graves approximately and also contains a religious Center in it along with a small quarter for guard and his family.Hoshang Boman g is the main care taker of the cemetery and also the only remaining Parsi in Multan at present.

I grew up in Multan. Lot of the names sound familiar like Bomanjis and Bilimoria. What a trip down the memory lane. Thanks for this informative video.
Thank you so much brother, people like you and your such precious comments make my day😊 There are other videos about Multan as well at my channel do check them.
Billimoria belongs to South Gujarat
Bilimoria is a city of Gujarat in India from where this family must have migrated to Multan
@noshirwanirani2847 no the Parsis in multan migrated here from South Africa in early part of the 19th century.I had a detailed discussion with a parsi Bhai from multan few months ago.
Important vedio good one 1⃣

The most wonderful community that believes in living with peace and harmony with it's surrounding and everyone in it has now become scarse and mucro minimal.
Yes and sadly the last parsi of multan died in last December and got buried here.Mr Hoshang Boman g who had kept his burial place next to his wife in this cemetery.Though he had sons but both live abroad.I had the chance to meet the younger one. They have property here but don’t live any longer.
Good Improvement in Your Skills..

Thanks dear
Well done bro.. Keep it up👍
Thanks
Impressive. I have passed YRG’s place more times than I can imagine, never did I know there was this graveyard in front of it. Quiet fascinating, the cultural differences and similarities. Also, the fact that there were times when minorities lived among us in harmony, I wonder what changed that.
Glad you liked it! They still live among us we just need to see n respect!
Very nice information

Remained in close contact with Parsi community of Multan like Mr. Hoshang Mr. Peshotan. I found them the most honest people.

You are right indeed.Good to hear from you brother
To my knowledge no parsi is left in multan now ?Can you tell us more about them?who was Mr.Peshotan?
I know there is no Parsi left in Multan now. Mr. Peshotan is a good friend of mine and he is son of Mr. Hoshang
That’s great, where is he settled these days ?
He lives in England
Nice Dr. Sb great efforts

Very surprised to see, i did not know Parsis have a separate Graveyard in Multan. Though I know about BomanJi Chowk.
Wesy Yezd is used in reference to Yezdan (Persia) it refers to Persian Year, it is something similar as we use Hijri Saal or B.C

Yes you are right.I was happy to see the well maintained grave yard
I thought we are not allowed to enter it, great job Dr Sajid👍. So happy someone covered the history of parsi in Multan.
Dear you can enter after taking permission
Yes you can enter a Parsi graveyard which is known as a Dakhma but you can't enter a Fire temple of the Parsi community. That is again another story.
Please tell us that story dear Noshirwan

I m feeling nostalgic Billimoria was my principal in my early days of schooling, what a disciplined and nice women till day I don't know she was parsi.
The place where Boman
gi square is situated it used to be paras dry cleaner.
Yes you are right! There used to be famous Paras dry cleaners in place of present day Boman g Square.
Yes she was a Parsi and the school she used to teach in was located near SP Chowk next to khan plaza. Are you talking about the same school ?
Yes she was also my principal at The Junior School near Khan plaza. At the time of admission she offered me an aeroplane and a train toy for motivation

Great , impressive, nice effort, personally speaking parsies are nice people ( I don’t know about their beliefs) but want to know
Thanks!!
Yes Parsiis are very nice people, they have done a lot for betterment and development of Pakistan. They don’t bury their loved ones instead leave them to a place(called as tower of silence)so that vultures can eat them.We don’t really know how they managed this in this parsi cemetery of Multan.
@@DoctorSajidVlog thanks for this information
Most welcome
The Parsis believe in only three things in which all the teachings of all the religions consist of "Good Thoughts Good Words Good Deeds" .
That’s a wonderful message
Very soon i will visit this graveyard.i like it so much.graveyard visit is easy or take any permisson to parsi authoroty?
Maria you can easily visit it after taking permission from the guard and his family living inside the gate. They are friendly people!only thing they might warn you is not to take many photographs as the surrounding area is a restricted one.But yes you can easily visit it...
Visit kren and hme bhe btaey ga how it was😊

The language that you are reading on the tombstone is known as Gujarati. The language of the state of Gujarat of India.
Thanks brother for your comments and information
Never knew the existence of Parsis in Multan. Bit surprised to learn about their last rituals (not the same per my knowledge). The language on epitaph other than English is Gujrati and still spoken by Agha Khanis, Bohras, Parsis, Memons, and Gujrati Hindus in Karachi and other Part of Pakistan where such communities live.
Saifuddin bhai good to hear from you, yeah parsis existed here, though in minority but as a strong community. But now all have either migrated or ultimately passed away except one guy.You are right about the rituals especially considering the abscence of tower of silence here. But who knows that there might be one here in the past.I thought of this all place as tower of silence or at least a part of it,especially a grave where three people were buried together.Rest a Multani Parsi can tell better. Thanks for your detailed, informative and valuable comment.😊
@@DoctorSajidVlogdear Sajid saheb, thanks. Parsis world over population iis around 250 thousand. But their contributions for the benevolent of mankind is humongous. NED University of Engineering & Technology Karachi (I am one of the alumnus of the alma mater) is an example of such act. Around 1000 parsis still live in Karachi.. Renounced journalist Ardeshir Kawasji was our family friend. Justice Durab Patel (of Supreme Court of Pakistan) and Bapsi Sidhwa renounced author (Sitara-Imtiaz Govt. Of Pakistan) are few to mention (recently met her in New York during a book louching ceremony by Pakistani Americans). What a pity!
Saifuddin bhai I agree to what you said.it’s great to know that you are an NEDIAN,I visited NED multiple times during my Mbbs long time ago as a close friend used to study there. It’s a great university indeed.Nobody can refuse the participation of Parsi community in development of our country.Stay blessed sir!!

I think people who are taking care of Gora Qabristan or Parsi Qabristan, they should number the graves and record the data and digitalize it.
District Govt should help preserve these places which are part of Our history.

But according to my research Zoroastrians dont berry their deads , the have a tower of silence for excarnation also called dakhma
@leo leo you are very right!
Probably they might have a tower of silence here, especially at places where names of 3 people is carved.
Parsis are buried in places that don't have a Tower of Silence. That has always been the ritual.

How many graves are there in this graveyard?
Dear Neither did I count nor It was mentioned there but I guess it would be around 80 to 90 graves
Sadly you have very little knowledge about Parsi community. Zurtisht religion is one of the oldest originated from Iran.
Parsi don't do the barrial. They leave the corpse for vulchers . Vulchers eat the dead body. It is called dokhmenishi. Their language is Gujarati which was written on stones which you didn't know. I lived in Karachi and had Parsi friends. They make best dhan saak and biryani
Thanks for your detailed comments
